How long have you got off over Christmas?

As in the title really. My last day in the office is Thursday and not back till 2nd Jan. Thinking about also taking Thursday off though as I'm not quitw feeling in the Christmas spirit yet!

This makes me think, my husband makes great noises about going back after Christmas. But, over the last five years it's been later and later. I pointed out to him that I understand he does a few bits from home but last year he didn't go in until February 5th!

If you want a stealth boast about time off at Christmas, jollygiraffe' how about 'the rest of our lives'. We are both retired now and are having a lovely time. I just wonder how I used to do all the wrapping, cooking, decorating etc etc when I was working. Good luck to all of you valiantly struggling, I too was there.

It's exactly one day, and that day is Boxing Day as it's DD's birthday. The rest of it I'm either on call or at work. Bah.

I break up tomorrow and back two weeks later :)

We all finish Thursday and not back til 7th January so that's 17 days!! It's been a long half term, I can't wait!!!!

I work in education so finish on fri 21st and go back on mon 7th Jan. DH is off this week and next then back on 2nd Jan. He’s in full on holiday mode having not had much holiday this year but me and DS are still at work/ school...

Two days off- Christmas and Boxing Day. Kind of puts a dampener on Christmas but having said that I'm not sure I would like to use a chunk of annual leave at this time of year!

I’m off Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Was hoping to go to New York for Christmas and new year with my family to see extended family however, boss said i would need to take 2 days off for every day I needed off (except the bank holidays) as he doesn’t allow anyone to normally take holidays between Christmas and new year (nothing in contract about this) so I’m home alone while all my family are in New York!!!!!

21st is my last day, then back in on 2nd.

I'm off 25th and 26th.

I'm off on the 24th, 25th and 26th. DH starts work at 6am on Christmas day and is working every day (shifts) until 7am on January 1st

I'm at work Christmas Day, but have Boxing Day off. All other days at work as normal.

I finished at 2pm today and back in on the 2nd. Yay 😀

3 1/2 weeks off. Not even a stealthy one.

I consider myself pretty lucky to be off 22/23 half day christmas eve then back in 27th. I worked many years in tourism and most years i would work from 20th to 4th without a day off, no extra pay, no choice.

12 days can't wait.

Finish this Friday, probably around 3pm. I'll be working from home on both Thursday and Friday.

I'll be back on the 2nd, but again, will probably wfh for that week.

Aw shit. So disappointed. I thought the thread was ‘how do you get off over Christmas’.

21st to 7th

After years of working over Xmas in retail, I do really appreciate the break I have in my current job. My last working day is tomorrow, I'm due back on the 2nd but it could be pushed back until 7th, not sure yet until the boss decides at the last minute.

Tomorrow is my last day and I'm back the 8th. I have taken Thursday this week as a holiday. Office is closed till the 7th and I don't work a Monday. Can't wait. Not had a holiday since July and I'm ready for it!

Can't imagine 2nd Jan not being a public holiday, the Hogmanay parties are still going strong well into the 3rd/4th in my parts!

I finish on Friday then back in on Thursday the 27th for two days. Off the weekend, half day on Hogmanay then off 1st and 2nd. Back to normal on the 3rd!
