Oh lovely!

I'm getting my hair cut later. It’s been over a year… dd too!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/09/2022 10:50

Whereabouts are you from, @xogossipgirlxo?

I've been to Krakow before, and now Warsaw. It's a beautiful country.

@NoWordForFluffy I am from seaside, near Gdansk🙌🏻 Love this area. I’m glad you enjoy it❤️ Warsaw is a nice city, I actually like it more than Krakow!

FireflyGirl · 23/09/2022 21:56

crazy now is the perfect time to buy - you can try growing lettuce/salad leaves over the winter!

Between the new job, DH deciding we should look at remortgaging despite being fixed until next October, sorting out electricians so we can get the extension signed off, sorting the flooring guys (who will hopefully be finishing tomorrow), I'm meeting myself coming back.

And I'm due to go for my flu jab tomorrow but I've got a nasty cold coming on 🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 24/09/2022 09:55

Morning!

I slept like the dead last night. 😴 Unfortunately I'm still quite coldy...these germs are going on forever.

DH picked me up from the airport, as the train situation was ridiculous and I wouldn't have got home til gone midnight, if at all! 😱

@xogossipgirlxo, I've heard that Gdańsk is really nice, so I'll have to see about a trip there too at some point. 🙂

Housework beckons today. Exciting. 🙄

Morning.

There's definitely been a drop in temperature.

I'm watching the lovely Stanley Tucci on Saturday Kitchen.

What people don't tell you about having kids is that you'll spend your whole weekend going to birthday parties.

WreckTangled · 24/09/2022 10:28

None of us are dressed yet. Dh is at work. I really need to get off my bum and do something but might have another coffee first. The washing I put on the clothes horse two days ago still isn’t dry so I’m going to get the heated one out I think.

WreckTangled · 24/09/2022 10:29

Oh and we had a take away last night which came to £58. Wtf. Guess we won’t be doing that again!

DreamingofItaly2023 · 24/09/2022 10:31

My germs won’t go either fluffy, one week now of not leaving the house so am very impressed with you managing to get on with stuff. I’m utterly exhausted hanging out the washing.

NerosFiddle · 24/09/2022 10:41

Wreck what did you have? 😱

DreamingofItaly2023 · 24/09/2022 10:44

Take aways have got crazy expensive I have noticed, we stick to fish and chips now.

WreckTangled · 24/09/2022 10:45

Indian:
3 starters
2 popadoms
2 naan
2 small samosas
1 mango chutney
1 rice
1 main
1 side
I guess it’s gone up as the dc eat it now too but still wasn’t expecting quite so much…

WreckTangled · 24/09/2022 10:45

Fish and chips always makes me sick! No idea why.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/09/2022 11:04

Takeaway is ridiculously dear now, isn't it? We rarely get it.

Dreaming, it's bloody hard motivating myself, I can tell you. Warsaw was challenging and exhausting. But I wasn't going to miss it.

Neros, it's proper autumn now, isn't it? 🍁 🍂

FireflyGirl · 24/09/2022 17:42

That's bonkers Neros 😲

We got 2 mains, 3 poppadoms with pickles, onion bhajis, chips, chappatis and rice for the two of us for DH's birthday last week and it only cost £25 delivered!

I now have flooring down! Hurrah! Just need the skirting putting back on and the doors trimming so they can go back on (not that I ever get to wee in peace even with a door on the loo 🙄) and that is the extension finished! At last 🎉🎉

NoWordForFluffy · 24/09/2022 17:51

Will the extension gets its own 🎄 @FireflyGirl?!

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 24/09/2022 17:55

Of course, Fluffy. The ceiling is higher in there as well, because it's vaulted I have already bought a 7 foot tree and garlands to go around the doors 😁😁

WreckTangled · 24/09/2022 18:29

We had to drive five miles to collect our indian!

NoWordForFluffy · 25/09/2022 08:02

Morning!

Back to shit sleep last night. Need to try to rectify that tonight before getting back to work tomorrow (boooooooo!).

I'm very pleased you have sorted your new tree, Firefly! Pictures will be required. 🎄🎄🎄

The starlings are still being bonkers! So many came down first thing when I put worms / sultanas out!

WreckTangled · 25/09/2022 08:44

I didn’t sleep well either, woke at 5:30. Dh is working again today so I guess housework and a nap for me Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/09/2022 09:09

I've been away with my SIL at a yarn show this weekend. Just about to leave for the station to make my way home. Three months today to the big day!

NerosFiddle · 25/09/2022 09:18

Happy Rudolph Day!

I think I'm going to do a bit of shopping today. I'm looking for anything cinnamon to put into a present for my friend in Australia.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/09/2022 15:18

Ooh, I forgot it was Rudolph Day! 🦌

I've got the Christmas meat on order from 2 supermarkets for delivery / collection in the next week. I've two ducks, a leg of lamb and a joint of pork. Hopefully it'll be enough for us all (we may yet increase in numbers again too!).

I'll do a Sainsbury's food order to collect when booking opens for this, plus top up from our local cheese shop and Booths where required.

The red cabbage is in the freezer, as I made it yesterday, as are the potatoes ready to roast from the allotment. It's all coming together! 🎅🏻

Happy Rudolph Day (late to the party )

MN site was being chintzy and not letting me post or even see half the screen Xmas Hmm

Glad you enjoyed your trip Fluffy
Enjoy the new tree Firefly ( I am still avoiding A Tree this year as our cats will Have That , little toads ) so I'll be admiring everyone elses.

In anticipation I bought the Good Housekeeping Christmas Collection magazine , there's some nice looking recipes in there that I'll try in the lead up .
A few soup recipes too (I made some Carrot&Coriander on Friday so I'm doing a list of soups I can try out )

I've noticed more online shops are releasing their Christmas offerings ., I had a mosey round Lakeland yesterday and a quick TKMaxx/HomeSense on Friday , they had Spode in HomeSense (the Christmas Tree )

I'm looking forward to Hallowe'en too , planning the decorations (and buy more sweets this year )

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/09/2022 16:55

Ohh and on the M&S Christmas Food preview ( it was on here somewhere ) they'll have Frangipan Mince Pies in the Bakery from November so I'll give them a try .

NoWordForFluffy · 25/09/2022 17:14

I made some amazing frangipani mince pies last year, 70. I think they'll be on the list again this year!
