Are there shortages?

I was just wondering if anyone has actually noticed shortages, as were predicted earlier in the year?

I've noticed that a lot of stuff seems to be out of stock in our Argos, and not available for delivery. But the same stuff is available C&C from Smyths or Entertainer, so is it just that Argos is a bit rubbish? Annoyingly I live really close to Argos but nowhere near the other toy retailers!

I managed to get an X Box X series from Argos this week!... ( have been searching around shops and online for weeks) and a microwave I have been hunting for ages... so Argos are up there in the good books for me!

Not all retailers tell you that items are out of stock. And some take your money before letting you know.

Cream cheese is in short supply in New York for some reason. I managed to buy some today anyway. I need it for a Christmas mashed potatoes recipe.

I haven’t noticed anything, then again I never noticed anything earlier on when people were reporting supermarket shelves were empty either.

We have either been lucky or I just haven’t noticed.

I've not noticed any shortages. I gave up shopping in Argos about 20 years ago because they never appeared to have the actual item I wanted in stock. They always had more expensive ones, however...

I don't think you can blame either Brexit or Covid for this. Argos are a bit rubbish, imo.

Quite a few items I tried to order for dgd Symths/entertainer/Argos showing out of stock until jan/feb.
Clothing especially next OOS on lots of items also M&S has been problematic.

Argos has always been pants. Not seen any shortages foodwise so far.

Delivery times are a lot longer. In previous years, you could order and guarantee Christmas delivery with only 2-3 days to go. This year, a lot of final delivery dates are ten days before Christmas, and I’ve had one company not being able to guarantee Delivery before Christmas.

Smyths Toys also seem to have a lot of stuff out of stock for home delivery. I'm trying to spend another few pounds for free delivery and 9 out of 10 things I look at are OOS (although available for click and collect)

I don't think the shortages are massive, I've been able to find everything I wanted just not in the shop which would be most convenient / cheapest

Their are minor shortages nothing major stop it

depends on what you want to buy?

Today
No broccoli (tried 3 major supermarkets)
no green/French beans ,no mangetout ( as above)
No cabbages, no cauliflower

Shortage French white wine.
cant get some varieties fever treee tonic
No coke or Diet Coke -been like that for a few weeks

Crisps- weaker scenes and onion in short supply but load of others no longer available

No bin bags- been the same for weeks
No flash wipes or similar- again been weeks

I could go on and on. If you shop with a list it is very frustrating.
We have Waitrose, M&S, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Aldi all within a few minutes- all the same.

Loads of junk food but ingredients really lacking

I can't find a normal size jar of French mustard anywhere. We've got all the national supermarkets in our town and not one has had it in. My last try is M&S tomorrow.

Argos have been awful for a really long time - it's like they don't want you to buy from them!
Toys have always been difficult to get in December. I remember years ago hunting for furbies. Remember when everyone wanted a Thunderbirds island?
Supermarkets have been mostly okay imo, for Christmas stuff anyway. Although the dayes have bern very short on a lot of it so you couldn't actually buy it unless it was freezeable or you were going to eat it and then buy another load of mince pies
I think people starting from scratch now would struggle, but I think people who've bern buying bits and pieces every week would have been able to get everything.

Argos is crap and has been for years. They seem to have more stuff out of stock than in stock. Why they can't remove those products from their website temporarily is beyond me. It's frustrated me on numerous occasions so I often give up and my money goes elsewhere.

I was out today and there was plenty of broccoli, cauli, green beans, coke and tonic. Crisps were dire though.
