Anyone else too hot in the night? Not a hint of breeze even though all the windows were open! It's getting tedious now. Where's my month of rain in one day? 🥵
Crazy I hope you don't get the hot weather in your camper van - your poor DDog will need a paddling pool!
Shopping later, hopefully some restocking of shelves will have been done they're normally picked bare on a Monday, like we're following locusts!

WreckTangled · 10/08/2020 07:22

Yep too hot here. 30% chance of rain overnight tonight but still forecast low 30's tomorrow.

I'm taking ds to the opticians this morning because he keeps complaining about seeing dots and I'm not sure what to do. Will obvs end up in a cafe for cake after

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2020 08:03

Morning!

I've been to the allotment this morning. We're away this weekend so I need to do stuff that I'd normally be doing then.

I cleared the old broad beans and sowed the rocket seeds from the autumn mix DH bought me. Most / Firefly, these are the seeds if you're wondering what to put in now. I've also ordered some spring cabbage.

It's warm here, but I slept like the dead last night: allotmenting tiredness won over the heat!

Wreck, sounds like migraine doesn't it? Hopefully the optician will have answers.

WreckTangled · 10/08/2020 08:11

He's been saying about it for months. Mainly when he looks at something blue apparently. I'm wondering if it's just the usually flickering you get when you look at something bright but that fact that he keeps mentioning it makes me want to get it checked.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 10/08/2020 08:29

Hope the opticians goes OK wreck!

Thanks for the link fluffy will take a look. Our first sunflower is making its appearance this morning :)

Just back from a run, it is hot here already!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2020 08:47

We really are outliers with the weather at the moment! Not that I'm complaining. 😂

NerosFiddle · 10/08/2020 08:48

Morning.

Boots we are to have a high of 21 today. That's more than hot enough for me though.

Dc wanted to watch YouTube videos of center parcs this morning so I've got peace for half an hour to have a hot cuppa.

NerosFiddle · 10/08/2020 08:49

Fluffy I'm with you

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2020 09:22

Our forecast says high of 24° but when you look at the hourly breakdown it never gets higher than 21°. Clearly one of those is wrong! 🤷‍♀️😂

So glad others like the name Alice too!

Lovely pics Marshmallow

puss don't worry about DDog, he's loving life at the mo and as soon as the sun goes down it cools down massively.

Wreck maybe DS has floaters in his eyes? I've had them since I was a kid and I used to think I had something stuck in my eye until the optician explained it to me.

Lol at the mismatched weather report Fluffy

We're just queueing for the ferry now, we're doing a day trip to Barra. No walks for me today - I'm another one with an ankle issue. I went over on it about 2 years ago then re-injured it doing the couch to 5K a few months ago.
We walked a few miles yesterday and the day before so it's now painful and swollen 🙄

sideorderofchips · 10/08/2020 09:57

Way too hot to sleep in my room. So I slept on the sofa

Going to be 30oc again tomorrow and 32 on Wednesday 🙄

NerosFiddle · 10/08/2020 10:03

This is us today

WreckTangled · 10/08/2020 10:14

Crazy you're correct! He said he's young to have them but otherwise his eyes are great and advised some sunglasses. We got some bendy ones that won't break. We're just having coffee and cake now.

FireflyGirl · 10/08/2020 10:46

Thanks for the comments everyone. DS has been as unhelpful as DH - he suggested Betsy (which is what he calls DH's car, and the robot vacuum cleaner) and [DS]'s baby sister Hmm

I don't think I'm going to do much winter planting, Fluffy. I am struggling already to get up and down off the ground, so the allotment and garden are mostly being left to their own devices. I have broccoli and kalettes in at the allotment, and kale, Swiss chard and spinach seeds that I'm going to plant in the greenhouse once I take the tomatoes out. Think that'll be enough for us.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 10/08/2020 11:13

Finally finished the tree, it was so fiddly!

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/08/2020 11:33

That's beautiful most

We've got another lovely warm day today and then four days of thunderstorms forecast. I've got the last bits of the laundry basket out on the line - presumably if we get the apocalyptic rains that might be coming the baskets will be overflowing before I can wash again.

Picking up DS's uniform this afternoon. He's refusing to come so I hope it fits 🤞

MarshmallowManiac · 10/08/2020 12:23

Good afternoon everyone.
Blistering heat here, we are surrounded by fans and have opened every door and window in the house!

Hope they sort out your Ds's eyes Wreck, and enjoy your cake afterwards Smile

I need to have a good clear out too Fluffy do you have any recommendations please of what veg or flowers I could plant now Smile

Hope you enjoyed your run Most Cross stitch is fab Smile

Enjoy Barra Crazy, hope your ankle feels better soon, I spent the week in Cornwall with a bag of mixed veg on my ankle. Sad

Woke up 3 times in the night Chips it was so hot.

One of my favourite names when I had DS was Derry Neros, I thought it was unusual and lovely, but it didn't meet with much agreement Sad

Good luck with the uniform Woolly, take advantage and have some me time with coffee and cake Heaven

MarshmallowManiac · 10/08/2020 12:24

We have 31 today Neros too hot!

pussycatinboots · 10/08/2020 12:27

Nero I have weather envy Grin
It tried to rain for about 30 seconds, then gave up and ran away!

Wreck That's good Smile - I had/have loads of "floaters" in my eyes which are really noticeable with pure blue sky or green fields - and also pure white, so mention it to the teacher when he starts school. It does help having a tinted lens, or staying out of really bright light which makes them very annoying! Good call, Crazy!.

Crazy I love Alice as a name too.

pussycatinboots · 10/08/2020 12:34

Firefly Betsy is lovely but it's not Matilda 😉

most that looks fab! You're rattling along with it.

Woolly 🤞🏻 if not he hopefully will grow into it next year. 😉

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/08/2020 12:55

Boots my senior school mac still fitted me in sixth form 😂

NerosFiddle · 10/08/2020 13:01

Marshmallow I actually know someone called Derry. My dh would never have allowed it though not being from here.

Boots i could be doing with it about 5 degrees less. It's very muggy and causing my asthma to play up.

NerosFiddle · 10/08/2020 13:02

Woolly it was a good job ds came with me to get his. It's only 2-3. They're massive so hopefully we'll get the full year out of it.

WreckTangled · 10/08/2020 13:04

I have one floater in one eye.

It's really hot again. It's a bit much really my eyebrows are sweaty. This afternoon the dc are going to youth club and then we're out to dinner. Ds says he doesn't want to go to youth club but I know it's just because he's nervous as hasn't been before.

I think tomorrow we will go to my parents to use the pool.
