Child wants something they won't play with. What to do?

Ds is 6 and has asked for 2 things for Christmas.

One is a big hot wheels set, he already has 2 large hot wheels sets and doesn't play with either one and never really did. He's much more into his other toys. Plus we've already bought his main present.

The other toy he's asked for I'm pretty sure doesn't exist. It's something from a TV show and we've searched the Internet and toy shops high and low. He's been asking for this toy 3 years in a row and hasn't forgotten. We bought something similar but he wants the toy that doesn't exist. He's saying that Santa will know so it will be ok. What do we do ? 🤷‍♀️

Do I just relinquish guilt as he does have several nice presents.

Although I've never really got over my parents not buying me an anteater and an al a carte kitchen. Yes I did say an anteater.

I wish I hadn't found it now. I've been trawling to see where you can get it. Most of the eBay listings are American and ridiculously expensive. The UK one I saw didn't have all the parts.

I hope you manage to find it and it's not a bittersweet thing. Of now you know but it's unavailable.

There's some second-hand on Gumtree depending on where you are based.

It all makes sense now with it being huge and having a 'see through' body. The YouTube video he's seen it on.

They don't seem to sell the Imaginext one anymore new, quite a few used ones about so I've got dh on the case too to try and find a good one.

The ones linked are similar if Santa doesn't make the exact one anymore.

I feel so bad, I can remember him seeing it ages ago I was always looking at PJ masks toys, but so glad it's been solved.

You'll have to message as I don't know if it has all the bits. You're possibly going to struggle with this as it's 6 year old released in 2015

There are a couple on Gumtree with all the bits... having trouble linking though!

@Ilovetobake don't feel bad there's not many mums would take to the Internet to see if anyone else knew. You tried and you listened to him, he'll be made up that you didn't brush it off. If you can't find the exact one I am sure he'll understand.

My DS2 had no end of fucking useless Hotwheels sets. Every Christmas he would want another one despite them only ever fitting together once (if lucky).

But that's what Christmas gifts should be. What you want not what you need.

PS - DD wanted an anteater plushie. She was utterly fooled by a Badger .

Have you tried supergluing his hot wheels? It makes them so much easier to play with!

Update, thanks to everyone for helping to solve the mystery of the Romeo robot.

We managed to find one locally on Shpock, it's got a couple of bullets missing but still enough to play, Bonus it came with another robot they were selling it as a bundle.

Think this will be a lovely surprise on Christmas morning🎄
