Neros yesterday's breakfast was pancakes and maple syrup, along with a pot of tea and apple juice.
Today was a full Scottish (haggis swapped for an extra sausage and black pudding donated to DH), again with a pot of tea and apple juice we've just finished and I am stuffed!

puss if I watch SCD, I don't start until about 4 weeks in and I watch it the day after it's on so I can fast forward all the talking / the rehearsal videos and the judges comments - I literally watch the dances and the scores.
Also, I know Noel isn't a lot of people's cup of tea but I love him - not sure why, he just seems lovely.

We're just about to check out. Fingers crossed for better weather today please, yesterday was awful and I really want to enjoy a walk along the beach!

pussycatinboots · 05/08/2020 10:39

Crazy I think it's the change of attitude from Paul as well with GBBO - it's like he's become a bit of a bitch/shaking hands with everyone. You never know which side of bed he's been kicked out of.
Pru gets on my nerves - she's not Mary!
Have a lovely walk with DDog.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/08/2020 10:47

I love Noel too!

Boots, I feel worse after the first night of loads of sleep. But I'm starting to feel perky now! 😂😂

Neros, I think I'm just exhausted. I've had some awful tiredness headaches recently, so needed to buck my ideas up. And I'm clearly getting old, as I find myself agreeing that and hour before midnight is worth two after! I'm sure that came from gran (Why, do you know?).

Good news re LoD!

We watch on catch up for that reason, Crazy. You have to start at least an hour behind! I cannot stand Tess!

I doubt he'll be able to shake hands this year. Small mercies! 😂

Just got dd and I a Costa between appointments and it cost £4 for two drinks and two cakes. Ridiculous. I'm going to get fat this month.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 05/08/2020 11:16

Fluffy, Yes I think that was a gran special. (Sat in the chair of knowledge)

pussycatinboots · 05/08/2020 11:17

Firefly pics of garden including one of DH bum, sorry
Don't worry about the bench Wink that situation will not happen again - and we're going to change the colour as I've no blue left - I'd love bright pink but suspect DH will only agree to purple.

Wreck Would it normally have been £14? Shock Can you tell we always take a picnic/flask Grin Lordy, I sound like my Gran - and fluffy that is exactly what my Gran would have said.

I think it would have been £10. No vat plus eat out to help out. We're in ikea now Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 05/08/2020 15:14

Afternoon everyone.
Shopping list for next year for the garden I feel would be African Lilies (seem to be everywhere in Cornwall), Poppies, and possibly Cornflowers, also love any nice purple flowers like Lavender and Violets. Smile

I'm with you Neros, don't really watch it since it moved to Channel 4, not mad about the presenters either.

Sound like lovely trips Crazy, amazing breakfast.

I do germination of the fittest too Fluffy Grin

Hope you enjoyed your slumber Boots

Glad to hear LOD is nearly finished, loved the other episodes Why

Spent a lovely morning at the beach but rain stopped play Sad but not before a wonderful Cornish ice cream topped with Clotted cream and choc orange segments was enjoyed. (Can you tell I love ice cream guys Smile)
We also enjoyed a lovely lunch of prawn cocktail open sandwich, various melts and a yummy salad for really cheap thankfully (EOTHO). We are now back at the cottage watching the rain from the warm. Smile

Quickly popping on to say I am typing this on my new phone!

Will catch up in the morning:)

NoWordForFluffy · 05/08/2020 20:09

Most, maybe you can sort Mrs' phone out too?! I don't know if she's managed yet! 😂😂

Morning!

It's sunny today. Woooo! It's washing day. 😂 I did put washing out yesterday lunchtime and it's still there as it must've got wet then partially dry a few times before the showers stopped. Hopefully it's dried overnight.

The food sounds lovely, Marshmallow.

Wreck, good job the offer is August only! We are only taking advantage a couple of times as I'm working all month other than 31st, so it's not really practical to use it.

WreckTangled · 06/08/2020 08:16

Fluffy there's a hungry horse nearby and on Mondays kids meals are £1 and you can still have the 50% off, it's to ridiculous. It's more ridiculous because it means you can go out for an unhealthy meal for less money (adult steak is £5 that day) than it costs to make a big healthy chicken salad for the family Hmm I think it's outrageous but am also a hypocrite Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/08/2020 08:25

DH isn't comfortable eating in yet and it doesn't apply to take away so we can't take advantage :( He did mention using it when we go to Bluestone but we are there for the weekend so it won't apply.

