What are your must have items on your Christmas morning breakfast?

Just something light to not ruin appetites! Bagel and smoked salmon.

muddledmidget · 17/11/2019 10:55

Pigs in blanket rolls with ketchup to eat in the car while driving 200 miles at 5am...

Nixen · 17/11/2019 10:55

Fresh orange, champagne, croissants, crispy smoked bacon, cream cheese

lovelyupnorth · 17/11/2019 10:56

Bacon roll.

thetardis · 17/11/2019 10:56

coffee and pink fizz

thenightsky · 17/11/2019 10:57

Something that won't fill you up too much.

I remember last year me and DD sat eating sausage sandwiches and DS came in and said 'what madness is this'???

Lexplorer · 17/11/2019 10:58

I think we all just have cereals or left-over food from the detritus of Christmas Eve still lurking in the living room. No way could we think of a proper breakfast!

OhTheRoses · 17/11/2019 10:58

Sherry. Tea and a biscuit before mass. Smoked salmon and champagne after mass which serves as brunch/starter

OhTheRoses · 17/11/2019 11:00

Oh and I used to let the dc start on their selection boxes before church.

SunshineAngel · 17/11/2019 11:02

I just have a tiny bowl of cereal and a brew, as I want to save myself, and need to get ready to get to my dad's for dinner.

OldEvilOwl · 17/11/2019 11:04

The last few years we have had a cooked breakfast at around 10/11am, and then not had Xmas lunch until around 5ish. It's worked much better as no-one wants to eat too early, and we're not really ready for lunch by lunchtime

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 17/11/2019 11:06

Chocolate. Start as you mean to go on Grin

Stravapalava · 17/11/2019 11:08

I do a plate of toast and crumpets and we all help ourselves between santa presents and family presents! Sometimes croissants and pain au chocolat if I feel fancy. Nothing big so we don't spoil our dinner.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 17/11/2019 11:11

Dh & the dc like sausage sandwiches, I like either a croissant or a pain au chocolate (I make big batches & freeze in to portions of 1 or 2 ready for baking). We have breakfast about 8:30/9 & then our roast at about 1:30 so plenty of time for them to get hungry again.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 17/11/2019 11:12

Bacon sandwiches or croissants, coffee, juice. We eat lunch about 2 so not a massive breakfast.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/11/2019 11:13

Chocolate coins

Firefliess · 17/11/2019 11:14

Chocolate and a satsuma from the stocking. That's all I have apart from a cup of tea. The kids may eat cereal or toast, but we don't want to spoil appetites

intothedark · 17/11/2019 11:15

Bacon muffins with brown sauce. These have become a Christmas tradition in our house.

Thegoodandbadlife · 17/11/2019 11:17

Croissants with melted cheese and bacon inside and washed down with Buck’s Fizz.

YourOpinionIsNoted · 17/11/2019 11:21

Bucks fizz.

Toast an English muffin. Spread on some salmon terrine. Pile scrambled eggs* on top. Add smoked salmon. Lots of black pepper. Devour!!

  • Extra decadent Xmas scramblies. Add one extra yolk for every two eggs and a splash of double cream. Only to be consumed at Christmas!
Natsku · 17/11/2019 11:24

Rice porridge

runwithme · 17/11/2019 11:24

Definitely a light breakfast, so bacon roll, juices and prosecco. We aim for Christmas dinner around midday, and cheese and biscuits around 6 so a light breakfast is fine

insancerre · 17/11/2019 11:24

Coffee
Bacon roll
Buck’s Fizz

Heymummee · 17/11/2019 11:27

Bacon sandwiches, Buck’s Fizz, fresh coffee, orange juice for the kids. Lots of chocolate. We don’t eat Christmas dinner until 3 or 4 so we tend to eat quite a lot late morning.

cookiemonster5 · 17/11/2019 11:27

If I manage to find the pork breakfast patties in Aldi again we will be having them with eggs and muffins a la McDonald's but 100 times better. If not them then Tesco are meant to have similar ones but our nearest is in another town.
