@NerosFiddle

Morning all.

I tried to post 4 times yesterday and it didn't work. So I'm not holding out hope that this does either.

We're to get mad high temperatures of 18 today.

Biddy can you get home ok with the new lockdowns? We were going to go to my sil's in Donegal but afraid we wouldn't get back 😂.

Nero have had awful trouble posting too l thought l might have been banned but for God knows what l don't know lol Grin
WreckTangled · 09/08/2020 16:37

It's a cool 34° here 🥵 it's been so much easier having dh home today it's been a nice day. Shame he's back to work tomorrow 😭

Mrsmadevans · 09/08/2020 16:41

@Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear

I was expecting another sweltering day but we are on the Cardiff Bay Barrage in jumpers! On to Dyffryn Gardens soon.
It's hot here but very cloudy , think it must be boiling where they have the sun, my Hay fever has been playing me up today , sore throat tired sneezing , trouble Is it makes you think you have COVID! Hmm I have taken an antihistamine Grin Most your pics are lovely , what was it like in Duffryn Gardens pray tell hope you had a great time Smile

@TheWoollybacksWife

DD1 has got a friend called Matilda. She either gets her full name or occasionally Tilda. The first queen of England (in her own right) should have been Matilda but she didn't inherit (principally due to being female Angry) Empress Matilda
Erm, this is why our cat is called Matilda. Blush It means "Battle Maiden", the alternative version (pos french) is Maud. NDNs had a proper hard bastard of a cat, so Tilly needed a strong name to grow into. Smile She has, I have scars to prove it! Hmm
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 09/08/2020 17:12

I think Matilda is a good strong name fire although I personally would use Tilda as a nickname.

Dyffryn was lovely mrs. The gardens are not in their usual beautifully managed state but i quite liked the wildness of them. It was all managed very well and wasn't busy at any point

pussycatinboots · 09/08/2020 17:16

Firefly have you asked DS for any helpful suggestions, or is it likely that Peppa would be a bit embarrassed in 18yrs time when she's job-hunting? 😉

NoWordForFluffy · 09/08/2020 17:21

Boots, given that my kids name their toys in the same way that blokes give each other nicknames (Spiky = the hedgehog, Otty = the otter, Batty = the bat etc), I feel that the baby would end up called Baby! At least nobody would put her in the corner though. 😂😂

pussycatinboots · 09/08/2020 17:29

fluffy Well, yes 🤣
I suppose some other less nice descriptive names might feature too...

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 09/08/2020 17:53

DS names everything Frankie which would work for a girl or boy if you went Frank or Francesca

We have never been to Duffryn Most we want to see the house so have been waiting for it to be finished but we have missed the boat with the pandemic Hmm .Never mind when Dd2 moves in to her house in Cardiff God knows when how long is a piece of string? we will be spending more time there so we will be going then Smile
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 09/08/2020 18:08

To be honest mrs it is worth going just for the gardens

MarshmallowManiac · 09/08/2020 18:38

Evening everyone.

Firefly I knew a lady once who had a daughter called Matilda, and never called her anything but Tils which I think is lovely. If your surname is what I'm thinking, I feel it would go lovely with that name. Smile

Are you mad Chips Grin although secretly I'm a little jealous but can't run yet because of my foot. At least tell me you ran early morning! Smile

My DH is back tomorrow too Wreck, Sad feel it will be really lonely when I'm having lunch.

WreckTangled · 09/08/2020 18:40

Marshmallow dh has only been off for today so I won't miss him as much as you'll miss you dh Grin

I did halloumi wrapped in bacon for dinner. So tasty. The dc and dh also had prawns 🤮

MarshmallowManiac · 09/08/2020 18:44

Oh that's ok then Wreck Grin

Just waiting on the slow cooker to finish our Cowboy Beans, quite hungry now after our long walk. My DCs went on a Swan pedalo around the lake, wish DH and I had gone on one too next time Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 09/08/2020 19:01

We had Greek lamb, roasted baby potatoes, tzatziki and rocket salad. Then I hung around outside waiting for the ice cream van. It's a lovely evening - I've had an ice cold glass of rose and I'm now chilling with my knitting and watching the rugby league with DH.

WreckTangled · 09/08/2020 19:10

I wish we had an ice cream van. Will make do with some Greek yoghurt in a bit probably.

NerosFiddle · 09/08/2020 19:22

Mrs maybe you know who reported us Wink

MarshmallowManiac · 09/08/2020 19:33

Sounds lovely Woolly we are going to see the sunset in the park this evening Smile

pussycatinboots · 09/08/2020 20:02

Nero what's the temp like with you? I might just be a bit jealous Grin

most Francesca Cumani shortens her name by dropping the Fran to Cesca, which sounds very much like Jessica if you're not listening properly.

CrazyBaubles · 09/08/2020 20:52

Oh my god you chatty lot, I've only just caught up. This is the first bit of signal I've had since yesterday when I posted.

We're on Uist (pronounces Wist apparently) for the next 2 days after catching the ferry today.

It's truly stunning here. I'm just gutted I haven't seen a puffin yet, I set my heart on seeing one. Have seen seals and DH spotted a dolphin though.
I think the heat wave has moved up here, it's been boiling the last few days. We walked to a lighthouse today and I think I've got some sunburn coming 😎

Firefly I've never met anyone called Matilda but I like the name.
I also like the name Alice which no one else seems to!

NoWordForFluffy · 09/08/2020 21:23

Alice is DD's middle name, Crazy (named after our nan).

Your trip sounds amazing. ❤️❤️

sideorderofchips · 09/08/2020 21:32

Nope I ran at 2pm 😂😂 I can only run when the kids dad is here to have them

It was a good run though

MarshmallowManiac · 09/08/2020 22:31

Evening all. feel like Dixon of Dock Green Grin

Uist sounds fabulous Crazy hope you get to see the puffins Smile Have some sunburn (peeling) on my back. Sad I love the name Alice Crazy it sounds so regal (as in Queen Victoria's daughter).

Oh Wreck I wish I had an ice cream van too Grin that and a cream cake shop.

OMG Chips truly insane Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 09/08/2020 22:34

These are pics of the lake in the park today, and this evening's sunset. Smile
