My 19 yo DS has a new electric car, it's for his Christmas and birthdays for the next 25 years, lol! (I got it cos I want him safe as a new driver). He's obviously bombed!
My 20yo DD is getting the same value as the car and its her Christmas and bday present for the next 25 years!

I will buy them a small (less than £50 pressie each) some aftershave/perfume or a MK hoodie from TK Maxx.

Icewiththat · 16/11/2021 20:23

Can I please ask what the world war books are? My son loves history and I’m wondering if they may be ones he doesn’t have. Thanks
shivawn · 17/11/2021 09:52

I loved reading through this thread. My DS is only 4 weeks old so will be too young for Christmas this year but I can't wait to start making it really special for him as he gets older.

Ah thanks. That looks gorgeous

DietCokeChipsAndMayo · 17/11/2021 10:23

I’ve only just come back to this thread after a hectic week or so, I’m so glad people are finding it helpful, I can’t wait to sit down with a cup of tea later and read through to steal more ideas Grin

@Newuser82 we got them from Waterstones, I’ve just had a look through the website and I can’t see the one we actually got him I will get a pic of it later for you, but there are a lot of lovely books on there, I just typed in ‘war books for children’

@ivfbabymomma1 yay I so hope cosy kits catch on - maybe I should’ve trademarked it 🤔😂

kagerou · 17/11/2021 11:24

It's baby's first xmas so...

DD (5months in December):
Main Gifts:
. Fancy Sleepsuit
. Rock-a-stack
. Toy Sloth
. Plush baby bathrobe
. The snail and the whale book and toy set
. Panda shaped bamboo first plate and spoon set
. Greenling by Levi Pinfold
. Nicole Miller prewalk baby shoes

Stocking:
. Hat and bootie set
. Jojo cord dress set to wear on xmas day
. Soft rag doll
. Lamaze bug rattle
. Baby dragon finger puppet book
. Pocket library book set
. rubber teether
. bamboo spoons

Xmas eve box:
. 1st xmas sleepsuit
. Peter Rabbit xmas book
. Monkey comforter

I'm kinda worried its too much but also feel like I'm lacking something big ><

Anything you got a baby as a big main gift that went down well?

Etherealhedgehog · 17/11/2021 14:55

@kagerou not sure whether you'd qualify either of these as big but as DD was 5 months last year we figured she wouldn't care much about gifts herself so we got a couple of things that were intended to be keepsakes/sentimental/hopefully popular for years to come - her first book of nursery rhymes (the one illustrated by Raymond Briggs, it's gorgeous) and a teddy from Steiff to be her no. 1 teddy (the cuddly Jimmy bear - lovely quality but nice and cuddly for a baby, which some of them aren't). The bear is one of two stuffed toys that she's really attached to, which is lovely, though the other soft toy she loves is a terrifying looking thing that we got for a quid from a charity sale so you never can tell Grin

Ratherly · 17/11/2021 17:18

I love this thread every year for ideas but I can't be the only one seeing the huge disconnect between what's in here and the multitude of threads on how much people budget for Christmas - another one today where so many posters saying £50 per DC etc.

I'm not trying to piss on anyone's chips - just making an observation. (Here rather than on those threads Grin)

I'm yet to get organised for Christmas - other than bike for DD 11 and school music instrument for DS 9.
