Thanks @TimeForTheChristmasTree for the title, although so many options to pick for this one!

@OhRex Not a bath toy, but we have this which gets a lot of play

clpsmum · 04/12/2021 08:55

Anybody got a code for the sock shop?

oatmilkisntsobad · 04/12/2021 08:58

Many threads ago someone recommended the snack surprise subscription. I've just ordered the original box for £15/month but you can have them every 3 or 6 months I think. Code BLACKFRIDAY40 gives 40% off first box. Cancel any time.

@heelforheelandtoefortoe

still stuck for DF and FIL

FIL likes reading - clive cussler and things like that iirc

DF plays guitar, likes collecting vinyl, record collection currently includes dylan, eagles, paul simon, - trying to think of any other classics to get vinyl of. He also likes wine!

How about a personalised plectrum for your DF? I'm sure Etsy and probably NOTHS would do them.
slithytoveisascientist · 04/12/2021 09:13

How are people buying online with b and m?

How about THIS for DF

Scout2016 · 04/12/2021 09:15

@heelforheelandtoefortoe Neil Young?
Travelling Wilburys 1?
Or Bruce's The River?
Was trying to think of a female artist like Joni Mitchel but your dad's tastes seem a bit more big stadium, for want of a better way of describing it.Maybe Carole King?

Unless you want to get Dylan's Christmas album!

Can anyone recommend any pc monitor discounts.

My son asked for one from studio. It was £79.99, dithered ordering and went out of stock. He then chose one from Argo for £109.99, have been searching for an Argos code for 5 threads to bring the price down. The TV wasn’t on offer, just the regular price, waited for. bF deal, nothing, so after BF decided I would just have to but it except the price had suddenly gone up overnight to £139.99! Absolutely gutted, I can’t afford that, it’s is main present and I am getting anxious now about prices and stock.
Any recommendations on reliable places for good prices. I have looked at Amazon, John Lewis and laptops direct.

captainflash · 04/12/2021 09:25

@Autumnleaves4
I got my son’s monitor through Very. You can get new account deals to bring the price down. There’s often a £20/£30 new credit customer offer floating about.
You don’t have to keep it as a credit account and can still pay off in one go.

His first monitor I got through Facebook marketplace actually. Someone upgraded but it was decent and still had the box. He still uses it as a second screen

Miathecat · 04/12/2021 09:27

@ oatmilkisntsobad have been tempted by this as a stocking filler, did you go for monthly to get that code to work, it won’t work on 3 monthly

@buckeejit I’ve recently used this seller on Etsy for a watercolour print of a pet for a gift and was really happy with them. They sent a proof by email to make sure I was happy first too. THANKS20 might be worth a try for 20% off too.

heelforheelandtoefortoe · 04/12/2021 09:33

travelling wilburys vol 1 vinyl is a good shout but Amazon won't deliver until January! Help! Sad

sorryiasked · 04/12/2021 09:39

I noticed this on amazon and haven't seen it mentioned before - mini harry Potter play house with characters and light and sound. It's down to £85 (!) From £110

@dawnky1983

Looking for more assistance I’m afraid! DD(9) has put on her Santa list a “unicorn cat rainbow duvet” and I know exactly what she means but trying to find one that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg is tricky! Can anyone help me out? TIA x
There’s this one on Etsy for £28 but the seller is based abroad so no guarantee it will arrive by Christmas.

@heelforheelandtoefortoe just something by one of the contributors then, like Tom Petty? Can't remember what his most famous album's called at minute.
Or does he like Gram Parsons? Bit more country.

heelforheelandtoefortoe · 04/12/2021 10:06

Found one on ebay, thank you so much for that idea.

Just FIL to find something for now, (and 19yo Niece although that may just be money)

Ourlady · 04/12/2021 10:06

Nice gift for anyone into their garden/birds. Alpaca wool nesting feeder from Etsy. You can also buy extra bags of wool to refill.

If anyone else hadn’t yet added a non-visa card to their Amazon account, I just got offered £10 off to do this while in the process of placing an order. Went back and it had taken the £10 off straight away.

Iggi999 · 04/12/2021 10:18

I'm getting lots of ads emailed to me but no discounts! Mostly annoyed as I want something to share!

dawnky1983 · 04/12/2021 10:18

@Givealittlebit and @NoSquirrels thank you will look into those!x

LastStarFighter · 04/12/2021 10:25

Does anyone know about kindle+ subscriptions? Any way to get a discount? Is it worth it? How does it work for audiobooks?

TitsInAbsentia · 04/12/2021 10:26

Huge thanks to whoever posted the Craft gin club intro deal (and associated cashback) - my box has arrived today and it's an amazing haul for the princely sum of £11.52 Shock Happy Christmas to me!

Scout2016 · 04/12/2021 10:26

@heelforheelandtoefortoe glad you found one.
Maybe ask in the "what we're reading" section of MN for FIL advice. Clive C is a bit an acquired taste I think, do you know anyone else he likes?
