DS had a great day. And ate an adult meal in the pub (though I'd had a few bits taken off it!).

It's flying ant day here. Grim.

I'm watching Frozen II as the kids don't want to. DH is disgusted with me! 😂😂😂

hello all, can I join you all please?
I am making a massive effort to be more oganised for Christmas this year, having been a bit last minute and very stressed last year!
I am doing faily well, have got a lot of stocking stuff already, and got girls Christmas pjs, advent calendars, crackers and Christmas tablecoth already stashed away. Today I have gone through all my stash bags and sorted and made lists to keep me on track.
I have had a hideous year so far, along with a lot of other folk, so really enjoying thinking about Christmas as a bit of distraction.

(also got flying ants here today - hate them!)

MarshmallowManiac · 24/07/2020 20:58

You have lots of stuff Moss, haven't seen any flying ants today Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/07/2020 00:18

Oooh so it's Rudolph Day Xmas Grin

And I can report I bought nothing on QVC Christmas in July .

Lots of candles that I won;t buy now (cats)
A CozeeHome hour but nothing grabbed me .

I'm not keen on a lot of the Hotel Chocolate flavours , didn;t think the Advent Calender was for me (alcohol included)

And one of the presenters I cannot abide was on so I by-passed some hours .

Just finished waiting for DS work gear in the washing machine so I'm off to bed now .
Night Night

fluffy we had a few flying ants yesterday - DH stamped on them Hmm I won't use anything more than boiling water on a nest as I don't want to hurt Hubert (or Hilda) Hog 🦔
Trying to rain here. The baby robins were on the fence at 5am so I went out in my PJs to sprinkle mealworms and seed under the bench and around the back of the pots where they'd been fed yesterday.

Crazy If he's spitting the painkiller out, I'd stop it and just carry on with the drops. It does sound like the painkiller is more distressing to him than his eye (and can cause tummy probs). When we had Tilly spayed, she was sent home with painkillers - she didn't have any as next AM she jumped up the fence and into next doors garden for the first time Shock I guessed she couldn't be that sore! I will admit I panicked and threatened to clamber over the fence to "rescue" her, she was only 16wks and still quite tiny BlushBlush
Woolly Try the raspberry Magnum - game changer Grin

BBC said this time last yr it was 38.7 in Cambridgeshire🥵🥵🥵🥵
Hands up who else is glad it isn't that hot this year?🙋🏻‍♀️

pussycatinboots · 25/07/2020 07:29

most I can remember our tree, as a child, had red, gold and green glass baubles on. It was beautiful. I also remember my Mum chucking them all out Shock as they were "old-fashioned" and buying some with thread wrapped around them, some polystyrene apples and some really ugly robins. Shock

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 25/07/2020 07:36

Oh no boots! Definitely glad it isn't that hot this year. I don't do well over 25 degrees.

WreckTangled · 25/07/2020 07:37

I love raspberry magnums!

Wow yes that's too hot. I think it's meant to rain here today but then by the end of next week it's going to be high 20's.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/07/2020 07:53

Morning!

I started a post and it vanished. Odd.

Anyway, yep, that is too bloody hot. I'm with Most and 25° is about my limit!

Our rain for today has gone from the forecast. So my allotment visit will be dry! It rained last night though, so the weeds will come out OK. It'll probably be a forest still mind you!

We went to bed at a sensible time last night. I had loads of sleep! Unusual for me. I need to sort my routine out as it's gone to pot while WFH. I need earlier nights and to get up and exercise before work. That is my aim!

Morning everyone 😀
We went to Tintern Abbey , had lunch in the Station cafe yesterday and then called into Monmouth to shop on the way home. Then made a fish pie for their dinner today , then a tip run so we were busy 😃. Continuing to try to bring some enjoyment back to our lives. Off to Talybont reservoir after seeing to Mum and Bob today , feeling more relaxed, nature is the key l think.
Have a lovely day everyone 😀

Mrsmadevans · 25/07/2020 08:10

Trying to catch up with you all 🤗
70 l didn't see anything on QVC either 🙄 l don't see anything special about Hotel Chocolat and the owner of the company is as thin as ninepence and l am feel aggrieved he is selling all this expensive fattening choccywokky doodah and yet obviously isn't scoffing it himself fraud , cheat , Bah Humbug 😂

