Cooee calling parents of Mary, Joseph and the three kings here - that's right it's nativity casting time again!

DD in reception alleges she is Mary, so while I'm signing in now, I may sign out tomorrow when I find she has the wrong end of the stick, but she is doing her best pregnant poses and singing so much her voice is hoarse.
I wept when ds1 (now 13) was a king many moons ago...
I am in fear about what emotional reaction may overcome me this year.
So spill who is what and are there any adverse maternal reactions and snide comments abound?
I am (if dd is right) fully expecting the
" oh they gave it to her because she has SN" reaction...
oh the politics....

DS1 is a choclate santa

Ds said he has to wear a crown, so I said 'oh you are a king then' and he said 'no, a crown wearing person'

It will probably end up that he isn't wearing a crown at all, but is a cracker or something else like that

Piff I bloody well hope no-one would say that.
DD1 was the fourth king lst year
I am waiting with baited breath for this year....

You can never tell - last year DS1 was a cockerel and I truly had no idea that the cockerel was the star of the show until I watched it [teary-eyed mummy]

dd is a hedgehog - it's a speaking part! must have missed the bit where the animals could talk when i went to sunday school.

she seems very proud of her part - i'll cry whatever!

DS is a Reindeer along with the rest of his Year 1 class! Yay - brown trackie bottoms, brown t-shirt and antlers. Sorted.

The whole of year 1 are the choir, with teatowels on their heads. I bet the towels are randomly allocated for every performance. Cue a Christmas nit epidemic

I have, from previous years, costumes for: king, shepherd, cow, sheep, angel.

If DS and DD are not cast in one of the above roles there will be hell to pay...

Dd2 is Mary at pre school.

I fear for all involved!

My sewing skills are zilch... I really hope the school has a Mary one LOL

Am sad to report that my Mary has vocal strain from over doing her songs this week and is now croaky and hoarse....

DS is a Spanish Dancer, and Narrator no 58.
He is very pleased with his costume - satin trousers and a cape, which has apparanly been ordered from the internet. Hooray!

dd2 is Mary. she had a 1 in 3 chance of getting that part as there are only 3 girls in her class.

The costume was a doddle. Santa Suit (from the £1 shop) and brown face paint!

My DD say she might be a dancer in the christmas play (I am assuming it wont be the nativity then )

DTD1 is a angel dancer
DTD2 is a roller skate dancer (although I shall be kicking up a fuss if she is expected to do much dancing on rollerskates as she is no way competent on roller skates to stand in them let alone dance in them )

Actually I was only saying the other week that I hoped they wouldn't get a talking part as I have no time to help them learn lines

dd is thrilled to be an angel this year

Ds2 is always a shepherd. He must just look like a shepherd.

Dd has cried herself to sleep becasue she is to be animal but wants to be an angel because they sing her favourite song

DD2 is Mary in the Sunday School play
DD3 is an angel (casting against type there)
DD1 is a conscientous objector (this is her personal stance, not a part in the play)

As for school, I do believe they have not started rehearsing yet.
