firefly I'm with your dh I'm afraid although I do like to watch that show some of it is a bit bonkers, especially her ideas of a bargain !

I love curry's, more mild to medium now, I used to really love spicy food but my first pregnancy gave me such horrendous heart burn, I had terrible acid reflux and proved the old wives tale wrong - DS was born totally bald and going by the theory he should have been part chimp.

wheels I forgot to ask, will you be putting a border around the writing? the towel looks lovely now I'm guessing it's finished?

Lilah is at the vet now. I'm waiting for hubby to report back on her health and tell me how she is.

We've got a crazy week next week. Kids go to the dentist on Monday and then I see my therapist Monday night. Then Tuesday I see the GI/Motility Specialist and see if it's time for me to end up on a tube to help me get some weight. Then on Wednesday I see the hematologist because yay I'm iron deficient again. So much crazy going on. I hope the kid's teeth appointments go well.

My youngest is so sick today and so is my dad. :( My dad drives a bus since he retired from mechanic work. So now he's exposed to a lot of stuff. He says Tuesday a kid puked on the bus. My kids ate dinner with my dad on Wednesday and today my dad and my kid woke up sick with a stomach flu. So yeah..... :( What a mess.

Lilah is back from the vet! She's 3 lbs 12 oz and even though she's sneezey and her eye keeps watering? She's finally healthy. Still a little underweight but the snot and stuff is because of scarring from when we got her and she was sick. They said we can wait until February to get her fixed to get a bit more weight on her bones and we'll get all her shots then too

Seafood, a present audit is digging everything out that I've bought and deciding who gets what and what gets held back / put into the present box (for birthday parties).

We've sorted the presents now and wrapped the Santa ones. I lost the will to live, so will wrap more another night! We've put everything in boxes and put them back on top of the wardrobe under the Gro Blind which is perfect for hiding things under!

And yes, it's a Spicery recipe. We love the recipes and have the original book and the new one too. And a cupboard full of the spice mixes!

I like spicier stuff when I cook it myself. Spicery recipes ruin take away as I can cook nicer curries myself.

Hello on thread 10. I've skim read through but it moves too fast to keep up.

I'm in such a happy mood right now. On Thursday DH told me I was getting my Christmas present this weekend and to pack a back as we are going away for 2 nights.
I picked him up and he then drove us straight to the airport and on a flight. We're in Switzerland until Sunday and he's found 2 (small, beautiful) Christmas markets for us to go to.
I think he's ill, he pulls this face and 🙄 a lot when I talk about Christmas and sound excited lol.

We walked passed the market on the way to where were staying then went and had a little wander around in the dark after dumping our stuff. It's beautiful. I've attached a pic or 2

I hope everyone is ok, especially Wheels with yours and your family illnesses.

I'll try and stay on top of the thread and post properly when I'm home and unpacked on Sunday / Monday

DH and I went to Switzerland last year for our wedding anniversary and it was amazing. It started with a stunning train ride through the Alps from Milan to Chur. Expensive to eat and drink though 😱

I'm going to a concert with DH tomorrow and we have dinner and a hotel room booked. This is my Christmas night out so I need to dig out my party frock and my lippy.

Didn’t want to get out of bed this morning 😂 on the plus side, we managed 1 and a half episodes of the marvellous Mrs. Maisel before falling asleep 😂

Today’s plan is quite a chilled day, we want to try and get Addie’s cot up if possible. I want to do lots of wrapping, write lists of what I still need to get and order what I can online. It’s saturday which is the day i’d Usually go to my dads and we would stream the UK football and see how our bets do. So, paddy and I are going to carry on that tradition
Tomorrow we will hit the shops and try and get some more stuff off the lists, we’re thinking Sunday will be a wee bit quieter!
I don’t normally cut it this fine, but my dad passing away and being pregnant mean I’ve not had a chance to do as much as normal! It will all be grand in the end though

Mrs - glad I’m not the only one who hates wrapping presents! Morning, I’m up and have had coffee and some sausages, but no energy to love yet. That wind was noisy last night! Dd gone to hockey match, dh is chauffeur. I have laundry in drier and dishwasher running (I plan to run the “clean the dishwasher” cycle later once the dishes are put away).

I need a shower, get to post office to post parcel (last date for the distance was yesterday), and get down to Cubs (I have no idea what to do with them this morning - it may just be games). Party tonight in neighbors so KK presents are needed, DH is taking DD to town though so they’ll sort at least hers for tonight and school and any other shopping she wants to do.

No decorating done here yet - and probably not until at least next weekend.

We have loads of original features in the house, with ceiling roses and cornice etc. The front room has a picture rail too. It's nice, but doesn't hold heat amazingly well (though the new boiler and rad have helped massively with that, thankfully!).

Apparently we were wrong in thinking that stair gates are easy to fit 😂

Paddy has had notice from his landlord as his landlord wants to sell, so after much discussion Paddy will be moving in with me, yay! It’s a no brainier really, I have more than enough space, I hate living alone, we spend every day together as it is and he doesn’t mind the potential broken sleep when Addie is here (he will probably sleep through it) winner winner chicken dinner! 😁

We've never had stair gates, Acey. They're actually quite dangerous if kids try to climb over them or fall down into one at the bottom. And it's harder to escape if there's a fire. Unless you're trying to prevent pets from going up, I wouldn't bother on the stairs. We did have them on the kids' doors until we could trust them not to get up and fall down them in the middle of the night (especially DS, as his door opens onto the top of the stairs). We also had one across the kitchen door to prevent access during cooking. And you've potentially almost 2 years off having a walker!

Fluffy - that’s actually some really good advice there, thank you! The main one for me is at the top of the stairs because there is only a very tiny, narrow part of hallway up there, and I’m terrified that I’ll drop Addie down the stairs if I slip or over estimate a step! Especially being sleep deprived as it leads to my bedroom. It’s the only design flaw with my house. Bedrooms are a good idea, as is the kitchen, but as you say I’m potentially 2 years off her even walking anyway :)
The cats will be able to jump over the stair gates so no point preventing them going up!
