Boxing Day... what are you up to?

Just sat watching telly with kids.
Planned to go out for a walk but weather is awful.
Just ate x2 brandy snaps.

What's everyone else up to?

Tidied, unloaded/loaded dishwasher (again).

Relaxing now with a huge plate of bubble and squeak watching Every Number 1 of the 80s - much more relaxing than yesterday!

Ds is making waffles with his new waffles maker

Family coming over. I've done my usual open packets Boxing Day buffet. I cooked yesterday so don't want I again so other than a few trays of party food in the oven I only open packets.

Teens dad has finally collected them (only an hour late 😒) - I'm ALONE hooray!... in my beautifully clean bathroom having a long bath with bucks fizz and wotsits. This day has been a hell of a long time coming.

My parents left a couple of hours ago having stayed here for 2 nights. We all had a great time. Made toasties fir lunch and then kicked out DH and the kids to go to the park for an hour. Hoovered, put a wash on and settled down to watch TV on my own.

I wanted to take the DC to the park and maybe play football for a while but it's raining. Screens, screens and more screens instead. Might force every one out for a rainy walk...... But ds doesn't have wellies that fit.

Just been for a bleak walk in the rain, trying to work up an appetite for Christmas dinner at the in-laws.
Feeling podged just thinking about it

Been to church (it's sunday!)
Kids now watching a marvel film.
Eldest and SIL and me playing on phones.
DH reheating leftovers to make dinner.

No plans for rest of day, probably board games and TV and eating and Lego building.

Lazing. Not dressed yet, as I can't decide to go back to bed for a while or shower, before more lazing.

Sorted the kids' rooms with their new toys and sorted 5 bags of clothes for the charity to make room for new clothes. Just eaten our delayed Christmas dinner and now I'm sat trying not to move because I'm completely stuffed! Going to put DD's new tele on the wall in a bit. We are all still in our PJ's, weather far too miserable to go out today.

Left my Mums early as we were all grating on each other (very close so we've just been in each others pockets for too long). Nipped shop for milk and picky bits as wasn't expecting to do lunch at home. Put the mountains of kids presents away and now the kids are all playing properly as they have plenty of space and I'm relaxing. Pre ordered a Chinese for tonight then once the kids in bed I'm having a hot bath and watching TV in my own bed!

My 10 year old is on day 6 of covid. Technically testing negative but still very poorly with it so laying on the settee with him and trying to make him smile. He's throughly wipped out with it and ita been a crappy christmas tbh

Driving to London to see lights and get food. Yesterday was lazy as we were still in isolation but we are out now so will be getting some fresh air.

Dog walking. Then bathing the grotty smelly horror!

Followed by a Bailey's hot chocolate and scoffing leftovers. And lots of telly

Went back to my house at uni as my two days at home for the holidays was horrific. As an only child you sometimes second guess yourself and your experiences (at least i do) as there aren't people to confirm it with, other than the person doing the awful things.

Had a guest this year that saw everything and asked to leave as felt so uncomfortable. So we're back in my house alone with lots of alcohol and no dickhead family to be around - waheyyyyy (I cried earlier so now I have to laugh)

Just eating a bacon sarnie sharing mine with dog while husband shares his with the cat , watching border security and meal planning

Family all still here. Just relaxing and grazing.

Just got into a hot bath with a 'Revive' candle, 'Recover' bath salts, a space mask, cup of tea and gingerbread. 3 DC under 5 and cooked for 13 yesterday so this is bliss!!!

We'll have turkey soup and play games later.

Tidied away the presents, cleaned the kitchen up a bit then had a Brie and cranberry bagel for breakfast while catching up on yesterday’s soaps. My mother finally left a little while ago, DD in her room now, I’m planning a long hot bath in a little while then will get into my new pyjamas and fluffy socks. Hot baguettes filled with leftovers for dinner tonight - can’t wait!

Home alone....exH has taken kids to his folks. Watching SATC and eating. Going to see my horse later

Binge watching Waking the Dead in my pyjamas, trifle for breakfast, pate on toast for lunch and now grazing on crisps and chocolates. Perfect.

Having friends over ( 2 people ). It will be the 2nd time in about 2 years we have had people indoors !

Boxing Day in this house is for staying in pjs, eating lots of cold meats with condiments and watching trash tv.
We’re quite a busy family with no much time to spend together doing nothing, so I bloody love Boxing Day!!

My Boxing Day is usually really busy but this year we are staying in and doing the above and honestly it’s heaven!

Watching Harry Potter, eating loads of chocolates and kids playing with new toys. Working at 4 so no alcohol unfortunately.

DH working a 12 hr shift so I was at New Look at 10am this morning spending my voucher . DD18 is lazing in bed in new oodie and I've just cleaned the bathrooms. DD's boyfriend is coming over later and we might get a takeaway. Nothing exciting but nice not having work and schedules to stick to. Happy Boxing Day everyone !
