Wow you've been working hard Fluffy, love your sunflowers, mine are only tiny at the moment. Smile

CrazyBaubles · 25/07/2020 18:54

Jealous of your nap Wreck

Shame about the courgettes Fluffy but your sunflowers look great 🌻

I've been shopping today and bought some Christmas presents - perfect for a Rudolph day Xmas Smile
The works had a deal on books (10 for £10) and the whole bottom row were Christmas books so it seemed mad not to pick some up considering how many children I buy for...

Just eating a very quick sandwich before going to my celebratory catch up / drinks 🥂

Morning!

Rain overnight and gloomy today! We're travelling south to see Why and my parents today, stopping at Shugborough on the way.

Good job it rained as I forgot to water some of the runner beans I put in the ground! 🤦‍♀️😂

I got a handful of blackberries yesterday. I reckon it'll be into August proper before it's glut time though.

Safe travels Fluffy. It's a lovely morning here although the forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow don't look as nice.

Still knitting that bloody cardigan. Family zoom call soon and then bacon sandwiches for lunch.

CrazyBaubles · 26/07/2020 11:13

Have a lovely day together Fluffy and why

I haven't seen any decent blackberries here yet, I think they'll be ready toward the end of August.

Woolly are you getting your knitting speed back up after your op or are you still struggling?
I'm still jealous of your knitting skills - I try every so often but I just can't pick it up.

DH just made us boiled eggs and soldiers for breakfast as my cocktail filled head hurts and I've cleaned the kitchen.

Having a relax now until it's time to go to ILs for tea.

Is everyone ok? The thread seems very quiet the last 2 days...

KVlovesWinter · 26/07/2020 11:15

Good morning

Think it’s been about a week since I was last on, have had the most horrendous migraines.

It was beautiful blue skies here earlier but cloudy and quite windy now.

We are having a mini Christmas dinner for Sunday lunch today though probably be much later on as not long been up.

Cross stitch is coming along at last, finally managed to do some last night. Also started a really simple Christmas tree one using a 3 colours from a pattern I've found online

Morning (only just Xmas Grin )

Went shopping with DD yesterday (DH went to the gym)
Bought some trousers and leggings in M&S - it's not a big store like the shopping mall ones but it can be a source of delight !

I bought some vegan bacon (I saw it on one of the threads ) It's called This Isn't Bacon Plant Based Rashers - that's a name to inspire you Xmas Grin . It was nice enough - IMO better than the Quorn bacon , thicker and chewier . Smelled really smokey , like kippers , but didn't taste smokey . I wouldn't go out of my way (only seen it in Waitrose) but I'd buy it again .

MarshmallowManiac · 26/07/2020 12:24

Morning everyone.

Weather fairly sunny today, hoping to have a bbq and head to the beach. Haven't been there all year, so will be nice to step on the sand, and dip our toes in the water, not forgetting an ice cream of course.

Lovely books Crazy great bargains! Good night then Wink hope your head isn't aching too much.

Glad to hear you got some blackberries Fluffy Enjoy your day with your family. Smile

KV lovely cross stitch, hope you are now feeling a lot better.

Glad you enjoyed your shopping day with your DD 70 Smile

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 26/07/2020 14:28

Hope you are feeling better KV

Enjoy your day fluffy and why.

We had quite an adventure. We headed to a local canyon. Lovely and sunny when we got there. Dbro went for a swim and DS paddled and we all had a picnic. Just as we finished the picnic torrential rain started and we had to scramble back to the car along tiny muddy paths and we were soaked through. It was quite exhilarating though! All home now and the lasagne sauce is in the slow cooker and we have had hot chocolates :)

MarshmallowManiac · 26/07/2020 19:01

Glad you had a lovely day Most Lasagne and Hot Choc sound fabulous.

We've just arrived home from the beach, it was windy, and the sea was blustery (but amazing). Had a fudge and flake ice cream.

My Christmas Planner came today Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 26/07/2020 20:28

Hi folks, it was lovely to see Fluffy, Mr Fluffy and my niece and nephew. My daughter even emerged from her bedroom which is most unusual.

Just arrived in the car park and about to head in for a night shift.

