I forgot to say, it felt really autumnal at the allotment. The light was different and it was misty and everything was dewy.

It's like someone has turned the lights off at night all of a sudden too. Has anybody else noticed that the nights seem significantly longer now (yes, I know it's what happens, but I've really noticed it this month)!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 07/08/2020 08:45

Yes I noticed it at 4am when it didn't get light for a while after DS woke up fluffy.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/08/2020 08:57

I noticed last night when I came out of work and it was dark at 22.00 and even though it was humid there was an autumnal smell in the air Fluffy.

pussycatinboots · 07/08/2020 09:20

It's been like that for a few days as an early riser. I can't wait for Sept so I can put my fairy lights up around the conservatory (inside) then I know Christmas is just over ===> there 🎄
Oh, and for me on 31/8 sunrise will be at 06.18 and sunset at 20.00
Nero yours will be c06.30 and c20.20
Firefly yours will be c06.10 and c19.50
without giving too much away Wink
Autumn is definitely on the way, even if it is blinkin hot today🥵🍦

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2020 09:24

06.19 and 20.03 for me, Boots.

It's not hot here yet. I don't think we have it as warm. Benefit of living on the NW coast even if we don't get the sea much round here.

pussycatinboots · 07/08/2020 09:26

fluffy that allotment looks a lot greener than it did a few weeks back!
you've got cosmos too

Woolly The only things I know about Slash are from Top Gear (excellent rendition of "Jessica")

Marshmallow definitely add Scotland to your list of places to go, it's amazing.

The amount of people who have pulled faces and looked so confused about why we'd come to Scotland baffles me. We were here for Christmas too, travelling around the north coast for part of it and we stumbled on some amazing beaches. I've attached a pic of one at Balnakeil - it was freezing but stunning.

Good luck with the knitting why

I get what you're saying Fluffy. I noticed the day before we left for holiday, I got up and it was that weird blue dim light, I could see but I had to switch the light on. That felt very festive to me Xmas Smile

most I know it's not deliberate but 🤢! Glad you got an extra hour.

Good luck today Wreck. Maybe start over today but with a bit of a talk about what you're expecting / what the consequences are for misbehaving? Always worked on DSis and me!

fluffy slight breeze taking the edge off owains weather forecast was wrong, there's hardly any cloud living room currently 23.6, front (big) bedroom 25.4 (including Charlie in the window - he's baking), back bedroom I used last night 22.7 (including Tilly, who has brains)Wink it won't stay like that as the front faces east, so later the back will get all the force of the sun, and the back bedroom is above the boiling hot and rather crap polycarbonate conservatory roof.🥵 [puddle emoji]

pussycatinboots · 07/08/2020 09:37

Crazy I've been to Scotland!
I've been to Ayr and Hamilton (stayed at Kilmarnock) and Musselburgh.
DH has been loads before he acquired me. Loch Ness, Perth, up into the highlands...he'd go back in a heartbeat.
I prefer N Wales tbh I don't like bagpipes
Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2020 09:46

Since being in Glasgow for work in 2016/2017 we've been back up regularly, we travelled round loads during that time too. We love it up there. We're back up in the Highlands next summer for our main holiday.

Boots, it's 22.7 in the room I'm in. No idea about everyone else's room! They do have thermometers in, but I'm on hold to John Lewis (for work!) so I'm trapped!

Are the big fluffy ones Cosmos?

I downloaded the Lidl app and you get £5 off £25 first spend and some vouchers so I saved £6 today and then it gives you a virtual scratch card and I just got £20 off my next shop Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2020 10:14

Ooh. That's good. I'll have to try that, Wreck!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 07/08/2020 10:20

It's the best thing to happen to me all summer 😂

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 07/08/2020 10:22

Just tried to go to the park across the road but it was too hot. DS now getting his costume on for the pool.

That's some great savings Wreck!

pussycatinboots · 07/08/2020 10:43

fluffy the bushy and, well, fluffy one on the right in the first pic look like my cosmos before the flowers burst open Grin

FireflyGirl · 07/08/2020 11:29

Fluffy I am always surprised - we haven't needed to turn the bedroom light on for months, as it's rarely been fully dark before 10.30-11. Suddenly last night I was sat in the dark at 9.30!!

Most I've been up since 4.30 as DS wet the bed too (his own, fortunately, not mine!). I only stripped it on Tuesday and hadn't washed his sheet yet, and then we had to strip it again last night as he had an upset tummy and (sorry, tmi) didn't notice he had poo on his leg before getting into bed. So, all 3 sheets, duvet and blankets in the wash. He ended up laid on a big fleece, with a smaller one covering him.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2020 11:30

I did wonder if they were, as the next plot has some in flower next to my runner beans!

And it's very green with weeds! Plus veg. Mostly weeds.

Morning everyone. The weather is a little warmer this morning, and set to improve YAYY. We are heading to a nearby beach, and hopefully a yummy ice cream Grin

Haha Boots I feel you should indulge in a fantastic foodie treat just for you today. Cake Wine Your fairy lights sound lovely. Yes I agree Boots we are getting lovely long, long days at the moment

Thanks Wreck*, is it the Lidl plus app to get the discount?

OMG that photo is fabulous Crazy, will definitely take a trip to Scotland in the not too distant future. Smile Would definitely jumper up to see that view.

Fabulous pics of your allotment Fluffy you must have put in such a lot of work. Smile Yes I feel that the nights seem to be stretching out too. Would love to get up to the Highlands too.

Oh no Most have felt that joy too. Enjoy your paddling pool. Smile

WreckTangled · 07/08/2020 12:18

Yes it is Smile

MarshmallowManiac · 07/08/2020 12:49

Thanks Wreck struggling at the moment as can seem to get service here.

FireflyGirl · 07/08/2020 12:53

Ooh, apparently, I'm A Celebrity is relocating to a castle in the UK this year.

pussycatinboots · 07/08/2020 13:04

Firefly I love this quote:
ITV hasn't revealed the location, apart from saying it's "in the countryside".
Well, that narrows it down a bit Hmm
If they're filming it in November it might be a tad chilly in those sleeping bags Grin

pussycatinboots · 07/08/2020 13:10

erm, I have rain!🌦☔

admittedly not a lot of rain - I suspect Firefly and mosts DSs would be able to pee harder Grin but it's still rain! Another epic fail from the BBC weather forecast🤦‍♀️

MarshmallowManiac · 07/08/2020 13:12

Well that's a bit silly for ITV to say, how many castles are in the middle of the town, most are surrounded by rambling countryside aren't they Grin We need a bigger hint than that don't we!

pussycatinboots · 07/08/2020 13:15

This would be lovely and warm for the precious celebs...

I may have fallen into a big hole and got wet there once on a school trip🤦‍♀️