NerosFiddle · 06/08/2020 08:59

Morning.

All of the nice places that's doing the offer have been booked up for the whole month. I can and will go out for breakfast or lunch a couple of days though.

Right, time to put the clothes out on the line. It's overcast but needs must.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/08/2020 09:13

Bloody hell, Wreck. I might see if our Hungry Horse does the same!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 06/08/2020 09:21

Whoop. Booked for Monday

We still have £15 on a gift card from DS' birthday meal, so it should be totally free!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 06/08/2020 10:24

Morning ☀️

The offer is almost everywhere here and we were in a camper van we're picking up something to eat pretty much everyday so it's been great for us.
We were at a cafe yesterday and a man came back in to say he was concerned they hadn't billed him correctly as he'd been undercharged.

Amazing deals there Wreck

We're moving on from Skye today. We have a few stops along the way (we want to walk the Fairy Glen and across a beach which has dinosaur prints) before getting the ferry to Lewis / Harris. I may have to buy a tweed purse or something while I'm there!

Pics added of sunset yesterday, it was beautiful 😊

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 06/08/2020 10:53

Crazy, myself and Fluffy have walked the Fairy Glen as I recall it was exceptionally muddy the day we went but it was still beautiful, I am a little jealous.

WreckTangled · 06/08/2020 10:56

Fluffy we're going Monday too Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 06/08/2020 11:31

Morning everyone.

Thanks Fluffy a bit too nice really, Wink Good job it is only for August.

I'm sure you all know but Costa are giving you a free coffee to come back to them, so we should all take advantage of this shouldn't we Grin It's on the Costa app, if you download it they give you 300 points (enough for a free cuppa). I haven't met up with any of my friends while I've been home, but maybe I will do so in August (Monday to Weds Wink )

Crazy the sunset looks fabulous, enjoy the fairy glen.

We are heading to St Ives for the day, it is supposed to be a little warmer but at the moment it is still overcast Sad We will probably venture to Hayle beach as it is so lovely, and have booked a meal in St Ives for this evening at a little Italian place. Really looking forward to it. Could even possibly head to Willy Waller's ice cream parlour Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/08/2020 13:09

What a beautiful view crazy

Suffering with horrible period pains today. Have taken paracetamol and Ibuprofen which has helped but not got rid of the pain :(

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/08/2020 14:21

The pain has finally passed so have done some baking and now doing my Cross stitch :)

BiddyPop · 06/08/2020 14:48

Hi all, I’ve been mad busy with work, then almost no internet out west, and back to finish off work things this week on my temp assignment. (And only going back to my proper job for 2-3 weeks as I’m being reassigned again!).

But I have actually been busy crafting for a change, so a few photos to follow. I brought my sewing machine to the holiday house (we both drove so I had room! 🤣), and got 3 burp cloths fully made and 12 more cut and sewn ready to turn (I actually turned and ironed those this morning so only need to top stitch all the way round now to finish those). I also made 6 cushion covers that I had originally intended for Christmas about 8 years ago for DBIL’s house, so now just need 4 of 1 size and 2 of a larger size inserts to finish ready for December. And I have done the ironing part of the remaining 5 placemats for a DAunt’s Christmas present - I completed 1 first to see how it would work and taught myself mitred corners in the process. (I also bought more lovely cotton just before holidays to make a set for our house here, and still more cotton on holidays for some Christmas ones!!). Grin well, I have been making great strides in clearing out my older stash!!

I kept up my knitting the evenings we watched tv so the scarf is now about 3’ long.

And I spent my sleepless early mornings cross stitching looking over the Atlantic, I finished 2 more bookmarks while away and made a good start on another (Caravan pattern). I had just finished off the holly leaves recently - which I had probably started about 5 years ago Blush

Still no decisions on where to spend Christmas this year.

And mostly just keeping on keeping on really - work, buying food and feeding the family, and hunkering down with my crafts.

BiddyPop · 06/08/2020 14:51

Placemat, burp cloth and latest finished cross st. I still
Need to put backing on the bookmarks and finish them off yet though.
