Where are the Christmas lists I've come to rely on? Shock

Every Christmas when I have no idea what to get my three children I google "Christmas presents (age of my child) mumsnet and there are threads galore with ideas for me.

Not so this year!

So assuming there isn't a ban on these types of threads, does anyone fancy listing what they've bought/planning to buy for their older children?

Thank you muchly.

@buckeejit We're getting her the Wacom Intuos small with Bluetooth. There's a cheaper non-bluetooth version that has to have a wired connection to the laptop/computer but the option for wireless seems a better fit for DD as she doesn't always draw at the desk. Just looked and at the moment Wacom have their midseason sale so the bluetooth version is the same price!

I have no idea what happened there with the multi posting, sorry! Blush

buckeejit · 19/10/2021 17:33

That's brilliant, thank you!

Worriedmum42 · 19/10/2021 22:14
@BearSoFair could I ask what Wacom drawing tablet you got? I don't really understand them but ds likes drawing & I'm a bit stuck. He may get a laptop with his saved and birthday money so if it works with that, it would be good!

Also graphic novels is a great idea! I highly recommend the sandman series from when I was a teen & Maus is excellent!
We got this one and this drawing software last year. My daughter loves it.

Ds13 has asked for a gaming laptop, so he’s getting a gaming laptop... he’s been asking for about 3 years but managed to deter him... this year he’s adamant... so we found one on sale. He’s also asked for Mario party on the switch so that’s what he’s getting....

Starontopofthetree · 20/10/2021 13:54

Thank you all! My children are 10, 13 and 14 so all suggestions were unbelievably helpful!

My pre-teen turns teen next month and he’s asked for a charging case for his phone…I think it’s a phone cover with a battery in it so he doesn’t need a separate power bank. I didn’t know there was such a thing but it struck me as a good idea for a gift. I could do with one too!

I’ve also got him a mobile screen magnifier stand so he can watch things on his phone on a bigger screen.

layby · 20/10/2021 21:04

Ds11 main present is Lego Star Wars Rebuplic gunship. There was a glitch at Lego site and I got £100 off.

actiongirl1978 · 24/10/2021 10:16

DD13 cash - she refuses presents.

DS11 - the lego friends apartments (as in Rachel, Joey, Chandler, not 'Lego Friends)

Fantail · 24/10/2021 10:37

DD (almost 11) and I are almost certainly getting a stand up paddle board. It’s summer in NZ and we live by the coast so probably makes more sense than for those in the UK.

She always gets books, she wants something to display her earrings on. Also a monogrammed toilet bag. We always buy a new game. This year I think we will get the family version of cards against humanity.

ihearttc · 24/10/2021 17:48

DS2 will be 11 just before Christmas but is an old 11 if that makes sense?
He’s getting an Apple Watch
McLaren Blanket (huge F1 fan)
F1 circuits wall art
Lego McLaren Model
Some clothes
New trainers as his feet keep growing
New football

And possibly a cheapish 3D pen as I feel he needs something to do.

Stocking with sweets, chocolate, undies and smellies with a book or 2

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 24/10/2021 17:58

watching with interest for ideas for my 14yo and 11yo

they will both get some sort of cuddly toy as still love them - 14yo somewhat ironically, 11yo not
Lush stuff (which I always find surprising expensive)
Band T-shirt for the older one, hoody for the younger one
Jewellery - probably something from Sour Cherry
Framed art for their rooms
sheet music for the 14yo - younger one may see that as not presenty enough though

Ruralbliss · 24/10/2021 17:59

13 yr old with 14th birthday shortly after in January. These are just ideas at the mo and will be for both Cmas and Birthday.

A bread making machine
Vans/Docs
A load of books
House plant
Voucher for Primark
A new Chilly bottle
Stationery/pens
Toiletries

Other teen:
Galaxy stars projector thing
Bluetooth headband headphone
Ridiculous clothes for small dog
Houseplant
Make up
Hair dye
Indian head n shoulders massage
Gel nail polishes

Feckauras · 24/10/2021 18:29

Ds13
Gaming pc
Candy kittens
Hot chocolate bombs
Astronaut food
Branded boxers and socks
Yoga mat
Weights

Oodie and chillys bottle were a hit last year

Gazelda · 24/10/2021 18:50

I'm stuck for DD (13) this year.
Lots of choc, Marshmallows etc for stocking. A few small games. Stationery. Some earrings.
But I don't know about a 'main' gift.

Although to be honest she'd probably be perfectly happy with a big pile of books.

Which weights are you getting for your DS?

My 14 year old is very gangly and always moans about how skinny his arms are, so I'm hesitant to let him start weight training (for want of a better word) in case it leads him down the path of steroids and body building in the future (yes, I know I'm probably panicking too much!) But I'm thinking a little set of light dumbells can't hurt too much maybe...?

Dd13 has asked for a north face coat, perfume, a necklace, fairy lights, some pens, Nike jumper

Ds12 Wants a bass guitar, jigsaws, books, tech decks

Feckauras · 06/11/2021 00:13

@Starontopofthetree I know what you mean, I feel the same. I was going to get a little dumbbell set 2kg - nothing more than 6kg, and a training mat/yoga mat for him to do his press ups, planks etc. He currently does them on his bedroom floor.

foxgoosefinch · 06/11/2021 00:31

My DD’s a bit younger (tween), but she’s getting:

Big Harry Potter Lego set from Father Christmas (and a couple of small ones from my sister);
Glittery backpack
LED glitter lamp for her room
Gravity Maze and Blokus games
Harry Potter tops
Book sets
Thinking about getting her an Instax camera, though wondering if I’m already spending too much. She’s had a bad year — only child and very lonely during lockdown and homeschooling — so I feel like spoiling her a little - but she just already has so much stuff!

She’ll probably get a skateboard and a National Geographic rocks and crystals set from her grandparents.

Kerplunkk · 06/11/2021 07:59

Marking place!
So far all I have on the list is gift vouchers for menkind!

Kerplunkk · 06/11/2021 08:01

@Feckauras which gaming pc did you get if you don’t mind me asking.
Ds likes to play mine craft and other such games but I have no clue what to look for in a gaming pc

Feckauras · 06/11/2021 19:23

@Kerplunkk I ordered his pc off ebuyer. It’s an AlphaSync with a GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. I bought a 27” LG monitor to go with it.
