Double figures has rattled round quickly, hasn't it? Time always seems to march on once the kids are back at school though.

Morning!

Darker mornings = difficult to get up! I'm liking it being cooler though, as I'm a hot sleeper and prefer it not to be too warm in the bedroom.

WreckTangled · 15/09/2022 07:16

Yes I almost needed my torch when I left for the gym this morning. I expect I will by next week.

NerosFiddle · 15/09/2022 10:19

Morning.

Not a bad day here. Able to get the washing on the line. So no complaints.

CamdenLurker · 15/09/2022 11:51

Hey Everyone,

I'm not much of a poster, it takes me forever to keep up with reading these boards, but I just wanted to say thanks for all the lovely Christmas chat.

I'm really looking forward to keeping unto date with these threads as we get closer to the big day, I love buying and giving gifts so much, and these threads are great inspiration for spending time together and enjoying the countdown 🎄

CrazyBaubles · 15/09/2022 13:17

Clear skies here but it's quite windy and cold. I had to go and put bed socks on.

Work is annoying me today so I'm looking forward to finishing. I think Im going to make a start on my Christmas crochet this evening as a nice distraction.

Earlier, I noticed 2 more red chillis on the plan outside, ready for picking. Not sure what I was thinking but I picked them and just took a bite out of one. Apparently my chillis are HOT 🔥🥵
Neighbour caught me coughing with streaming eyes - I had to come in and drink 2 yogurt drinks but my mouth is still buzzing Blush Won't be doing that again!

WreckTangled · 15/09/2022 14:08

Oh no crazy!

I put my washing out at 7:30 this morning (fluffy will be proud).

I've got my second covid booster Sunday and just realised the festival of speed is on so traffic will be a nightmare. Will also be a nightmare for work tomorrow, very annoying.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2022 18:51

Well done, Wreck!

Crazy, what on earth were you thinking?! I hope your mouth is recovered now.

Our washing dried nicely. Another load is going out shortly!

WreckTangled · 15/09/2022 19:37

Mine wasn’t all dry when I got it in at 3:45 (as someone had lit a bonfire) 😭 so annoying. It was 19° here too, we just can’t get washing dry outside once the weather turns. Doubly annoying as in the summer it’s usually always breezy but not now.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2022 19:46

Yes, my parents have the same struggle, Wreck (so Why / Woolly probs do too). We do well being on the coast, as the coastal breeze really helps.

Our starlings are eating LOADS right now. Or it's because about sodding 60 visit us that we're getting through so much food. 🙈🤣

WreckTangled · 15/09/2022 19:58

Ds is eating loads too 😅 he also has a cold and has been very emotional. Lots of complaints of headaches too. Dd gave the cold to him.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/09/2022 20:35

It can be difficult to get washing dry here. It wasn't easy today but by late afternoon it was just about ok.

Crazy that was a crazy idea eating the chillies. Did they take your taste buds off?

ConstantlyCooking · 15/09/2022 23:21

Glad to hear about your DS Nero!
Long, tough week at work plus DH's b'day this week. I am ready for Friday.
Definite autumnal nip in the air in the mornings.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/09/2022 07:15

Morning!

It's very goosey outside today. And somebody has a log burner going. Hopefully the washing has time to blow around and air the smell out!

Proper chill in the air too. The greenhouse door is now permanently shut after having been permanently open all summer!

One Hundred Days ! Xmas Grin

Washing load out , I'm wondering how many more washing days there will be .It gets to the stage that the clothes are no drier than when I hung them out , maybe a bit colder though .

The winter clothes ae coming out of the attic this weekend to sort through , and the bagged up summer clothes are going in.

WreckTangled · 16/09/2022 09:08

It’s chilly out this morning!

I’ve got some work to do this morning then I’m going food shopping and into b&m to see if I can start picking up some stocking bits.

CrazyBaubles · 16/09/2022 09:37

Morning. 100 days! Countdown will move fast now I think Xmas Smile

why yes the chilli did burn my tastebuds off.
Only plus side was I told DH who thought I was being dramatic so I made him try a little slice. He shut up after that 😂

Fluffy I honestly have no idea why I bit into a chilli Blush I can only assume it was muscle memory from picking my strawberries? It was bloody stupid though and I won't be doing it again.

70 I was thinking the same - at some point soon I'll be folding up the washing line and putting the cover on for the winter. Same with the garden furniture.

Plan for today - work, give blood, pop to sainsburys, walk dog then have a film night with DH.

Oh and exciting garden news here - the pepper seeds I planted (from a pepper I bought in Sainsburys) has suddenly sprouted 4 teeny tiny baby peppers. I'm very proud!

xogossipgirlxo · 16/09/2022 10:25

Wow! 100 days! Time flies. Last time I checked countdown on my app, it was 119 days.

I am thinking of getting some nice book on amazon to put me into autumn-y mood. My car broke and I am taking 2 buses to work, I need some entertainment during my commute. I miss my car though. It's been towed for repair this morning and I will have it back in 2 weeks. Can't wait.

BiddyPop · 16/09/2022 11:05

Lovely sunny morning here, so have the dishwasher and washing machine going, and I plan a second load of washing in late morning (lots of grease stains in work tops that DH believes soap nuts will deal with - they don't, they need proper detergent and vanish once in a while).

Also lots of work calls to be done, but I will do a few walking in the garden. This weekend, I plan to build a log store in the garden (involving fence panels and a couple of posts mainly). And pick some more blackberries - there is a big glut this year (although that may just be that the green out the front is getting too overgrown).

WreckTangled · 16/09/2022 14:02

I got my first few stocking bits in b&m. Also phoned housing and they said we’re coming top 5 so fingers crossed it won’t be too long now. Although this week everywhere is £1000 a month again 🙄

Sun’s out here so warm in the car but the air is chilly

Welcome to double figures!

I like the idea of Pringles for the stockings. Good plan!

Firefly, did your DH have a good birthday?

Crazy, how did giving blood go? Mine went to Chesterfield this time apparently.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 17/09/2022 08:17

Dh still hasn’t had a message about his blood that he gave in august.

It’s 5° here, or it was earlier, I’ve got my dressing gown on.
