Just that really, if you have anything at all in the morning / before the dinner, what is it?

Egg sarnie for myself and bacon sarnie for everyone else!

That was always cooked when I was growing up, so it's just stuck with me!

Lovely1a2b3c · 10/11/2020 14:04

We have Christmas dinner in the evening so have porridge/croissants for breakfast and smoked salmon sandwiches for lunch.

waitingforadulthood · 10/11/2020 14:06

My ideal would be smoked salmon on thin toast, with a dollop of beetroot horseradish stead. I actually have bacon sandwiches because oh insists that traditional Hmm

MaMisled · 10/11/2020 14:06

Chocolate Smile

Martinisarebetterdirty · 10/11/2020 14:08

Toasted panettone and chocolates - with lashings of champagne

unicornparty · 10/11/2020 14:08

Smoked salmon, sausage rolls and gin!

CloudyVanilla · 10/11/2020 14:10

Can't be dealing with cooking on Christmas morning but I'm doing the kids a christmas morning tea party this year. I'm hoping it wil become a tradition and one that we can adapt as they get older.

So, I will probably get myself a nice chrisrmas sandwhich and mini stollen and will do the same for dp. I just hate cooked breakfasts knowing a huge feast is coming later in the day!

Pastries and a glass of Buck's Fizz

lifeinlimbo2020 · 10/11/2020 14:11

I do my enormous ham joint from midnight ish on low Christmas Eve and we have fresh bread and ham sandwiches at about ten ish Christmas morning. Main meal is whenever it's done, usually about half two or three but like to just take our time.

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 10/11/2020 14:11

Croissants with ham or bacon and cheese, or cheese & chutney.
Cinnamon buns or nutella pastry whirls.

Bucks fizz for the adults, OJ with lemonade for the smalls.

If we are having the main meal with DP's mum we will be eating at 12 noon on the dot so breakfast must be light. I have chocolate granola. As a special extra I sometimes get some gold-top Jersey milk to go with it, and proper orange juice with bits in.

If anyone else is catering (including me) then the main meal won't be till mid-afternoon or early evening so breakfast must be more substantial. But also can't make too much mess. I sometimes do eggy bread or pancakes, or make something like huevos rancheros, or avocado and poached eggs on toast.

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 10/11/2020 14:12

Oh I love the idea of toasted pannatone. The meat eaters in our house love fruit toast with bacon and maple syrup so this would be a nice festive alternative.

Strokethefurrywall · 10/11/2020 14:17

Croissants, chocolate and champagne

Sunbird24 · 10/11/2020 14:18

Usually Buck’s Fizz and croissants.

TheCrow · 10/11/2020 14:31

Usually have Christmas at my parents house and they do bacon, egg and black pudding sandwiches. This year I think we're going to be at home so was planning bake-at-home croissants and pain au Chocolat

MonkeyPuddle · 10/11/2020 14:32

Buck’s Fizz and pancakes.

TeaOneSugar · 10/11/2020 14:33

The upside of divorce was being able to reset the Christmas dynamics, so we're now at home for the day and we have time for breakfast. We don't do anything fancy or anything that creates loss of dirty dishes. DD likes those cinnamon rolls in a can you cut and bake or I get Panettone and we have it toasted with Nutella. Nigellas Christmas morning muffins also go down well and can be part prepared the night before.

oohyoudevilyou · 10/11/2020 14:34

Half a tub of celebrations and a bottle of prosecco

NatalieH2220 · 10/11/2020 14:34

Crack open the biscuits when opening presents first thing and then have cereal late morning. Xmas dinner is usually 3/4pm.

AutumnOrange · 10/11/2020 14:35

Pork pie, bread and butter and champagne.

laudemio · 10/11/2020 14:36

Some combination of:
Croissants and apricot jam
Croissants with ham and cheese
Pain au chocolat
Smoked salmon blinis
Smoked trout pate and blinis
Scrambled egg
Eggs royale
Bucks fizz

laudemio · 10/11/2020 14:37

Oh and panettone!

Blueuggboots · 10/11/2020 14:40

Pork pie sliced really thinly on toast....with English mustard.

Soxandseven · 10/11/2020 14:41

Smoked salmon variations on a bagel for me, fry up for the parter and bucks fizz

Dollywilde · 10/11/2020 14:43

Our Christmas Eve dinner is always a seafood selection - bits of prawn/crab/salmon/squid etc from M&S - so it’s usually leftovers from that. Plus obviously Bucks Fizz (I was pregnant last Christmas and I so missed it, can’t wait for a glass this year!)
