That was last night Boots. He cooked steak for dinner and we had champagne to drink during the trophy presentation. Honestly, he didn't make that much fuss when our children were born.

Firefly I know all three verses . Eight years of church choir and seven years of school choir mean I can pretty much dredge up the words to most traditional carols and the played-on-an-organ type traditional catholic hymns. Plus the first verse of Silent Night in German. Useful skills I'm sure you will agree

pussycatinboots · 23/07/2020 20:14

I could probably manage one and a bit Blush

MarshmallowManiac · 23/07/2020 20:48

Oh no Woolly you need to sit in a dark corner and sing 3 verses of bah humbug while eating brussels sprouts Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 23/07/2020 20:50

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum Woolly Grin Grin

FireflyGirl · 23/07/2020 21:15

I used to sing Christmas carols to DS as a baby, as they were the only songs I could sing all the way through whilst simultaneously falling asleep...

I can do the first verse of Silent Night in German as well, Woolly, up until the bit where it's describing baby Jesus, at which point the proper words always fail me and instead of Holder Knabe (blessed boy) I sing Knoblauch. Which, for anyone who doesn't speak German, means garlic Blush

MarshmallowManiac · 23/07/2020 21:28

I used to do German at school Firefly much preferred it to French Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 23/07/2020 21:49

Crazy, I hope DDog is OK.

We've just sat down after finishing making DS' cake for tomorrow, wrapping his presents and hanging the washing out! I can't believe he's 6 tomorrow.

I think I might be able to join in with Woolly. Especially if I had Why with me. I'd be led along by the two of them!

I'm tired now. 😂

We're having a pub meal tomorrow. Can't wait (DS' choice; he loves the pub!).

CrazyBaubles · 23/07/2020 21:52

Woolly I hate seeing ddog ill, he's just sleepy now after his pain killer but he's so out of sorts.

Getting the ointment stuff in his eye is fine, it's just that he tries to scrape it back out which then makes him wimper.

most what shop is that? Xmas Shock
I used to love going to the Festive outlet every year but it seems to be going downhill I still go every year though

If you sing them here and post a festive pic you will be forgiven woolly.

😂 at your cobbled German Firefly
I realised a few years ago that I don't know many carols anymore so I bought a Salvation Army CD for the car and love them. Once in Royal David's City is my favourite, makes me feel all cosy when I think about it.

Fluffy jealous of your pub meal tomorrow! Your ds has great taste!

I went to my sisters house - sat in the back garden - and saw her and the 2 babies (they're not babies anymore, they're soon to be 2 and 3)! It was so nice, niece has learned a bit of a garbled version of my name and loves saying so today only I could take her places / play / get her drink / carry her 🥰

Home now - going to squeeze in some cross stitch.
In case anyone is worried we deserted him, DH stayed home and looked after ddog. He's eaten a little bit of rice and slept a lot, but he did lift his head and wag his tail a tiny bit when I got in so that was nice.

Mrsmadevans · 23/07/2020 21:56

Thank you all for your lovely words yesterday l really appreciate your support 💐
So l took your advice & have been taking a bit of time out today , trying to look after DH and myself emotionally . We sorted Mum and Bob out and instead of just going home and collapsing we went to Brecon mountain centre 🤗. It did us the world of good , so relaxing 🤗
Fire l never use fabric conditioner either.
Lovely playmat Hairspray 😃
Fluffy lovely cross stitch , l love the way the light shows from the snow🤗
Most yours is coming on a treat ! Great work!
Crazy hope Ddog2 is better 💐 That's a Shane DH doesn't like your cross stitch pics especially the coo one it's gorgeous 😍 We have just watched the Torridon hotel in Scotland with Giles Coran , absolutely beautiful scenery you will have wonderful time l am sure 😃
Boot back to school stuff everywhere you look by the seems 😂 no gardening stuff in B&M here either!
70 thank you for the heads up re QVC 😃
AHH Woolly you are a good un l bet he loved it! 😃

pussycatinboots · 23/07/2020 21:58

Crazy I thought you meant DH had eaten a little bit of rice and slept a lot Grin it was when I got to the wagging tail that the penny dropped 🤦🏻‍♀️
The vet told me the painkiller would make Charlie more out-of-sorts than the eye infection iyswim, so it might be the same for your DDog.

Morning!

DS is 6 today and is currently building his Playmobil rocket. 🚀

It's gloomy but dry today. Not like when he was born when it was scorchio!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/07/2020 07:46

Happy birthday Fluffy DS! Hope he enjoys all his Christmas themed goodies :)

Grey here too but not due to rain until the evening so going to head out to a couple more parks today and then snuggle down for family film night when it is due to rain.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/07/2020 07:47

Have decided I want to add some nice green decorations to our red and gold tree this year. Both our cats are senior ladies now so won't destroy things and DS is old enough to be trusted too so can get some proper nice ones.

