To be honest Boots it's DH that's insisting on the wardrobe. DS has a set of coat hooks just inside his room. His dressing gown is hung there and he usually hangs his school tie ( and his spare there). I'd be happy if his blazer was hung up there but 🤷🏻‍♀️

pussycatinboots · 10/08/2020 21:51

Woolly not your battle then. Take the moral high ground it has a lovely view and if the blazer is on a hanger or a hook, that's a win!

Mrsmadevans · 10/08/2020 23:25

Still waiting for DD2 🙄
She only wants to call in for Mac Donald's! She is expecting a bit much of our patience l think!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2020 23:52

MAHOOSIVE thunderstorm here! Apparently the lightning is amazing if you can be arsed to get out of bed!

sideorderofchips · 10/08/2020 23:59

I want thunder!!! Its too hot here

WreckTangled · 11/08/2020 07:40

I think we might get storms tomorrow afternoon but not sure yet. Hot again today so I think we will go to my parents to swim.

It thundered almost all night here! And the rain was bonkers.

I've just been a dug over another bed and sowed some turnip seeds. I definitely didn't need to water! 😂

You can almost hear the allotment singing after a good rain storm. ❤️

No storms here but my home town was badly flooded :(

Set to be another hot day here. Will get out with DS this morning then shelter with ice creams this afternoon. Would love some rain.

Mrsmadevans · 11/08/2020 09:23

Morning everyone 😃
no storms here overnight either, looking very nice out, just off to the post office returning a package for darling daughter 2 and then off to Mums and Bobs Have a lovely day everyone
😄

pussycatinboots · 11/08/2020 09:53

tiny bit of rain, and some rumblings (although that may have been DH after I fed him salad) quite murky first thing but brighter now.
getting a bit bored with hot weather 🥵
I forgot to buy cornets🍦 so will have to have ice cream from a bowl!

Keep cool 😎
remember the aussies have slip slap slop?
slip on someones greggs sausage roll...🩹
slap the person holding up the queue in the post office...🤬
slop (e) off to avoid arrest for assault...😳😉
🤣🤦‍♀️

WreckTangled · 11/08/2020 10:16

We haven't got any rain or storms forecast. There's the odd 30% chance of a shower over the weekend and that's it but it keeps changing.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2020 10:39

The whole country is under yellow warning of storms apparently. I think we had our share last night! Bonkers storm.

Boots, love your slip, slap, slop variation.

This is my forecast for this afternoon and the rest of the week. I'd just like to point out it is currently gloriously sunny - not hazy. DH is still decorating. Two rooms down, one to go.

Morning everyone.
A little rain last night but no storms just two cats killing each other
Didn't sleep last night so still feeling tired, forecast for today is very sunny. Sitting in front of fan at the moment, but have to get up soon as have to go into town/garden centre/ and do the dreaded ironing Sad

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/08/2020 11:08

Any longtimers on these threads will tell you I'm an ironer Marshmallow but since the start of lockdown I've had my iron out three times and two of those were to iron fabric for face masks. I've got a small pile of a couple of T-shirts and a dress in the bedroom waiting until it's a bit cooler. I'll only start again when we are in formal settings again.

WreckTangled · 11/08/2020 11:14

It is fluffy we always miss them though.

MarshmallowManiac · 11/08/2020 11:31

I know what you mean Woolly, I can't iron when it is hot, the most I can do is a little when it gets cooler. Smile

pussycatinboots · 11/08/2020 14:09

It's hazy here because some thoughtless wanker has got a bloody bonfire on the go.
All doors and windows and curtains shut and I'm gently simmering!🤬🤬🥵

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 11/08/2020 15:16

How selfish of them boots!

Wilkos have put their Spring bulbs (to be planted in the Autumn so they are calling them Autumn bulbs) online. Fab prices, will definitely be getting plenty :)

FireflyGirl · 11/08/2020 15:19

Well, that's not very neighbourly boots. You may need to amend your version of 'slip, slap, slop'.

It's warm here - currently 25 in the living room. We've been outside this morning while the garden was still shady, and are now hiding in the living room, snuggled on the couch, eating strawberries and watching The Lorax.

We nipped to the allotment earlier as well - DS ate some peas and got prickled by thistles, but we've some lovely squashes growing, and (touch wood!!) the purple sprouting broccoli and kalettes are barely nibbled and seem to be doing well. I'll need to build a higher cage for them next year though, I reckon.

The two cauliflower I was gifted have completely bolted, however, and the tomatoes aren't doing much, but they didn't last year either. I have planted them deeper in a different location, so think they maybe need better soil improvement next year.

No rain forecast here until the weekend, so I'll be sending DH tonight to water.

FireflyGirl · 11/08/2020 15:24

I got excited then, most, but you can't order them yet!! I want some alliums for the allotment, and some new tulips for planters at the front of the house.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 11/08/2020 15:26

I can add most of them to my basket fire only some are out of stock. Can you not add any?

FireflyGirl · 11/08/2020 15:33

Ah, I can add some - it was just the first ones I tried.

I might go in-store and see which ones I can pick up. I love tulips...

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 11/08/2020 15:57

Me too fire. I might go a bit bonkers. I have a dream of a lawn in March covered in crocuses and daffodils and then the beds filled with tulips etc.

sideorderofchips · 11/08/2020 16:06

Stupidly hot again here. I hate summer.
