I just went to use the code at checkout my total clearly stated £76 had to authorise it with my bank - starling - at that point I seen I was being charged the full basket total of £335. Obviously didn’t authorise the transaction so cancel - but double check your bank etc as it did clearly look like it was taking the lower until I logged into bank

My credit card is defo showing only the lower amount for my JL order. Fully expecting it to cancel though.

Once they've been dispatched can they then charge a different amount or is the dispatch the binding contract part?

@TuftyMarmoset Hi, can you tell me is that your main hoover? Is it heavy to have the dirt collector by the handle? I have a dyson with a long extension but it is heavy to drag around and I have a bad shoulder so am always looking for a light easy hoover but have a dog and quite a large house so small light hoovers are not really up to the job.

I checked my bank account and only the lower amount with the discounts are showing. Wonder how long until we get the cancellation email. I’m surprised the code is still working!

I'm also amazed the code is still working, I've just used it. Most of mine will be going to charity so I feel less guilty. So tempting to go and make a second order but I won't. And I'm wondering if I can return the YSL stuff or if that would somehow cancel all the discounts...

I ordered with John Lewis but then I have cancelled. I felt so guilty and it just felt like stealing…

WHSmith have some Black Friday deals on and the code FRIDAY10 takes £10 off a spend of £50 or more.

If you shop the reduced items and use things like the buy one get one half price on gifting items then there are some reasonable things to be had. I got a slime kit that I missed when they had the stacking codes (I ordered 2 but they only sent 1) which was back in stock.

I missed JL glitch by a whisker, but glad I did really. I love a bargain but this felt a bit wrong..

If my JL order goes through I will be seriously shocked!

@Autumnleaves4 yes it is, we have a corded Hoover brand one as well but I actually can’t use that one as the suction is too strong and it doesn’t work on hard floors. The Shark works really well on both hard floors and carpet and I really like that you can take off different bits so you can also use it as a handheld or to hoover the blinds or whatever. I don’t find it heavy but it doesn’t stand up on its own, it kind of folds in half. Which is also good because it’s easier to store. I don’t have pets but I do have long hair which I shed more than average and it has no problems with that
