If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from China here . Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will get.

Amazon free delivery tool here

Camelcamelcamel is a brilliant site that tracks prices on amazon here

Lisa angel sale is popular when on, apparently arrive nicely packaged too here

Magazine subscription offers here and here

Netpricedirect has discount toys and party bits here

Can't believe that I missed the JL glitch! That's what I get for going away for the night 🙄

14yearsandcounting · 21/11/2021 12:28

Hi all, I have been reading along the threads (not that I can keep up) but not had any need to post until now… which is the day my kids are writing their Xmas lists and have both put on the Magic Mix Cauldron on the list, and sadly this is probably the most viable thing to buy (vs asks for real unicorns etc).
Any ideas on how I could get 2 of them for less than £70 each…!!! Thank you for any inspiration:)

MammaGnomes · 21/11/2021 12:36

Didn't realise there was a new thread so will repost this here too

Has anyone ordered from www.bllyed.com/collections/kids

(Sorry can't do links)

They have kids HP oodie type things for £25 but no reviews so bit nervous

Does anyone know how to get discount off a Diptyque set - they're not included in the usual JL/Liberty/Selfridges 20% off and wondered if there was another way. It's the mini carousel set that's £94. It's a treat to me from me as it's something I said I would treat myself to after getting a promotion, so not essential to have any money off but would soften the spend slightly Grin

BooRadleyIsFree · 21/11/2021 12:40

Does anyone know if there are any offers for Boots? I'm after Valentino aftershave but it's so expensive!

PlinkPlankPlunk · 21/11/2021 12:40

Is there any sign of a Black Friday discount at The White Company? I have looked on the website but no mention. I thought they usually did a discount across the site!

I wonder if this would be included in the space NK sale bealola wrote about above - it’s in stock. They often have codes and referrals for Space NK too, good luck.

Bit of a sad Christmas present hunt, I’m hoping someone can help.
My fave person ever, db, is an inpatient in a psychiatric hospital and we be in for quite a long time, including over Christmas. I’m praying he will be able to have a couple of hours pass on the day itself - but what can I possibly gift him that would make the situation any less shitty?
He doesn’t have lots of space, or privacy. He has his headphones and electricals and blankets, and I’ve already bought and taken in lots of clothes, personal care and snacks etc.
Really, really stumped and hoping you lovely lot might have any ideas?

They will be doing the White Weekend - I suspect from next Friday

BeaLola · 21/11/2021 12:49

Someaddedsugar if you sign up do they give you a discount code ?

Oher option that could work is if they are included as part of a promotion in larger storeeg Fenwicks, selfridges etc when they do their 20% off offers ?

PlinkPlankPlunk · 21/11/2021 12:54

Thanks @LastStarFighter I didn’t see that link.

I wonder if it will be specific items or everything. I’ve found all the shops have such bad stock levels at the moment; I’m torn whether to just buy at full price or risk not getting the gifts I want to get!

LastStarFighter · 21/11/2021 12:55

@Froppysue I guess it depends on his circumstances and what he is able to do / how affected he is day to day. Books, audiobook credits, This Works sleep stuff like pillow spray etc.

And hugs because that must be hard Flowers

LastStarFighter · 21/11/2021 12:55

@PlinkPlankPlunk I think last year it was 20% off everything.

clpsmum · 21/11/2021 12:56

Thanks again @Reastie you're being kept busy this year!!

@Froppysue

Might he like a jigsaw? Makes a change from watching TV. My favourites are maps eg Europe, USA, the world, or retro themes eg brands, sweets or cars from a particular decade

PinkDaydreams · 21/11/2021 13:03

Someone on previous thread asked about light up orb things that fly. Can anyone recommend please as I think my son would like one?

PlinkPlankPlunk · 21/11/2021 13:03
@PlinkPlankPlunk I think last year it was 20% off everything.
Definitely worth waiting for then! Thank you