CrazyBaubles · 24/07/2020 08:21

Thank you MrsMad

😂 puss

Happy Birthday to your DS Fluffy 🥳

most I started with a theme of red and gold but it has expanded to include white and green (with other random bits here and there). Go for it 🎄

Ddog seems a bit perkier this morning so I feel a bit better and less worried about him.

I'm working until 3 today then have to go shopping before having a quiet night in.
Hopefully I'm going to get 2 socially distanced meet ups with friends this weekend - I feel like I haven't seen people for ages so I'm looking forward to it, especially as one includes some cocktails 😊

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/07/2020 08:57

Happy Birthday FluffyDS
Enjoy your Playmobile Rocket Xmas Grin

When one of our male guinea-pigs was castrated he was given a post-op painkiller then we had Loxicam (liquid) for 3 days . We did all the white towel ( to check for bleeding) hay in a tube (not to sleep in hay) .
Guinea-pig painklller is like CrackCocaine - after carefully syringing it into his little mouth on day one , he saw the syringe and cantered over to slurp it . Guinea-pigs go very quiet with pain, I was worried we were going to have a Loxicam Addict . After 3 days he was "Well the Vet always gives extra I'm sure you could scrape another dose . Still a bit tender y'know" Xmas Grin

Load of Washing on
Going to drop off Charity Shop things
Keeping a watch on QVC online . TSV is lights . Not Christmas lights , ones to read or craft by)

NoWordForFluffy · 24/07/2020 09:10

DS has done the rocket and moved on to the Batman Lego (Clayface)!

Grandparents are coming round at about 10am, so he'll move on to their presents, I think! 😂😂 It's always a few frantic days before settling down.

I'm glad DDog seems like he's improving, Crazy. Enjoy your quiet evening.

70, have fun with CiJ, make sure you keep us alerted to interesting bits!

I put the dark load out last night and the lights have just gone out too. Then we'll be on washing catch up as the weather is bad tomorrow and we're away Sun / Mon. Might do a partial load now to keep on top of it!

Happy birthday to your ds fluffy.

We're just going through a car wash have already been food shopping in Lidl.

pussycatinboots · 24/07/2020 09:56

Happy Birthday to DS fluffy how did the Cake turn out?

Crazy I'm sure DDog will be fine now. It could also be the stress of being dragged taken to the vet, and he obviously needed to be fussed over.

We've been replacing the brackets on one side of the conservatory gutter this morning. We had to stop part way through as a pair of baby robins turned up Grin I put them some "mum and fledgling" food and some tiny bits of mealworm - they watched everything we were doing and are still hopping about out there now. They're really sweet and quite tame. Mum popped in to check on them and took some food away with her so I think she might well have her hands full with another chick/brood.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/07/2020 10:01

I love robins, Boots. We have them haranguing us for worms at the allotment!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 24/07/2020 10:21

You know I've got to buy the Bothy fat robin now, don't you?!🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 24/07/2020 10:30

Ha! I love that one too! I have the Christmas donkey which has robins on it.

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 24/07/2020 10:43

Ah, well that would be like a self-portrait for me Grin

CrazyBaubles · 24/07/2020 16:50

No pet addiction issues here 70 - the little sod managed to regurgitate his painkiller and spit it back at me this morning - twice. Makes me so glad I spent £££ on him yesterday and that my life is so glamorous 😂

Oh I love robins puss. We have a few residents, they actually use my bird bath unlike the blackbirds that generally dance around it but don’t use it

Fluffy I love that style of Bothy Thread kits, they’re so cute...

I’m done with work and doing a last minute quick in Sainsbury’s for a particular pair of earrings for my mum then I’m starting my quiet evening 👍🏻

Afternoon everyone.

Happy Birthday to your DS Fluffy hope he enjoys his rocket.

Hope you enjoy your meetups Crazy met with two good friends today, pub lunch, day at the beach, holiday shopping, and a yummy ice cream, does your heart good.
Glad to hear DDog is improving.

I love seeing robins Boots, I always see them in the park when I'm running.

Saw some Orla Kiely mugs today, reminded of a certain lady on here Wink

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/07/2020 20:08

Most green, red and gold decorations will look gorgeous. Especially if you get some fancy ones.

Boots we have a robin that occasionally visits the garden. He's lovely - sits in the tree nearest the patio doors and cheers me up

Fluffy I hope your DS had a lovely day and got everything he wanted.

MrsMad sounds like you had a lovely day with your DH yesterday. So nice that you are taking a bit of time to look after yourselves.

Crazy good to hear that DDog is feeling better today.

I'm still knitting that bloody cardigan but at least I have a mint magnum and Monty Don for company.