Mrsmadevans · 25/07/2020 08:18

Fluffy l am so glad your Ds enjoyed his birthday 🎂🎉🎈 bless him 🤗 well done for doing all the work 😃👏. I think you are right to try to get back to your normal Routine, l notice if l do things on a routine they don't seem like a chore just a normal day 🤗.
I have been trying to drink more water and take vitamin D daily . Apparently it's good for practicality everything 😃
Been buying these Twinnings infusion bags and putting one in a bottle of water. They are a subtle taste and l find them refreshing. I buy them from Home bargains though they are 1.49 for 12 and much more in the supermarket. Also the plastic containers they come in are very handy . I will try some other bags out as well 😃

Mrsmadevans · 25/07/2020 08:40

Boot or Mam Robin 🤗
They have adopted you bless them so sweet, l also love Robins 🤗
Woolly thank you 🤗 l am trying my hardest to get more out of life. Get those needles clacking on that cardigan you can do it 👏😃
Crazy glad Dd2 is better 👏😃💚💙
Most am taking a leat out if your and Fluffys book and trying to get back to nature. We used to go everywhere after seeing to Mum and Dad just gotten in the doldrums due to Coronavirus its so easy to let circumstances get you down 🤗
I will not be a bit surprised to see the mental health of people during Lockdown has led to an increase in suicides.
Crazy wonderful news re Dd2 😃👏

pussycatinboots · 25/07/2020 08:46

Wreck have your tried the coffee ones? They're rather bitter, but when you've bought 2 packs, you just have to suffer WinkGrin

Mrs I've not tried the infusions, but have had their Tea and Herbal tea for a while. The price has gone through the roof though, so DH chucked Tetley in the trolley last wk Hmm

Raining now, not heavy but won't need to water later Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 25/07/2020 08:49

Glad to hear you are enjoying the great outdoors Mrs, it really does do wonders for mental health :)

pussycatinboots · 25/07/2020 09:10

Mrs I did chase off some magpies yesterday, and this morning to protect my babies Grin

Quite right too Mam Robin how very dare those damn Maggie's try to have a go at your babies . Most thank you 🤗 it really does make a huge difference , l can feel the calm running through me when l am there 🤗
Mrsmadevans · 25/07/2020 09:29

Mam Robin have you got a Home bargains near you? Much cheaper 👏👏👏

WreckTangled · 25/07/2020 10:02

No puss I love coffee but not really coffee flavoured things.

I've worked out this morning (a tabata with dumbbells) and need a shower now then I'm going to blitz downstairs before lunch hopefully.

Mrsmadevans · 25/07/2020 10:18

Well done on the workout Wreck great stuff😃

CrazyBaubles · 25/07/2020 11:59

Puss I remembered the trick we taught ddog for medication and it was fine this morning (basically - sit - reward with chicken. Paw - reward with chicken. Other paw - reward with tablet. Lie down - reward with chicken). He didn't even notice, I can't believe I forgot to do that!

Also, I really don't like magpies anymore, not after one killed the blackbird babies in my garden a few months ago.

Fluffy Similar aims here - early nights are key I think!

MrsMad I'm a bugger for letting my MH slide and not getting myself out and about but I really does make a difference doesn't it?

It is grey and drizzly here and I'm really not in a great mood. I'm meant to be doing a socially distanced meet up with friends this evening but 2 have dropped out already. Add to that my ankle hurting after leaning on it awkwardly yesterday and I'm a bit of a misery guts..

MarshmallowManiac · 25/07/2020 15:12

Afternoon everyone.

Had a uni shopping day today, trying to get a lot of stuff for my DD for September Sad

Mrs went to HB, they had Biscoff dips (like choc dip) yum and white Lion Bars not for me you understand Grin

WreckTangled · 25/07/2020 15:51

Had a nap. Was great. Got into bed! Unfortunately next door we're doing DIY. Again. Every single weekend for the past three years.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/07/2020 16:24

I'm knackered. 5 hours at the allotment. I think I weeded half of the plot and got rather a lot out. I've lost 5 of my 6 courgette plants to the wind, so no courgette glut this year, sadly.

I did pick my first runner beans though, which is good! They've taken forever to set beans, so it's a relief that they're now on the way.

Here's some of my weeds, a lily hiding in the undergrowth and our sunflowers are finally in bloom!
