As in the title really. My last day in the office is Thursday and not back till 2nd Jan. Thinking about also taking Thursday off though as I'm not quitw feeling in the Christmas spirit yet!

Hmm stealth boast

IceRebel · 18/12/2018 08:19

I break up this Thursday the 20th, and go back on the 7th January.

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 18/12/2018 08:20

My last day is on Friday 21st and back in the office on Monday 7th Jan. Can't wait!

MakeAHouseAHome · 18/12/2018 08:20

How the flip it is a stealth boast!? I asked because I am debating whether to take Thursday off too and make the break longer.

Ooooh lucky you!

OliviaStabler · 18/12/2018 08:21

I'm off Christmas week, working from home New Year's Eve and the 2nd.

Theonewiththecat · 18/12/2018 08:21

I finish on Friday and I go back on the 27th.
I should be in boxing day, but I booked it off. :)

BikeRunSki · 18/12/2018 08:22

Off 22-27 Dec and 4 Jan apart from Bank Holidays.

NachoCheese22 · 18/12/2018 08:22

Break up tomorrow, back on the 7th January. DHs time off almost matches mine too which never happens!

Theonewiththecat · 18/12/2018 08:23

DH on the other hand finishes on Friday and he isn't going back until the 7th or 8th.
He should be back in on the 2nd, but because I'm at work he's staying home to look after dd.

PoutySprout · 18/12/2018 08:23

I’m off 25th and 26th Dec and 1st January.

NotUsedBySomeoneElse · 18/12/2018 08:24

Off Christmas Day, back in Boxing Day, then off till 2nd. This is out of my annual leave allowance though, not breaking up from work for Christmas.

Veronicat · 18/12/2018 08:26

Out of the building from 2pm on the 24th and back in on 27th. I'm on call 25th and 26th though.

MadeForThis · 18/12/2018 08:28

Normally only off Christmas Day. But on maternity leave. Yay!!

louiseaaa · 18/12/2018 08:29

off on the 25/26th

Working Mon-Sat otherwise

Have two weeks booked off in Jan for house move from the 7th, though

Mainchanger · 18/12/2018 08:31

2 weeks. Break up Friday, go back 7th. I do feel for those who don't get much time off, I've been there in previous jobs.

Babydontcry · 18/12/2018 10:56

Finish on Thursday go back the second of July

Buggeroffbingbunny · 18/12/2018 10:58

2 weeks and a break. Break up Thursday and back on 7th. I do have around 300 exam papers to mark during the break though.

whispertomegently · 18/12/2018 11:09

This makes me think, my husband makes great noises about going back after Christmas. But, over the last five years it's been later and later.

I pointed out to him that I understand he does a few bits from home but last year he didn't go in until February 5th!
Seeing as he stops work a week before Christmas that's 7 weeks so it's not bad going.

To be fair he has a job that requires him when he's needed. And that can mean 24/7 at stressful times of the year. It sort of balances out. He definitely needs the down time to recover.

BarbedBloom · 18/12/2018 11:20

Finish on 21st at 2pm and back on 7th Jan. We close down between Christmas and New Year so only need to use two days annual leave. Have worked lots of years so will be a nice treat this year

I8toys · 18/12/2018 11:37

Finish Friday and back 2nd Jan - will probably work from home though as off to Athens on Boxing day and back on 31st Dec!

BigGirlPants18 · 18/12/2018 12:08

I finish half day on Friday 21st, and off until the 2nd January.

I am cover for New Year's Eve, but only until 5pm at the latest.

reluctantbrit · 18/12/2018 12:13

Last day is 1/2 day on the 24th. Then off until NYE it only as I never work Thursday and Friday, then working 1/2 NYE and back to normal on the 2nd.

Year end is one of the busiest in my office, Financial institution, so unless it is an emergency or a big family thing none of us gets more than a day or two. Only one is off this year as her son gets married abroad and it was all agreed months in advance.

Villanellesproudmum · 18/12/2018 12:18

11 days, after many years working over Christmas and New Year I certainly appreciate it. Thank you to all the emergency, medical and volunteers looking after others and animals over Christmas x

Knittink · 18/12/2018 12:20

Finish on the 21st and go back on the 7th, as does dh (teachers).
