Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from China here . Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will get.

My order just this minute arrived!

I received one of my orders no problem. Received what should have been my 2nd today but opened up the box to discover there’s everything but the Toniebox and in its place, a book I haven’t ordered. I’ve contacted them so hopefully it’ll be sorted out!

My WHSmith order arrived today with 5x Grandad Christmas cards (ordered 1). Sorted for the next 4 years 😄

Most of my smiths order has also just arrived (I guess they must've sent the fleet today!!) I'm absolutely thrilled. The paddington and mog treasury books are huge and fantastic value. Very very happy 😊 my boys will love them

I've just received my Museum Selection order from a couple of weeks ago and wow the quality of the stuff especially a brooch and bangle I bought are so good.

All my smiths stuff has arrived in dribs and drabs. Haven’t checked it properly as kids all have covid so there’s nowhere to hide…

One of my WH Smith orders still hasn't been confirmed from Monday. Emailed them and did a FB message but no reply yet. Rang the helpline and got a recorded message saying it's not operating because of Covid. They haven't taken the money yet either, and the tracking service says it's being processed.
Also one of my orders for collection says there is only one of something I ordered 2 of, so I hope that's not actually the case when I collect it.

Thanks Reastie, I’m stuck home waiting for the new washer to be delivered so if I can help find anything just shout. I’m pretty bored now, have baked (apple crumble muffins) and cleaned.

I’ve just received the first part of one of my orders - I’ve got the rest of it coming separately. Then half of the other order is coming separately too. Then there are two things on pre order. The (free) delivery must be costing them a fortune! And - most importantly - the stuff that’s arrived is the stuff I ordered for myself….

Got lots of pages open with different pages of baskets for me to order 😂

beat that game is reduced on Amazon - we played it at a friends house recently and it's chaotic and different but kids aged 8-16 all enjoyed it

I still have a WHSmith order from Sunday night that hasn't been confirmed yet, but the one I placed half an hour before it has been dispatched...most peculiar...I've also had one item from a previous order dispatched, but not the other one, so I'm guessing it's awaiting stock...

I've just received my WHSmith order and so happy with everything Ive got. Its a shame their website is so awful. I think if it had been more user friendly I'd have ordered so much more.

Separately if anyone sees a bear onesie for my 9 year old I’d be very grateful! I say bear but it’s more a fluffy onesie with ears - bit like the adult ones on Dunelm ( I’m trying to replace the John Lewis Sherpa onesie that they don’t seem to be stocking this year).

I've just been to TK Maxx and they had loads of cheap festive looking Crabtree & Evelyn gift packs. I got this one for my MIL for £6.99 but the contents are apparently worth £24. Good for splitting for stocking fillers / cracker gifts too.
