Evening all! I'm not sure if this will be the last or the penultimate thread, but here goes!

Nero, O2 appears to be working now (conveniently now I'm home and don't need mobile data!).

Wheelie , you are right , he didn't have the energy to lift his head up or talk he was so bad. We shall see am taking it each day as it comes. I have picked up some books from the library , l hope l can get a chance to read them , hope the gifts come and are what they want

We've just wrapped all of the kids' presents from us. 12 each and we did it in an hour! I used to work in a shop which offered gift wrapping, so got good and fast at it!

Mrs, it's difficult with your dad. It's probably hard for him knowing that he's on limited time too. He might be scared. Poor thing.

I love your curtains. I prefer eyelet curtains as I prefer poles to tracks. Hooks through rings are never as neat.

I've been to town and back today via the village as I needed to pick up my prescriptions as well as get our Christmas meat from the butcher. I've planned my cooking timings too, so I'm all organised!

Apart from my Booths' bits on Sunday, we are ready. And if push came to shove, we'd manage without that stuff as it's mainly cheese and we've got loads already!

I had my haircut this week, bought 99% of my Christmas food (just need the veg and fresh things )
We are all now officially On Holiday (till Thursday when DH and I are back to work)

Mrs the delights of DParents I just spoke to my DMum, she has somewhere in the region of 3 sewing machines and 2 knitting machines ( in about 500 pieces) , none of which she uses but is convinced she will.
One sewing machine is on a wooden unit , the other inside but she thinks she can lift it out . I have said I will help her sort out which one she'll keep and we'll recycle the others.
She cannot use a knife and fork , how she thinks she's going to lift a heavy sewing machine and thread it all up ???

London with DH tomorrow , mooch around and look at the shops .

Mrs It definitely sounds like at least physically he sounds a bit better. I'm sorry he's so depressed. He probably is kind of scared too. :( Poor dad

I hope you can get a read on your books soon. Maybe Christmas Eve is a good time to make a reading tradition lol

fluffy Sounds like you guys are mostly ready! That's great news!! WE got our last presents for the kids tonight. We'll go pick up some little things for the nieces and nephew tomorrow and get them wrapped. Also need some small gift bags

70 Yay for haircuts and buying all the food! Also super super big yes for breaks!

No more school here until the 1st so the kids are happy. We've decided on a last minute decision that tomorrow we are yanking up all the tile that someone put down on our countertops. We hate it and they literally just tiled over the counter so we should be able to get all the yucky grout off haha Wish us luck on that

My kids are being pretty good tonight which I'm glad about

Morning! DD woke up but went back to sleep a few minutes ago. I'm now awake. Sigh!

We've nothing much planned today, other than some baking. No doubt there'll be arguing from the kids too!

3 days eeeee I could burst with excitement

Hella busy today and tomorrow too, and need to somehow fit the last of the mountain of wrapping still to do in.
We are going out in a minute to pick up my birthday cake (boxed so I won’t see it) before all the crazy traffic and crowds of people descend on the shops!
Need to pick up paddy’s air pod things, have ordered and paid for them, just need to pick them up. Paddy said he needs to pick something up from the jewellers, for me I hope
Didn’t get to mum & dads headstone yesterday, so will do that today, drop the wreath off and wish them a merry Xmas wherever they may be.
Will take a stroll to the local shop and get my grandads newspaper plus got a few errands he needs us to do too.
Will drop boxes of chocs off with our veg man, meat man & milkman.
Need to get the wee table presents for our extra guests Xmas day and also pick up a new dinner set as we don’t have 22 matching plates 😂
Need to be back by 3pm when the football starts, can’t miss our Saturday tradition!
Also need to amend our shop that’s coming tomorrow morning, dread to think how many substitutions we will have 😂
Plus a million and one other things including assembling a gingerbread house and deep cleaning the oven 😂

Got loads to do for them today even more than normal. I don't mind what l do but whatever l do isn't going to make a blind bit of difference to Dad. At least l know there is nothing else I can do to help him medically,
it is now all mental health support. Bless him it is an awful time for him , he can't see any way out except death l think. I don't think he believes us that this is now all his depression. Yes he has Cmml and kidney failure and gout and depression but this is all depression linked. I am going to carry on and ride it out like his cons said to do ❤️
Have not got time to catch up now have read the posts and replied and lost it 🙄but will come home from the parents collapse on the sofa and enjoy replying to your news . 😄 Have a great day everyone ☃️❄️🤶🎅not long now 😄

I'm currently on a train on the way back from Liverpool after a mercy dash for a Snowman Build a Bear for DD who announced she would love one for Christmas, even though she hasn't asked Santa for one! Cue me throwing clothes on and jumping in the car to the station to get on a train (the 8.02). I was first into BaB and then got the next train back (the 9.23). Not long til I'm home for my bacon sandwich!

