TheWoollybacksWife · 06/08/2020 16:25

Crazy your views look amazing, as does your plum crumble most.

Biddy you are putting me to shame with your productivity. Crafting in the early morning with views of the Atlantic sounds idyllic.

I'm hoping to get my knitting done by Sunday evening and off in the post to my niece on Monday. Then I'm starting a pair of socks for one of the DDs to go in her Christmas stocking.

I'm slowly but surely building up my present stash. This week I've had guitar bits and bobs arrive for DS. He's busy teaching himself the Metallica back catalogue so I'm also on the lookout for some merchandise. I've seen a t-shirt and a James Hetfield funko pop that I think he'd like and he's dropped heavy hints about a hoody. In my madder moments I speculated about cross stitching a guitar strap but I don't think that will work.

Fluffy and Why have you heard the rumour that Slash (GnR) lives locally? The man who fitted our kitchen blind told me. Would I recognise him in Tesco without his top hat? Am I just gullible? 🤣🤣

WreckTangled · 06/08/2020 16:33

Having a shit day. The dc have been awful and it's just so hot. It's only 28° here so not sure how I'm going to manage the 34° we're predicted tomorrow onwards.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/08/2020 16:36

Sorry to hear that wreck :( is there a nearby wood you can go to tomorrow? Woods usually stay nice and cool.

WreckTangled · 06/08/2020 16:53

I've got to go food shopping tomorrow. Usually takes three hours because the supermarket is so far away. Lots of woods but I really don't think they'll be cool it's just so muggy everywhere. I'm just in a bad mood, sorry. I got them a new paddling pool and had to stop filling it after five minutes because they were having a complete screaming match, they've trashed their room too and poor dh is going to have to come home to it all again.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/08/2020 18:30

Your kids sound like they're as much trouble as mine sometimes, Wreck. Pains in the arse.

Biddy, you're so productive! I'm impressed.

Woolly, I hadn't heard that rumour. Were you told where??

Hope you are feeling better Wreck Flowers my DCs have been slightly crappy today too, shouting at every opportunity 'it's too cold today' 'we can't go out in the rain'. But I turn the proverbial blind eye/deaf ear and they soon stop. I find feeding them eases the pain Grin, at least they can't moan while their mouths are full! Smile

Thanks Mrs Glad you managed to get some us time today, we are going to take your recommendation on board and visit Bude on the way home. Grin

We have had a lovely day today (albeit rainy), went to St Ives, ventured onto the beach and had a lovely lunch which contained vegetable wraps with home made chunky chips (so yum), home made burger, panini, and wedges with pulled pork (extremely lovely).
For dinner we all had pizzas, mine was Hoi Sin Duck and was really tasty. Of course this was all followed by Ice cream I had Sea Salted Caramel. Smile

MarshmallowManiac · 06/08/2020 21:23

We also bought Sea Salt fudge and Chocolate fudge God sounds like I'm always eating Grin

FireflyGirl · 06/08/2020 21:43

Evening. I am very jealous of holidays/days out/eating in a restaurant. DH is still very anxious about it all, and the numbers of new cases are going up so that's unlikely to change in time for us to take advantage of the Eat Out offer.

I went in two shops (!!) today, though, to get boxes/bags for sorting the crap house. Living the dream here, I tell you!

Boots they're looking wonderful! I'd never grown cosmos until about 3 years ago, and now I love them. They're so easy, the slugs don't bother with them, they grow huge and really fill up the space, and the flowers are generally gorgeous!

