I just noticed we only have 20 posts left and I'm off to the allotment! So here is thread 7!

Might need a few more stitches yet, most Wink

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/07/2020 17:49

Useless you two are, it's as clear as day what it is Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/07/2020 17:56

I love the end of term. It's always lovely to read reports. I might have been lucky but all three of mine have had really positive comments over the years. DD1 teaches over a dozen different classes. She doesn't feel quite the same glow about report time 🤣

It's this:

Congratulations Crazy ( someone was talking about Imposter Syndrome today ( on LBC) I think one of the team on 'Loose Women' saying they convinced themselves they were Kaye Adams to boost themselves to present )

You know what they say "Fake It Till You Make It" Xmas Grin but yes they wouldn't have offered it if you couldn't so it .

Waiting welcome to the Christmas Coundown.
It's a lovely thread , no cries of " It's July " or talk like that .

And if you want to Volunteer , someone has to have a Thread Baby (have we got one this year? ) . I would take one for the team, but that ship has sailed , left harbour and been sunk by battleships .

As you work in Retail though , you'll be called upon to give us updates on the Tradition that is : The Christmas CF Shopper / Nightmare Shopper

The ones that claim you've "ruined Christmas" because they decide on 23rd Dec at five minutes to close that they need a LOL Doll ..

sideorderofchips · 13/07/2020 18:15

Wandering in to say hey

NoWordForFluffy · 13/07/2020 18:18

Firefly has this year's thread baby, 70! The vacancy will open for next year though.

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/07/2020 18:23

Hi Chips how's your recovery going?

I've been meaning to say I follow the bargain thread but never post because I never find anything bargainous to share. I did get some lovely stuff from Rex London and Lisa Angel but I was happiest to bag 2 of the bargain (£70 reduced to £17.50) Sylvanian Family houses from the Argos clearance. My niece is collecting them this week and they are for my goddaughter and another great niece for their birthdays.

CrazyBaubles · 13/07/2020 18:48

Thank you everyone. I'm so pleased 😁

Firefly if your Fitbit says you exercise, I'd take that and put your feet up!

I don't recognise it either sorry most Xmas Grin

Woolly similar here about reports. DH hates writing them. He makes me proof read them because he teaches in welsh but writes the reports in English so I do a spelling / grammar check. I like to highlight the mistakes in red on the computer so I'm like a teacher marking his work 😂

I think imposter syndrome is a female thing 70 - I've never heard of a man having a case but apparently it's rife in women - even when I was applying for my current job I spoke to my boss (he's lovely & weve been friends for a long time). I was talking myself out of it by pointing out all the experience I didn't have and he said "you can learn how to do the job, I don't understand why you're talking like that. I've never wondered if I deserve a job - I'm smart and I work hard, of course I should have my job."
It's stuck with me so now I act confident in work and deal with the worries at home, because I know I'm capable when I really think about it.

Hey chips 👋

NoWordForFluffy · 13/07/2020 18:50

Hi, Chips!

Good bargain-grabbing, Woolly!

Morning!

I'm finally rid of my hangover today. That one was EPIC. 😭 🤕

Gloomy start this morning. Not sure what the forecast is like for today though.

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 14/07/2020 07:43

Crazy well done - it's not lack of impostor syndrome with men (well, a lot of men) it's over confidence!

most that's so obviously a bit of sea...or sky Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 14/07/2020 07:49

Oh yeah, Boots. I work with someone who's thick as two short planks, very limited in capability, yet overpaid and had the nerve to ask about bonus payments (pre-COVID).

But he's somehow related to one of the owners, so gets kept on.

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 14/07/2020 08:09

It was a snow covered roof people, no idea how you didn't get that from my very detailed stitching 😂

Glad the hangover is gone fluffy :)

I am not volunteering for thread baby for 2021, just putting that out there now!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/07/2020 08:12

Oh, obviously, Most. Xmas Grin

I'm 44 this year, so definitely no 2021 baby here!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 14/07/2020 08:51

fluffy ah, the raging nepotism. I remember it well. Completelyunqualified, been there 6 months and yet mysteriously promoted (by their Dads boss) while I'd been there years and worked my way up.

Sorry most, I was up and sewing at 5 so am a bit boggle eyed at the mo.

pussycatinboots · 14/07/2020 08:53

Oh, and I'm not volunteering either Grin I'm 48 and have rapidly shrivelling ovaries and never changed a nappy in my life

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/07/2020 09:29

I'm 52 and nearly choked last week when I had to produce a urine sample for a pregnancy test before my op. Periods are now happening with the frequency of a Preston Guild. Mind you it was all worth it just to tell DH that it had to be done. Only down side was that I couldn't see his face when he read the text.

The test was negative 😅

NoWordForFluffy · 14/07/2020 09:30

I had to do my own test, Woolly! Get you with your free one. 😂😂

KVlovesWinter · 14/07/2020 09:36

Good morning

Another cloudy day here. How's the weather where you all are? It's not feeling like summer here anymore hopefully it'll get nice again soon.

Theres definitely no chance of a 2021 baby here either 😁 2 teens and an almost teen is enough for me.

I'm going to do some cross stitch today, hopefully can start painting the fence if the rain stays away.

Does anyone make their own Christmas cards? Had an email from Hobbycraft for their card making stuff, it looks really nice.