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/07/2020 20:29

Lovely Marshmallow. Enjoy your planning.

Crazy I'm just about back to normal knitting speed but I'm just not interested in this pattern. The annoying thing is that I'm knitting this for my niece's new baby and I've promised her one for her older son. So not only have I got to do it all again - I've got to do it in a much larger size 🤦🏻‍♀️
I learned to crochet first (my reception class teacher taught me as I could already read when I started school so I crocheted while she taught the rest of the class to read) and my mum taught me to knit when I was 7. I think if it had been the other way around I would only be able to knit. I think you stick with the one you learn first. I prefer knitting for baby cardigans but love the flexibility of crochet.

KV your cross stitch looks lovely. I really like your Christmas tree one.

70 you are braver than me. I realised today that I haven't been shopping apart from groceries since March. Everything has been online. I'd love a little mooch round M&S but I can't drive yet and I'd probably end up in the food hall anyway!

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/07/2020 20:30

Cross posted why. Sounds like you and the Fluffies had a lovely day. Good luck on your night shift.

Mrsmadevans · 26/07/2020 21:05

Mrsmadevans · 26/07/2020 21:14

Blimey MrsMad what's going on there? Although I can't help but think you're in safe hands with those contractors Wink

Mrsmadevans · 26/07/2020 21:35

I am sure l am lol Grin

Fingers crossed Smile

MarshmallowManiac · 26/07/2020 21:41

OMG it looks like a major site there Mrs. Hope they're finished soon.

Thanks Woolly and Mrs, really excited [santa]

Fluffy and Why so happy that you all had a lovely family day together. Smile

CrazyBaubles · 27/07/2020 00:16

🎄151🎄

Nice cross stitches KV, I love the Let It Snow one.

most there's something lovely about getting soaked in the rain and having a hot choc to warm up isn't there?

What planned did you go for Marshmallow? Do you have a pic?

Hope work isn't too bad why

Woolly did you offer to do the one in a larger size or were you asked?
My Nan and gran both tried to teach me to knit as a child and I could do a very basic scarf by around 8yo (as long as someone else cast on for me). I didn't really understand, just followed instructions.
I'm a self taught crocheter - started around 4 years ago. After a few weeks of non stop granny squares it just clicked and now I can even write my own patterns which is great for toys and things but it's nothing like a knitted scarf or jumper.

Hope your street drama is finished now MrsMad

I'm in bed. I didn't realise how late it is so I've just put down my x stitch and going to sleep 🥱

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 27/07/2020 06:08

Woken up to torrential wind and rain here. Quite happy to be honest as DS is in nursery today to see his friends so I am going to wrap myself in a blanket on the sofa and cross stitch and watch TV :)

pussycatinboots · 27/07/2020 07:23

why glad you and the fluffys managed to see your DD Grin

Woolly I think you're right. My Nan taught me to knit and even if I don't pick needles up for years, it's a skill you don't lose. Crochet however - can't do it. Tried to get Mum to teach me when I was about 7 or 8 and I just couldn't and still can't - I end up angry and knotted Blush
Crazy I've tried teaching myself, but I'm just a crap teacher Grin

Mrs Have they repaired the leaky electric yet? Grin and if so, how do you fix leaky electric??

most same weather here. Today is officially going to be "Cross Stitch and Binge Watch Monday" Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 27/07/2020 07:29

DS commented on how dark it was this morning, it does feel very autumnal :)

Enjoy your relaxing day too boots :)

NoWordForFluffy · 27/07/2020 07:43

Morning!

Awful night's sleep here as it was boiling hot in the room. I always share with DS as well, so I had a hot boy with a propensity for falling out of holiday beds next to me!

So I stayed awake arguing on here as it was quite good fun. 😂😂😂

Is the electricity drama sorted, Mrs.

KV, I hope your head is better. I've had a few weather headaches recently.

Woolly, I've only been grocery shopping since March too. I need a black tracksuit for DD for school and I'm struggling online so I might have to venture out. I can't be arsed though.

It was lovely to see Why and family yesterday. I was most amazed to see my niece! 😁 It was a bit brief though due to everything taking longer than normal yesterday. Typically!
