My never again list:
Mugs
Tea towels
Socks
Biscuits
Jam
Wine
Tea

Drawers and cupboards bursting with all of them!

What I would always love more of:
Knitwear, esp fair isle jumpers
Scented soap (it goes in drawers to deter moths if it's too pungent/floral for hand washing)

OP posts:
Olliesocks · 03/12/2021 09:37

Flower bouquets
Flavoured gins
Cheap toiletries that bring me out in a rash by just looking at them.
Earrings - my ears aren’t pierced. Pay attention!

Most things I’d like are expensive, so I tend to buy them myself. I openly admit that I am difficult to buy for.

OldTinHat · 03/12/2021 09:53

A puffer fish. Especially a few days after a traumatic birth.

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 03/12/2021 11:25

I don't want:
Stationery
Candle holders
Household accessories
Scarves
Vouchers
Spirits
Jokey gifts
Calendar (as I've always got one by November)
Make up

I do want:
Books
Posh chocs
Smellies
Nice smelling candles
Lovely warm socks
Nice wine

SpookyScarySkeletons · 25/12/2021 08:28

@SpookyScarySkeletons

No no to:

Moisturisers
Chocolates (seriously do family still not know I am diabetic! They just get given to the kids!)
"Diabetic chocolates" don't even go there.
Cheapo gift sets - yes SIL I'm looking at you and your annual lynx women sets
Rhubarb and ginger gin liquor. It is the drink of the devil. Just buy Bombay sapphire!

Yes yes to:
Anything cashmere
Pretty scarves with either cats or owls
Experience days with owls
Anything relating to cats
Proper gin
Thick woollen bed socks
Books
Fancy stationery

Well that went well!

I have opened a lovely charm for my bracelet that's a little kitten with a ball of yarn, Hendricks gin and..... drum roll.... an owl experience day!!!!!!!!!!

Hope Santa has been good to everyone this morning!

Merry Christmas!

I genuinely can’t think of anything I wouldn’t like!

caringcarer · 25/12/2021 09:33

thisplaceisapigsty · 25/12/2021 10:40

No more socks or flavoured gin, please! You can buy me bulbs for the garden or chocolate.

PixieAndTheToad · 25/12/2021 13:04

Would love to never receive another scarf. But chocolates, stationary, candles and bath stuff/lotions/smellies etc always welcome!

GalacticGoddess · 25/12/2021 14:02

No list:

  • Decorations/statues for my home unless I've specifically asked. Never matches and I have to keep it up a year so the person sees I've used it 😅
  • Smelly bath stuff unless it's high/sensitive quality. One of my male friends got me a gorgeous personalised Clinique set - very grateful and made DH feel like he needs to step it up for next year if my mates are putting so much thought in.
  • Random tat like cheap smelling candles, give me a headache and feel bad getting rid of them

Yes list:
-Lovely fancy socks

  • Nice qualify lip glosses
  • Handbags that are decent mid range such as Steve Madden/Carvela etc
  • Pretty heels (never buy them myself but love to have for special occasions)
  • vouchers for my nails or fave spa
  • nice skin care by people who know I am sensitive and eczema prone
  • money 😂
  • nice honey/jam/ food/gin

Now for my wish list from an extremely wealthy and anonymous person:

  • A new house with bigger bedrooms in my current area
  • £10000 approx
  • To pay for my masters
  • A luxury holiday
VanillaAndOrange · 25/12/2021 15:44

No:

Mugs (I love mugs but we have too many of them already and not enough space)
Hats (they are always too small)
Anything gold or gold coloured
White wine
Wall hangings, drink mats or any other kind of household thing with messages about liking wine or, worse still, gin (I don't even like gin!)
Clothes that don't fit (ask, ask. ask!)

Yes:

Silver jewellery
Quality socks
Red wine
Running gear (if you know what size to get)
Decent coffee
Books (I don't even mind if you take a chance, I have lots of people to swap with)
Book tokens
Some kind of crafting lesson/course/experience

BatshitCrazyWoman · 25/12/2021 16:08

I never want any form of alcohol, or alcoholic chocolates. No cashmere anything, as I'm allergic. Same for cheap body lotion/hand cream. 'Foodie' gifts (I'm not a foodie).

Love chocolate (don't mind what kind), shoes (my chap is good at choosing these), perfume, jewellery, books, stationery, art stuff (brushes, water colour paints), nail polish (bit of a nerd about my nails).

lorn195 · 26/12/2021 11:01

Christmas update:

Received the annual calendar (Countryfile one) and the Amazon vouchers 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Also got from DH and the boys, new yoga mat, hotel chocolat liqueur, gym kit and poncho 🥰

DarlingCoffee · 26/12/2021 11:12

Gin. No more gin please! Or gin related gifts Grin

hiraethh · 26/12/2021 11:13

I’m truly grateful for any gift I receive, but there are certain items that are always bought for me that I don’t use. The thought of re-gifting makes me feel guilty too, let alone binning them.

No thank you:

Most toiletries: particularly body lotions, body butters, hand creams, foot creams etc. I just can’t use up the ones that I already have. Shower gels are always welcome though!

Alcohol of any sort: I don’t drink at home. I also don’t like wine or prosecco etc.

Novelty gifts of any kind: I live in a small one bedroom flat, so I simply just don’t have the space for clutter.

Scarfs: I don’t wear them!

Yes to:

Pjs
Shower gels
Fluffy socks
Garnier sheet masks
Favourite snacks, I’m a complete crisp fiend. I’m always happy with chocolates too!
Favourite skincare products (if you know me well enough to know that they are smile)

Mammma91 · 26/12/2021 11:19

What i don’t want

  • alcohol (i barely drink)
  • bath bombs (thrush!!)
  • Selection boxes for my DS. He’s 2 and has 11 of them. 😂

What i do want

  • A dressing gown. I love them.
  • Chocolate
  • Tea towels (i love a new set of tea towels!!)
PinkTonic · 26/12/2021 13:11

Luckily I don’t get presents from people who don’t know me or care enough to buy what I’d like but I wouldn’t want toiletries of a generic or gift set type, cheap candies including Yankee or most clothing

I can buy everything I want or need really, but for affordable gifts I do like books/book tokens/audible credits, good quality chocolate, plants for indoors or out, decent candles in woody/spicy or spa type fragrances (no fruit), coffee beans or a bunch of flowers.
