I'm at a loss what to get.

What she doesn't like:
She's doesn't appreciate smellys/ candles.
She drinks way too much so don't want anything alcoholic.
Clothes
Anything sweet like chocolate

Any ideas Hmm

How about a hand painted gin balloon glass? Think I’ve seen them on NOTHS/Etsy and even Lisa Angel

Mama1980 · 30/11/2021 12:14

Costa voucher and book?

actiongirl1978 · 30/11/2021 12:22

Some earrings from Oliver bonas.

If someone gave me a hand painted gin glass, it would go the same place as the 'Gordons' gin glass I received in my £10 secret santa last year.

actiongirl1978 · 30/11/2021 12:23

@snowmanshoes apologies I've just read my post back and it seems rude, I'm sorry I wasn't meaning to offend Blush

Skysblue · 30/11/2021 12:27

Jewellery
Something for kitchen eg nice chopping knives (victorix are amaxing!); decorative olive chopping board; pretty wine glasses etc
A plant
Books on her interests or eg the photo history of her hometown
Cushion
Comfy socks eg bamboo
Luxury towels
Velvet / silk scarf

TheNarwhalBalloon · 30/11/2021 12:32

I just wanted to point out it's so rude to use a title as you have, with "Go" as though giving an order, and nowhere in your post do you say please or thanks. I see this all the time on facebook... We're not your minions.

Jumpingintochristmas · 30/11/2021 12:33

Pyjamas
Voucher - coffee, manicure, cinema, meal etc
Space masks
Cook book and a few key ingredients
Leather gloves
Reusable coffee cup and voucher for local coffee shop
Special Christmas decorations
Make up bag
Handbag
Personalised tote

Santaischeckinglists · 30/11/2021 12:35

I am 50.
So please buy me some nice hand cream, a nice mug and some M&S shortbread..

snowmanshoes · 30/11/2021 12:39

@actiongirl1978 don’t worry! No offence taken Smile

It's been used on MN for about 20 years. "Give me suggestions for dinner, go!" It's no biggie unless the PO are back.
Beautiful3 · 30/11/2021 13:03

A silk pillowcase. They're expensive, so £30 should do it. Better for your skin and hair.

So sorry, thanks for pulling me up on this. Please, please, please. Thank you, thank you, thank you

But would you speak to someone in real life like this? "Get me a cup of tea... GO". It's so weirdly rude. I presume you want as many people as possible to answer your question? You're far more likely to get help if you ask pleasantly.

DockOTheBay · 30/11/2021 13:35

I got MIL (a similar age) a lego bouquet of flower to make. Lasts longer than real flowers and is an activity to do as well.

Courtier · 30/11/2021 13:41

A new journal/ 2022 diary from Papier-mâché?

Starisnotanumber · 30/11/2021 13:41

Buy her whatever she likes to drink rather than being moralistic.
She will be happy you don't have to worry and its secret santa so nobody will know it's you

Courtier · 30/11/2021 13:41

From the shop Papier. Not Papier-mâché

twilightcafe · 30/11/2021 13:43

Cashmere wrist warmer/fingerless gloves from Turtle Doves?

pandora206 · 30/11/2021 13:46

There are some lovely journal notebooks on Amazon
(see Persian Grove Notebook for example).

One could be paired with a pen to make a set.

AnnPerkins · 30/11/2021 13:51

I would like jewellery, nice kitchen/dinnerware like pestle & mortar, serving dishes, candle sticks, napkins. Nice cosy socks, scarves, hat. Also like posh Christmas decorations.

I don’t like personalised anything, crafts, adult Lego, jigsaws. I only read on my kindle so don’t want books. Can’t get excited about hand cream and hate shower gel.

Any help? 😄

Lightbulbs · 30/11/2021 14:53

Thank you all for you kind and thoughtful gift suggestions.

Really helpful

I hope this is a joke

really?

I have matching bedding, why woudl I want a mismatching pillowcase?

steppemum · 30/11/2021 15:02

I do think it is hard as it is so personal what people like and dislike.

I am 50s

I'd love earrings, but they have to be silver (allergies)
I'd like hand cream, but no other creams
I'd like Lush soap, but not any other lush items
I'd love a book, as long as I haven't read it, and I'm happy to read anything.
I'd love vouchers for things as then I can tweak it to my taste.
I'd love theatre vouchers, our local is about £20 a ticket, so it wouldn't cost me much to go and take a friend.

lot sof good suggetsions on here, some I would be 'meh' if I received, but it is so personal that it is hard to say which ones she'd like/prefer

if she is a drinker, what does she drink? get a set of glasses for that drink? But please, a set or at least a pair, not a single glass, and not one with anything personalised on it.

tallywag · 30/11/2021 15:04

A book. Either a beautiful cookbook or something from the Booker Prize shortlist.
