We’re not a very ‘present-y’ couple. We share all the finances so usually what happens on Xmas and birthdays is we buy ourselves what we want and when the one of us admires it or compliments the other on it we’ll say thanks, this is what you got me!

Anyway, this year DH has taken it upon himself to buy me something very thoughtful. (He told me he was doing it.) So now I feel I should get him a little something but I don’t know what. He’s a bugger to buy for.

Just after some inspiration really!

This thread has taken a very unexpected turn, but I am here for it.

More than usual! It's been such a shit year. I've gone a bit OTT with presents this year, when I'm notmally really modest about it.

I'm doing him a stocking with:

Mini bottle of champagne
Tshirt
Chocolate
Socks
Nice shower stuff

Under the tree:

Pizza oven plus wood chips for same
Caterpillar arctic gilet
Nice wool jumper

I've spent a lot this time. Can't afford it every year though.

LarsErickssong · 16/12/2020 13:24

A card holder
A mystery football shirt which are all the rage apparently (he asked for this and told me which website to use, I'm annoyed as it has turned up beautifully wrapped so now I can't even see what shirt it is and gauge whether he will/won't like it)
And some Hotel Chocolat batons

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 16/12/2020 13:26

Not sure how we can come back from the bondage derail tbh Xmas Grin

Ive bought mine a coffee machine that makes both pots and single cups. It seems rather vanilla now ...

Now, now both post AND single cups...sounds hawt to me. Unless it's iced coffee ho ho.

I was delighted with my gifts for Dh but now feel remarkably unadventurous Smile

This year he has:
new watch
aftershave
nice bottle of whisky
keyring that will prop up his phone if he's out watching football
pizza oven for the garden plus wood chips
pizza cook book
pizza shovel thing

SallyCinnamonYoureMyWorld · 16/12/2020 13:32

Pots*

@LarsErickssong - would you mind sharing that site please? Sounds like just the thing DP and DS will be into.

I peaked with DP far too early as it was our anniversary in October and I bought him a personalised "cat dad" mug with cartoons of him and DCat on and it's become his favourite thing ever. So Christmas was a struggle and he's ended up with lots of practical things like new PJs, slippers and pants because he needs them.

I think there's a few but I used Mystique Jerseys, you can add what you definitely don't want when you order so DP instructed me to note no English teams (they can be from all over Europe I think)

MummaBear4321 · 16/12/2020 13:51

A playstation 5 game, 2 books, some baking stuff (he loves to bake), a little sign for his gaming corner, and a few bits for his stocking. Came to about £100. It's a bit more than we would usually spend but we have come out financially pretty good from covid as we are down to just one car and we had no childcare costs during the summer

Onekidnoclue · 16/12/2020 13:52

DH would be thrilled with a sexy gift but I’m 8 months pregnant and there’s no way our Christmas will be so exciting!
@IToldYouIWasFreaky can I have the cat dad website please? DH loves a random gift from our self centred cat!

itsme · 16/12/2020 14:09

I've got mine-
Bluetooth earphones
Slippers
Whisky
Whisky glass and stone set

Need to get him something else- probably a wallet and some new pjs.

None of it is particularly exciting but it's things things I know he likes/needs replacing.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 16/12/2020 14:23

Thank you @LarsErickssong!

@Onekidnoclue - it was from Not On The High Street. If you just search "cat dad mug" you should find it....and many others!

SilverOtter · 16/12/2020 14:24

I've mentioned this on another thread, but my husband's nemesis is the dog. So I've treated him to pyjamas covered with the dog's face😈

MrsMiaWallis · 16/12/2020 14:27

A windproof fleece jacket
A game for the PS4
50 years of Glastonbury book
Posh soap and shaving cream
Chocolates

George1984 · 16/12/2020 14:34

Pajamas
Lynx set
Hugo boss aftershave
Adidas samba trainers
2 x fleece regatta jumpers
Socks
Woolly hat that has Bluetooth and a led light on the front.
Think that's it 🤔

christmaswoes · 16/12/2020 14:36

An expensive woolly hat, a diary, and a voucher for a whisky club event to be cashed in next year when they start up again. Will probably buy him a couple of stocking fillers as well.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 16/12/2020 14:36

This might be outing to anyone that knows DP but...

A Chief of Hawkins Police Badge
A Marcelo Bielsa prayer candle
A Marcelo Bielsa T-Shirt
A Radiohead T-Shirt
An electronic drum pad
2 x music based card games
Tickets for us both to see Prof. Brian Cox in October 2021

DinkBoo · 16/12/2020 14:44

My mum raided Dh's amazon wishlist before I had a chance this year, so I had fewer options he'll definitely love.

He's getting

Bowie at Glastonbury vinyl
A book
A muso t shirt
A build your own Dublin paper cut out, and peat scented wax melts and a burner.

These last two will either be a hit as we've not made it home this year and they are an attempt to make zoom calls more homely, or they'll make him even more sad and homesick. Confused

JoanneCofton · 16/12/2020 15:16

I’ve got my DP
A phone
PS4 game
Headset for PS4
Molton brown set
A night in hamper
Poker set
Chilli bottle with his name on
Lots of socks (adidas sports, thermal one and Pokémon ones Blush )
Nose hair trimmer
A print I’ve had framed
Shortbread
A t shirt

And some other stuff which I can’t remember

Iamblossom · 16/12/2020 15:20

A new ipad. Which will cause untold stress initially while we make sure all of his usual apps get transferred onto it and he gets used to it being different but will hopefully ultimately improve his experience of using a tablet.

Some bath salts and some other smellies.

Othering · 16/12/2020 15:30

Ball cream?????

BlueSpruce · 16/12/2020 15:32

We don’t go all out on presents for each other at Christmas. We treat each other on our birthdays instead. Usually ask each other for a couple of small things (DH asked for a particular scarf & gym top this year) and then get each other one small surprise (I’ve got him a lovely coffee table book I know he’ll love).

He is hard to buy for, though.
