Everyone always talking about food they love at Christmas.. so I thought I’d be a bah humbug (even though I love christmas) and ask what you hate...
For me it has to be mince pies.....🤢
Christmas pudding and Christmas cake...
Any type of pate...

So let’s go...

Bread sauce

moredoll · 20/12/2018 22:06

Bread sauce
Trifle

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 20/12/2018 22:18

Mulled Wine
Christmas Cake
Sprouts
Mince Pies
Christmas Pudding
Anything with Cinnamon or All Spice
Anything glazed with butter or honey, or both
Cheap Chocolates
Trifle, just no
Piddly party food bits and bobs.

Bring on the wine, nuts, the roasties, the turkey, cranberry sauce and gravy though. Love it all.

sophisticatedsarcasm · 20/12/2018 23:04

Don’t really get panettone either. Find it bland and dry 🤢

We usually put our sprouts with bacon so I’ll boil them then quickly pop in the pan with bacon which gives them a bit of a taste as well as dosing them in gravy I can manage....

Have always said mince pies but haven’t had one since being a child so I will try one, with brandy butter or warm with custard or something this year.

Kintan · 20/12/2018 23:21

Turkey, Christmas cake, bread sauce.

moredoll · 20/12/2018 23:25

Mince pies at designed to be served warm. They're lovely with brandy butter which melts into them.

moredoll · 20/12/2018 23:26

are

AlphaJuno · 20/12/2018 23:31

Mulled wine. And I usually love most drinks.

AlphaJuno · 20/12/2018 23:32

Can't stand bread sauce either.

Bouledeneige · 20/12/2018 23:33

Same as you OP - mince pies, christmas pud and fruit cake. Dont like stilton either. My XH used to put stilton in hot mince pies... oh gag.

Bouledeneige · 20/12/2018 23:34

Oh I hate trifle too. One way to ruin a perfectly good cake and slop it all in a bowl. Yuck

NotCitrus · 21/12/2018 00:43

Modern Roses and Quality Street!
Sprouts
Bread sauce - looks like vomit
Gravy from Bisto or similar
The icing on Christmas cake
Shit buffet food of deep fried beige.

Also don't like champagne or prosecco so I'm very popular on NYE.

Bumbumtaloo · 21/12/2018 02:34

My list is quite long apparently Xmas Blush
• Christmas cake/pudding
• Bread sauce
• Cranberry sauce
• Parsnips
• Sprouts
• Left overs - I hate any meat that’s cooked left to go cold and then eaten. Although I do like shop bought ham etc. I know, I know.
• (Eat me) Dates
• Marzipan
• Glazed carrots

I think that’s it Xmas Blush

Bumbumtaloo · 21/12/2018 02:36

Oh just thought of more...
• Brandy butter/cream
• Mulled wine

cricketmum84 · 21/12/2018 06:33

@sophisticatedsarcasm my DH makes the most amazing bread and butter pudding with panettone, marmalade and dark chocolate 😍

Taffeta · 21/12/2018 06:45

Panettone is best toasted with butter

Top tip! Lay it on its side to cut it so slices fit in toaster

Notso · 21/12/2018 09:58

Cold, dry turkey makes me feel sick. With lukewarm gravy and overcooked, rapidly cooling vegetables

Surely that's just bad planning and cooking rather than the foods fault!

JaneJeffer · 21/12/2018 10:05

Most of it except sprouts, stuffing, marzipan and any booze which isn't mulled wine.

RoyalChocolat · 21/12/2018 10:26

I live in France.
I don't like smoked salmon, foie gras, oysters (or any seafood), mushrooms and I don't drink.
I don't socialize around Christmas / New Year - it is easier than explaining why I cannot eat anything that the hosts have prepared.

cheesenpickles · 21/12/2018 10:54

Can't stand trifle or those little sausage rolls.

Braised cabbage always has apple in which I cannot stand.

Nuts, walnuts taste like dry cardboard and sadness to me.

I've never had bread sauce but it looks foul.

cheesenpickles · 21/12/2018 10:55

Oh and any kind of blue cheese. I have to create my own cheese board because I won't even let it go in my fridge. EnvyConfused

cliffdiver · 21/12/2018 10:56

Turkey
Christmas cake
I'm indifferent to mince pies

RaininSummer · 21/12/2018 10:58

Mince pies, Christmas pudding and all the roast beasts.
