Where are the Christmas lists I've come to rely on? Shock

Every Christmas when I have no idea what to get my three children I google "Christmas presents (age of my child) mumsnet and there are threads galore with ideas for me.

Not so this year!

So assuming there isn't a ban on these types of threads, does anyone fancy listing what they've bought/planning to buy for their older children?

Thank you muchly.

Our DCs are into an expensive sport so they've asked for GB jerseys and team jerseys plus related accessories.

We've also got them SUPs, wetsuits, etc. They are v into outdoorsy things, scouting etc so lots of related things in stockings(new penknives, headtorches etc).

Tickets to gigs and merchandise.

DD is big into vinyls and has a list that she's saving up for so will get her a couple.

Clothes.

A few new pairs of brightly coloured laces for her DMs.

Lots of books. She's a big fan of poetry so I've bought her beautifully covered copies of poems by her favourite poets.

New, better-than-everyday fountain pen (her request)

The usual.. new powerbanks, lead protectors, Toblerone, jar of 'fluff', choc orange, stationery etc.

DS is getting inline skates for his birthday also(close to Christmas) and a cricket bat and ball. And he loves the morning syrup to make milkshakes so he'll get the popcorn and salted caramel ones for birthday and Christmas.

Redhotchilis · 11/10/2021 21:14

*that should say Monin syrup Grin

Pile of books.
Fluffy hot water bottle.

She's not made a list yet for Christmas, but I can guarantee Lego and books will be on it. Other ideas I have are:

More beads and storage for jewellery making.
HP Pandora charms.
More books.

Trainers.
Bag/purse.

She's recently started to read the Warrior Cats books, so I'll also be following that link!

Phone case
Portable chargers
Hair masks
Lip balms
Light perfume
Age appropriate beauty box
Led lights
Hair accessories/washable color sprays
Cinema/theater tickets
Ring lights
Could also be something software/tech related, like a photo editing app for pc or a Polaroid camera or an auto collage maker, etc.

Worriedmum42 · 13/10/2021 23:01

Mine loves art and crafting so am possibly thinking of a cricut machine.
I saw a design your own fashion book on Amazon which you can use washi tape to design.
Possibly a subscription to scrawlbox, artful.

More Posca pens.
Books including Guinness Book of Records (annual tradition) and a fancy jewellery stand if I can find a nice one.
She wants a mini beauty fridge but I'm not really sold on that idea!

What are you buying your preteen/teen?
Billandben444 · 14/10/2021 06:45

DSes are 12 and 14, we have decided as a family to cut right back on presents this year, they have So Much Stuff and no need for any more tech, they're not into buying clothes yet.

Dd12 has helpfully suggested
Himalayan salt lamp
Selection of crystals
“Fairy grunge “ clothes Hmm = grunge
Nirvana Tee and posters
New fairy lights
“Cool” retro tee’s
Money 💰
I’ll get her a Fitbit as she plays sports and some jewellery making kits. Last year she got a final set and loved it.
I’ve saying on repeat for both dd that there will be less this year as they really don’t need: have room for stuff they won’t use.
The elves bring new pj/dressing gowns on Christmas Eve .
Stockings include sweets, comics, bath bombs, socks, knickers/ bra, nail varnish, bamboo makes up remover pads, new toothbrush , Starbucks/costa vouchers/ Waterstones voucher and more sweets.
This is my first year of no SantaSad

giggly · 18/10/2021 22:59

Filo set

buckeejit · 19/10/2021 13:12

@BearSoFair could I ask what Wacom drawing tablet you got? I don't really understand them but ds likes drawing & I'm a bit stuck. He may get a laptop with his saved and birthday money so if it works with that, it would be good!

Also graphic novels is a great idea! I highly recommend the sandman series from when I was a teen & Maus is excellent!
