As in the title really. My last day in the office is Thursday and not back till 2nd Jan. Thinking about also taking Thursday off though as I'm not quitw feeling in the Christmas spirit yet!

OP posts:

How much leave do all of you who are taking 2 weeks for Christmas get per year?!

Smidge001 · 18/12/2018 22:45

I'm taking the 27th off. Other than that it's just the bank holidays.

Summerisdone · 18/12/2018 22:46

I begged for Christmas Day off, and I got it off on the promise that I work everyday from tomorrow until 5th Jan (so Xmas is my only day off after today)... oh the joys of being a chef 🤦🏻‍♀️

E20mom · 18/12/2018 22:49

Two weeks this year..woo hoo!

sophisticatedsarcasm · 18/12/2018 22:52

2 days off over Christmas ( Christmas Day and Boxing Day) and 2 over new y3ar

Kikithewitch · 18/12/2018 22:56

I’m off 25, 26 & 27th December and New Year’s Day, other than that it’s work as normal. I’m working Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve though which will be busy.
I’m a HCP but I don’t have to work bank holidays.

SkippedALightFandango · 18/12/2018 22:56

Midwife here. Working Christmas day, off Boxing Day and back in on the 27th, 28th and 29th. I am off for 4 day’s over New Years.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 18/12/2018 22:59

I finish tomorrow, then not back until 7 Jan. Really looking forward to the break.

Some of it is time off in lieu (work for a charity, we get TOIL instead of paid overtime), some is annual leave

ShesABelter · 18/12/2018 23:02

@Aaahfuck just over five weeks but our office closes for two weeks so don't have a choice but to take two then which is quite crap. I defo loved it in retail when everyone was going back and I then took a holiday in January. Also the working year seems much longer only having just over three weeks holiday from January to December.

Toomanybaubles · 19/12/2018 06:20

I get 22 days plus three compulsory between Xmas and New year.

Public sector, TOIL here too and we have staffing issues so I end up working a lot of additional hours without pay so I have to take time off in lieu when I can = lots of annual leave not used so I carry it forward into the new leave year.

Santasshoe · 19/12/2018 06:23

Break up today back on the 3rd.

cliffdiver · 19/12/2018 06:26

Break up today and back on the 3rd (teacher), so 2 weeks off.

Darkestnight · 19/12/2018 09:07

Just Xmas day

zebrarobot · 19/12/2018 09:15

Between now and 2nd jan im only working tonight (3hrs) and the 23rd and 30th.

ifoundthebread · 19/12/2018 09:39

@aaaahfuck my partner gets 2 weeks off over Christmas and 2 weeks in the summer (known as shipyard fortnight) all Bank Holidays and then 6/7 floating days to take when he wants. About the only advantage of working in a factory

Mummyme87 · 19/12/2018 10:21

On mat leave until 29th January.
However nhs shift worker so normally no time off except random days.
OH is off 25th until 31st

Perfectly1mperfect · 19/12/2018 10:36

How much leave do all of you who are taking 2 weeks for Christmas get per year?!

For those that don't work weekends and get Xmas day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day off, I think they only have to book 4 days off to be off for 11 days from Friday 21st to 2nd Jan. My OH does this so that he gets a decent break without using a lot of leave.

BearSoFair · 19/12/2018 15:51

I'm off on Christmas day, Boxing day, the 30th, and New Year's day. Was supposed to have the 22nd, 23rd and 29th off as well but being pulled in...the joys of retail! I am going to ask if I can have New Year's Eve off in exchange for doing the weekend shifts...fingers crossed!

anyoldname76 · 19/12/2018 17:45

i finish on friday, back in for 2 half days next thur and Friday, then all new year week off

elibee · 19/12/2018 17:55

14th-7th.

Would have been the 21st - 3rd but I had too much leave left to carry it all over so I just took this week off and my manager has put the whole team down as working from home on the 3rd and 4th.

Ragwort · 19/12/2018 18:01

Christmas Day & Boxing Day, I work in retail and am quite happy not to take leave at this time of year. Hate having to take ‘forced annual leave’ & not take holiday when I want it. My DH will be off from 21st Dec to 2nd Jan & would much rather be working than using annual leave.

ChristmasAccountant · 19/12/2018 18:02

Finish tomorrow and off until January 2020 on maternity leave!!

AllYeFaithful · 19/12/2018 18:07

Finish Dec 21st, back to work 7th Jan.

In previous roles I’ve worked all through Christmas in various horrific shifts...so the break in this job is massively appreciated.

PinkFizzz · 19/12/2018 18:09

25th. Because people obviously can't manage more than one day without a supermarket 🙄

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 19/12/2018 18:14

Finish Friday, back on the 7th. But that's just how I've chosen to use my annual leave - plenty of people in my office taking less.
