I just noticed we only have 20 posts left and I'm off to the allotment! So here is thread 7!

Woolly I'm glad the needles are already in use Smile it's awful to be forced to "down tools" iyswim through injury/pain. I tend not to knit much in the summer for the same reason - I hate warm knees! Did you find something for the tea towels?

Mrs but surely you'd just shout at her? stress relief Wink

Off to Sains later, I think. DH said he'd walk home while I shop Grin it's just under 4 miles, so don't feel too sorry for him!

Morning!

We've had some rain overnight. Nothing major, but enough to save me having to water the allotment!

Mrs, your mum is a bloody liability. I'm glad you walked away and left her to it though!

I need a good walk, Boots. That's what I miss now I'm WFH. I need to move more!

My cross stitch has arrived! Am in work but DH was at home so took it in. Can't wait to get home :)

FireflyGirl · 13/07/2020 09:29

How exciting, most!

I also need to move around more, Fluffy. Motivating DS to leave the house is more hassle than it's worth half the time, but I've said we'll walk to the playground today and see if it's open yet. My hips were bad last night, so I need to go for a walk but it'll be sloooooow.... And it's just started raining Hmm

DH made the martinis, I think the recipe was on the liqueur he got. We still have the bottle, so when I can get to that part of the garage I'll hunt it down for you all.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/07/2020 11:09

Ahhh, we've had the kids' school reports and they're amazing. I may have cried a bit! 😭😂

Firefly your garage sounds like mine crammed Grin
most are you starting it tonight?? my lions are finished except for the backstitch on their faces. I've started to finish another one. Blush
fluffy ah, the "something in my eye" Smile. My mum used to shout at me and make me cry when the reports went out. I slightly improved with age. HmmGrin
DH didn't walk back as it started to rain before we left, so he's tidying/trimming and edging the garden between showers.

MarshmallowManiac · 13/07/2020 11:27

Morning everyone, hope you are all hunky dory.
Beautiful day here, the sun is splitting the stones. Have to head out in a while and water my sunflowers.

Woolly happy to hear you are doing so well. Me and DH love the Repair Shop, they are all so talented aren't they.

Mrs Flowers

There's a pile of ironing staring at me, I am trying to avert my gaze Grin but I will have to tackle it soon.

Fluffy glad to hear the DC have done so well Star Must be in their genes Wink Can you not have a walk before/after work, I really feel it clears away the cobwebs.

Have to head to B&M today as atm we have a house without Fry's Choc Cream (deplorable) Shock

tentatively shows face

I think I’ve found my people! I’ve stalked the Christmas forum for ages and have read a few of these threads but never actually joined in.

I’m a huge lover of all things Christmas, and I also work in retail so we’re already well underway in prepping for Christmas 2020. (I think that has something to do with why I always start to feel the festive excitement around June/July)!

I also bought my BH tree in the July sale last week, so the thread title was calling my name Grin

Looking forward to counting down to Christmas. Not to sound too negative but it’s not like there’s much else to look forward to this year!

KVlovesWinter · 13/07/2020 12:16

Good afternoon!

It's cloudy but bright here, the sun is trying to get out and it's pretty warm.

We've started having really long walks the past few weeks. It definitely does me the world of good, feel so energised when I get home.

Not got much olanned this afternoon, I've got a load of ironing to do for dd she's off to Gran Canaria on Thursday. It's her very first holiday just with her friends.

Welcome Waiting I've only been on the thread a few weeks, it's a lovely place to be.

Fluffy lovely news with the school reports, I love reading through my Dc old ones. Not sure if mine are getting reports this year, usually we would have them by now.

CrazyBaubles · 13/07/2020 12:40

So glad the dc got good reports Fluffy

puss my reports were always great but there were a few years in comp that they were intercepted in the post - purely to support my sis who's reports were always rubbish. We figured dm would ask if she got mine but not hers but wouldn't notice if she didn't get any and this worked for a while 😂

I'm definitely missing moving around the office, it always surprised me how many steps I did just wandering from one team or dept to another.

