I’m now at the stage where I only need to buy for DTs (just waiting on a good bargain on big fluffy beanbags) and a few stocking fillers for DH and then I’m done. (any advice on sizes of beanbags gratefully received - DTs are 10 and I am wary of kid size ones in case they are too small and don’t really last - the fluffy adult size ones are out of budget though - max £70 each.)

I do need to think of ideas for me and for DH to add to our Amazon wishlist for his mother. It has to go on the Amazon wishlist or she won’t buy it. It doesn’t actually have to come from Amazon - she often buys things elsewhere at a higher price Shock because she likes going into a physical store to buy things and then just deletes them from the list, but it has to be on the list for her to see it - she refuses to be given a physical list. (She also insists on a list because she can’t buy without one) Hmm

The trouble is the only things I can think of for me aren’t on Amazon! I would love some expensive candles but she won’t buy those as they are dear and small so she will look stingy (even though she really wouldn’t be). The only other things I can think of are Le Crueset Salt & Pepper mills, but the colour I want aren’t available on Amazon. Or a new petite market bag from Apolis but they also aren’t on Amazon.

I can’t add non-Amazon items to the list because apparently you need Amazon assistant to do that and it is only available on android devices of which we have none!

Help! What do I want?!

Dreamingofwalden · 23/11/2019 07:38

@Thehollyandtheirony that’s an excellent price! I have one of those dishes which I bought ten years ago and absolutely love it.

Lovemusic33 · 23/11/2019 07:41

I'm trying not to twitch, Harry potter Lego on offer on Amazon and we would love a set (or 2) but I jave already bought her a large Lego set which cost just under £100.

Must not twitch.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 23/11/2019 07:42

Is the hamper deal from a previous thread where there were doubts about orders?

GAP are doing 50% off in Black Friday deals, email subscribers can access already.

DreamingofSunshine · 23/11/2019 07:44

@SlayingDragons that's annoying, we used to have the same thing with DH's family. Based on what I want/have asked for:

Neals Yard hand-wash and handcream
Various yarn as I'm a knitter/crocheter
Academic planner to be used as a diary
New microwable heat pad
LSA gin glasses
LSA vase
Joseph Joseph storage containers

Might spark some inspiration. I normally only buy joseph joseph at tk maxx but DH's family live abroad so want to click and buy with it automatically being sent to us.

SweetPeaPods · 23/11/2019 07:47

@NeedMoreTea that was me thank you!

Yeknom · 23/11/2019 07:48

Morning everyone! Gosh I'd love if ale Creuset did more offers like that @Thehollyandtheirony! I hardly see any good deals on the volcanic range, we have those dishes (a la TK Maxx!) so I'm going to keep my eye out for any other Black Friday deals from the site.

Speaking of Joules, my lovely mum has seen a jumper from there that she likes. Having never shopped there. Does anyone know if they ever do discounts?

Thanks :)

IHeartKingThistle · 23/11/2019 07:58

@SlayingDragons we have the exact same thing with MIL! You can add 'ideas' to your Amazon wish list, which I've done, but you just have to type in which store it is, you can't link. HTH.?Smile

Bansku19 · 23/11/2019 08:07

@Lovemusic33 I twitched yesterday. John Lewis has a Lego bundle on sale which I bought. I am not sure if I save it to ds birthday though.

HalfWomanHalfHobnob · 23/11/2019 08:12

@SlayingDragons you can add non-Amazon items to a wishlist from a desktop (non-mobile) browser, so if you have access to a PC you can do it that way. I do this with the Amazon Assistant add-on for Chrome or Firefox. It is a pain though because like most people, I do most of my browsing on a phone!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 23/11/2019 08:20

those Christmas trees, I got one very similar from flying tiger last year in their everything Christmas £1 sale.

slayingdragons is there any films/books you want? not sure how much she spends but I love my kindle paperwhite for reading and was my favourite gift ever don't know what I'd do without it now! I'm not sure my wishlist would help, I'm a bit of a geek and not really grown up!! it consists of a new Pokemon gameboy game, character t-shirts, the new Harry potter illustrated edition, a groot plant pot and an echo dot to play music upstairs 😁

IHeartKingThistle · 23/11/2019 08:25

@JoHo123 thanks for the heads up on cheekywipes- DD needs more period pants. Don't think I'll get away with giving those as a stocking filler though Grin

recklessgran · 23/11/2019 08:26

@Yeknom yes, there are frequently discounts for Joules in fact I never buy from there without one and do buy their harbour tops and childrenswear quite frequently.I think they've got a sale on currently and they also do 20% student discount. I'd wait it out for a code if I was you or try their e-bay outlet.

nickdrakeslovechild · 23/11/2019 08:29

Yeknom it's worth looking at the Joules ebay shop, I have got things cheaper there than in store. It's also worth checking if you are near a store this week as in my local they had a lot of things reduced for black Friday.

nickdrakeslovechild · 23/11/2019 08:29

recklessgran types quicker than I!

Yeknom · 23/11/2019 08:33

Oh thanks @recklessgran and @nickdrakeslovechild - weirdly have bought kids socks from the eBay outlet in the past and didn't think of there. There isn't a store local to me so I'll keep my eye out for a code! Merci buckets!

ArabellaPilkington · 23/11/2019 08:35

I'm after a really nice globe as a family gift (DC are teens so not a kiddy one) and a night vision wildlife motion sensor camera for DH.

Thinking I might wait for Black Friday, but not sure which stores/online cos to target?

Dogmatix34 · 23/11/2019 08:43

The coffee cups mentioned up thread have arrived. They are lovely for £4 delivered but tiny! I hadn’t realised they were expresso cups! My mistake.

Dogmatix34 · 23/11/2019 08:44

For those wanting fingerless gloves from turtle dove, I signed up for the newsletter and they immediately sent me an offer for £10 off the lucky dip gloves.

Lemonysherbet · 23/11/2019 08:56

Hey, can anyone recommend a record player for DH? He currently owns zero records so it doesn't have to be high end. I tried looking last year but found the choice quite overwhelming!

If anyone has any recommendations I would really appreciate it

RevealTheHiddenBeach · 23/11/2019 08:59

DM has now asked for m&s clothes... does anyone lovely have a spare code they could pm me please?!

linentowel · 23/11/2019 09:00

Good prime deal on Harry Potter LEGO this morning.

Train is under £50.

PinkDaydreams · 23/11/2019 09:02

For anyone that missed it last time (or stupidly ordered then cancelled the order, me!) the LAVAZZA MILK FROTHER is back down to £19 on amazon Grin

imsorryiasked · 23/11/2019 09:13

@Lemonysherbet I got dss this one and he's really happy with it.
It's a JAM stream also available from currys etc and comes in black too.
I settled on it because it has bluetooth/wifi so you can play via other speakers etc.

username2020 · 23/11/2019 09:17

oooh a record player would be a good gift idea here too if anyone has any good but cheapo suggestions - it would be for DF

Any Boden codes please? I have a job interview and I need a new outfit! Please can you PM me and thanks in advance
