@PeppaPigWorld tbh my 12 yo has my old iPhone 7 (bought outright in 2016). It is probably one of the fancier ‘phones amongst her, quite well off, peer group. I had the battery and screen replaced by Apple. It has a massive memory 256gb and she has all her films and music on it ans streams Netflix/texts friends etc.. I think it probably depends on what your friends have and use. But Apple definitely dominates.

My 11 year old got a SE and it's been perfect.

There are 2 SE’s now @WayneBruce my dd had the original SE which is still working fine but some games and newer apps don’t download on it any more. The new SE (2020 version) is a really good phone, it came out around the same time as the 11 but is a fair bit cheaper!