Wow Wreck, I'm glad it's not that warm here. We're forecast 30-ish tomorrow, I'm already planning how DS and I will hide in the house with all windows, curtains and doors closed! Sorry the kids are playing up GinWine

FireflyGirl · 06/08/2020 21:44

Maniac you're supposed to be always eating on holiday Wink

MarshmallowManiac · 06/08/2020 21:50

Well I'm doing well then Firefly Grin she says eating fudge

MarshmallowManiac · 06/08/2020 21:53

Never grown Cosmos before Firefly but I think I will try them in the Spring as they look so beautiful Smile

Mrsmadevans · 06/08/2020 22:06

I am sure you will love it Maniac l hope it isn't too busy for you though Hmm loving the sound of your food too Grin
Firefly that is what we are doing tomorrow , it does work too unbelievably the house remains cool thank God Grin
Tried The Deceived but l didn't like it , l thought the acting was crap sorry Nero perhaps l should have persevered but l don't like sex on screen it's so yukky. I am not a prude l just think it's so obvious and bores me to death. I realise l may be strange Grin

CrazyBaubles · 06/08/2020 22:48

why the fairy glen wasn't muddy today but it was busy so didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
Thoroughly enjoyed the beach though (pics attached, it was beautiful).

Marshmallow is it madly busy there? We were torn between Scotland and Cornwall but came here hoping it would be quieter.

Also, if it makes you feel better, today I've eaten cereal, nachos followed by cake for lunch and hot dogs followed by ice cream for tea washed down with 2 glasses of wine

most I hope you're feeling better now.

Biddy you've been so busy! All your projects look amazing.
How are you feeling about being reassigned in work (again)?

Sounds like you're getting organised Woolly.
If you find anything funky guitar themed, let me know. My dad plays and I always struggle for gifts for him (and he has a big birthday next year, only 3 weeks after Christmas).

Wreck you have my sympathy. How old are your dc?

MrsMad I think Simmy is asking to live with you!

You want to slow down with that rock & roll lifestyle of yours Firefly 😂

MarshmallowManiac · 06/08/2020 22:58

Fabulous pic Crazy have never been to Scotland but would really love to visit. You have made me feel a lot better my darling, but tomorrow I am adamant come Hell or high water I will enjoy a cream tea, because how can you visit Cornwall and not enjoy one! Grin It is not too busy here at the moment, but the other day when it started to get a little mad we headed to the quieter beaches and we found it lovely and relaxing. If you are ever in the St Ives region, Hayle is a fabulous beach. Smile

Will let you know how I get on in Bude Mrs Smile

Morning all,
Mrs Lovely pic of Bobs cat. Charlie used to do that when he was allowed out - it's a small part of the reason he stays in now (nearly a stowaway in a take-away delivery car)
Crazy I have very severe beach envy.Grin
Marshmallow I have very severe food envy.Grin
Biddy I have very severe talent envy.Grin
Firefly I'm spending all day inside, although it's a bit grey at the mo, with the curtains closed to keep cool.
I slept in the spare room last night - best idea yet! I got to starfish and take up the whole bed.Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/08/2020 07:10

Woolly I had not heard about Slash living locally, although I would not know him if I tripped over him.

Biddy you had a very creative day yesterday very impressed. Me and my daughter have decided we are going to learn to knit (last time I tried it went really badly but up for another go).

WreckTangled · 07/08/2020 07:16

Crazy dd is 10 and ds is 7. It looks beautiful where you are.

Food shopping this morning. Wish me luck!

pussycatinboots · 07/08/2020 07:37

Wreck I really hope you have a better day today.🛒

why good luck with the knitting.🧶

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2020 08:01

Stunning photos, Crazy. Scotland is absolutely beautiful. Jaw-droppingly so in many places.

The kids' godfather's family have a property right on the north coast, in Durness. It's just amazing there.

I've just been to the allotment to give it a preemptive water. I'm not sure it needed it, but it got it anyway! I picked some beans, peas and blackberries while I was there.

I took a photo of the front of my plot where I threw my wildflower seeds. It looks bonkers unkempt.

I have only ever been to Edinburgh and would love to see the rest of Scotland. Watched an Escape to the Country this week in Aberdeenshire and it looked amazing.

Was woken at 4am by DS urinating on me (in his sleep not deliberately!). He then didn't go back to sleep. At 6:20 I handed him to DH and managed another hour of sleep.

Need to get the paddling pool filled as it is going to be hot!
