@Themazeoflife yes, I only need one for the next door neighbors. My sister hosts every Christmas Eve which goes back to a time when we used to have Mum to stay all over Christmas. I should really take a turn now but her house is so much more suited to it so I shall give her one. Dh can take bits from the other for clients he gives something too and we will eat the rest. Justified!!

VividImagination

I only need one for my inlaws, I guess my parents will now get one too and I could give one to DC school teacher, so I think I have justified mine too Grin

Guinness World Records 2020 down to £8.00 on Amazon - haven't seen it lower anywhere else

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 22/11/2019 23:47

@catanddogmake6 hmmm... something to think about for sure! What is the 'star app' you mentioned? Is it daft that I was hoping the telescope could be used from inside the house 🙈

riotlady · 22/11/2019 23:52

Does anyone have any strong feelings about the softest/cosiest bed socks? Are the Joules ones nice? All my lovely Granny has asked for are bed socks so want to get her the best ones!

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 22/11/2019 23:54

Oh that Amazon tree is so lovely! Gutted mine never got here. Bizarrely, the day after they refunded me, my fox scarf turned up in the post (it was one of two packages from China they cancelled and refunded - the other was the tree). I'm actually quite annoyed about it because now I have to go through the rigmarole of contacting Amazon customer service to pay for the damn thing again, and they always take ages to respond on the online chat thing.

Courtney555 · 22/11/2019 23:58

Would very much appreciate an M&S code if anyone has one...

starryeyedsnowgirl · 23/11/2019 00:22

They are selling the same trees you all got on amazon for either £10 or £12 at the Edinburgh Christmas market. and many many other overpriced items

Barbararara · 23/11/2019 00:29

RoI one:

If you’re registered with AIB rewards there’s €10 off €100 at Smyths when you pay online or instore with a registered card until 6/12

whatwillicallmyself · 23/11/2019 01:25

@barbararara thanks for that I had never heard of the AIB rewards.

Purpleheadgirl · 23/11/2019 01:37

@1122christy could it be a g and they have left it in your green / recycling bin.....or even over a garden gate?

Trumpton · 23/11/2019 05:13

@Courtney555 have sent a pm with code to you .

spiralflower · 23/11/2019 05:29

Halloween Shock I’ve had that tree for around 15 years - I got mine in The Pier (remember them?!). I now have children who enjoy putting it up every Christmas - it’s lasted well!

lotsofthingstolearn · 23/11/2019 06:01

Once more appealing for mumsnet wisdom please

I’ve wrestled with the idea for a nice card for nursery staff who look after DS but I just can’t help but think considering the amount they do for the pittance they get paid that I’m being stingy.

With DS1 5 years ago a cinema company (can’t remember which) did a lovely gift card in a box with a malteasers snowman for about £10. I’ve looked on line and can’t see has anyone seen anything about??

I could do my own but just wondering before I start cobbling them together

I also frustratingly have missed out on the M&S discount this time round someone last week kindly sent me a code but I didn’t have time to sort out my blooming order ... I’ve now got a basket ready to go- if anyone has any spare codes I’ll be forever grateful.

suneetime · 23/11/2019 06:27

@lotsofthingstolearn I’ve just sent you a code.

Anyone else struggling with the dreaded twitch?
I’ve actually had to take my bank cards out of my phone case and put them in a wallet in my handbag in another room to combat the late night twitch! Blush
I desperately want don’t need a tree, a moustache comb or a hamper of yummy shortbread and I quite definitely do need to hold onto my money for what’s left on my list. But reading this thread is the equivalent of sticking my fingers in an electrical socket. Confused

Thehollyandtheirony · 23/11/2019 06:44

Black Friday deals have started at Le Creuset. I highly recommend these stoneware dishes and they are a bargain if you like orange, red or grey.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/11/2019 06:49

I've resisted The Twitch so far. I can't guarantee it'll last though, @Barbararara! [Fgrin]

NoWordForFluffy · 23/11/2019 06:49

Or even Xmas Grin

recklessgran · 23/11/2019 07:09

Re; The Twitch - I just don't say I'm done until Christmas Eve. Sorted!
[ DH wouldn't agree, he thinks I was done ages ago.]
I'm married to the benevolent grinch.

ritzbiscuits · 23/11/2019 07:14

@riotlady The Joules socks are really good quality, mine are a couple of years old and still really nice.

Have a look in their official eBay shop as you can often get them a bit cheaper (last seasons designs), though they do tend to put the prices up at this time of year.

Barbararara · 23/11/2019 07:20

If anyone is looking for our generation dolls and accessories Our generation world have different Black Friday offers each day. Worth keeping an eye on.

spub · 23/11/2019 07:28

@riotlady The White Company cashmere bed socks are really soft and cosy. There are usually codes to be found to make their purchase a bit less sore!

1122christy · 23/11/2019 07:29

@Purpleheadgirl I had a quick look in my garden but will check the bins, I hope not though cause they are full Confused

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 23/11/2019 07:30

I don't think of it as twitching, but as being REALLY prepared for birthdays (or next Christmas!) 😂