Welcome waiting

I'm getting the call about the job later today so I'm just wasting time until then.
The weather is a bit grey and rubbish here - it's actually so cool it's making me want to go for a walk in the fresh air.

MarshmallowManiac · 13/07/2020 15:05

Welcome Waiting

Good luck with the job call Crazy , sure it's a certainty. Grin

CrazyBaubles · 13/07/2020 15:34

Thank you Marshmallow

🥳🥳 I GOT THE JOB!! 🥳🥳
I can't believe it, I'm in shock. It's the same company but completely different department and quite a step up. I'm so happy but also nervous, I suffer awfully with imposter syndrome so I'll have to fight that off before I start in a few weeks!! Eek 😬

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/07/2020 15:37

Fabulous Crazy well done. They wouldn't have chosen you if they didn't think you are capable. 🍾🎉

WreckTangled · 13/07/2020 15:38

Amazing news crazy! Was worth the two hour interview Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 13/07/2020 15:55

So happy for you Crazy great news, it's natural to worry when you're starting a new job, you will be of course fabulous. They would so not have given you the job if they didn't think you were good enough, well done lovely Star Wine Flowers

NoWordForFluffy · 13/07/2020 15:59

Whoop! Congratulations, Crazy! 🎉

Mrsmadevans · 13/07/2020 16:05

Crazy am thrilled to bits for you sweetheart ㊗️🥂🍾💐🤗

Mrsmadevans · 13/07/2020 16:07

Fluffy wonderful news re the DC reports SmileFlowers

Mrsmadevans · 13/07/2020 16:31

Most excellent your x stitch has come yay! Grin
Boot l didn't shout l bloody well felt like it Hmm fair dos to your Dh walking all that way home ! Smile
Fluffy you can say that again , however Mum was very upset today because my nephew he who is the holy ghost and the son of God all wrapped up into one when she rang him , didn't want to bother and couldn't wait to get her off the phone. I smoothed it over and if l was the evil bitch my sister says l am. l would have denigrated him to her but l didn't because she was upset & l don't like her being upset even if she is a bloody liability! l realise l am my own worst enemy Hmm

MarshmallowManiac · 13/07/2020 16:51

Mrs, who listens to sisters POV what do they know, I bet you were the calm, caring daughter you always are. You must be because you take so much rubbish from her and don't explode in her face Flowers

Aaahh now I can relax, our house is full of Frys once more Grin

FireflyGirl · 13/07/2020 16:52

Oh, congratulations Crazy. How exciting! Hope you chilled a bottle of bubbly in anticipation! When do you start?

DS and I made it for our walk, it was nice to be out and moving but it's completely tired me out, despite moving at a snail's pace. My Fitbit has got very excited and classed it as 53 minutes exercise Hmm

We had to walk past the village school (DS goes to school in the next village along) and they were having their sports day. DS was fascinated, I feel a bit sad for him missing out. But he told me he'd win every race with his super legs, so maybe it's just as well to save that disappointment for next year Wink

I got a quote from British Gas for a new boiler - 1.5 times as much as the other quotes, for a lower kw boiler. Think we'll give them a miss! Their installation fee was nearly as much as the other quotes, and more than the cost of the actual boiler!!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/07/2020 17:33

Congratulations Crazy!!! Star

Well done to your DC fluffy :) DS also got a great report today.

I have already started my cross stitch. It is definitely the biggest and most complicated I have ever done. The pattern covers four separate pieces of paper!

NoWordForFluffy · 13/07/2020 17:36

I prefer lots of pages to the pattern being squeezed onto one page, Most!

The Scandi heart one I did last year was 6 pages and easy to follow. The baby one I've done recently was 1 and bloody tiny / hard to read. Especially as I need to take my glasses off to focus on the cross stitch itself.

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/07/2020 17:40

True fluffy the pattern is nice and big which is good given how complicated it is! This is my progress so far Grin