It's just under 40 minutes on the train, so it's definitely been a dash!

I bought a Snowman for DS and got DD a mammoth ages ago. Should've gone with my first instinct and just bought two at the time, as I now have a mammoth going spare! 😂😂

I still need to go and get more wrapping paper but I'll can't face going into town. I know I won't get parked anywhere near and to then try and push through the crowds with the double pram. I have my Tesco order coming tomorrow morning, but apparently they don't have any Christmas wrapping paper left.
I'm waiting on a few things being delivered hopefully today too. My postman didn't get round till 7.30 last night, so God knows if he'll get round at all today.

DS2 and I went to the Sainsbury's café for breakfast, he had a bitesize breakfast, I had a bigger halloumi breakfast, bought the DC's Nectar presents, a bus that makes noises for DS2 and a Pokemon booster pack for DD, they had Pukka pies for lunch. 😋🍳🍳🚌 DS2's watching Christmas is Here Again, DD's drawing cats. 🎄🎅🐱🐈

The caretaker said thanks for the beer, he didn't mention the big red Christmas bow! Yes, the hot chocolate's come out of the jumper, biological capsules are fantastic!

Afternoon all! Had such a rubbish day, the bloody boiler has broke!. We’re all wrapped up in about 20 jumpers and coats.

DD will go to bed at 8. 😴

I am absolutely banjaxed. In so much pain with my back and hip, my feet are swollen as hell but I don’t care; we have done everything we need to do that involves leaving the house before Xmas. We have been out the house over 10 hours (god forsaken traffic) getting it all done but I’m so happy we managed it all.
The only things that need doing tomorrow now are wrapping the last of the presents, deep cleaning the oven and assembling the gingerbread house. It feels so good knowing we don’t need to leave the house at all for a few days!

We will do our traditional baking something on my birthday, this year it’s llama biscuits that my nephew will no doubt want to leave out for Santa! 😁🎅🏼
My delivery that was due Xmas eve arrived today, so I can stick with my no wrapping on my birthday rule woohoo! 🥳

In weird news; someone rang the doorbell a min ago, we went out there and there was no one there... but there was a turkey left on the doorstep with a note saying ‘happy Xmas my surname family’
I’m very confused and have no idea who it could be 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s a big turkey too, it says serves 9-12 minimum 😳
I don’t like any meat at the moment, my grandad and paddy will eat it, and hopefully some of the extra guests coming to dinner on Xmas day will eat it too! Maverick of course will get some 😄

My hospital bag arrived too, I love that it has wheels; so much easier 😆

Hi I have again been MIA. Irish MNers I'm on your soil! DH has surprised me with a last minute trip away so we left early this morning and go home tomorrow night. Thoroughly enjoying it I have to say. We have yet to meet anyone who isn't friendly and helpful (and I love the accent)!

DH and I went to London really early ( well we arrived by 08.40 so not early early) , it was so quiet

The biggest queues were in M&S Food (Marble Arch) and even that wasn't too bad.
We went from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road .

Plan to do the last minute shopping tomorrow so girding the loins and sharpening the elbows in readiness .

I have a couple of presents to wrap (I have bags for them) and DS money gift to wrap.

I ordered some Elemis for my present from DS but it won't arrive till after Christmas .

Hello friends! Sorry I was MIA all day. Been dealing with yanking up ugly hideous tile and cleaning up my house. Husband and I will go out after he's off work at 9 PM and get the rest of our Christmas present and food shopping done so we don't have to go out again until AFTER Christmas.

So for one of my oldest kid's gifts (she's almost 15 btw) we had thought about giving her a card and writing in it something like 'We will buy you $50 of items from Hot Topic of your choosing' because she's big into Pastel Goth. But today as she had me shave part of her head I remembered that she's wanted to dye her hair. So now I'm considering adding to her card 'Or a professional hair dye color of your choosing' because I think that would really make her feel lovely. She was talking about pastel pink or purple for her hair.

I wanted a flamingo bag, but it didn’t have wheels so the unicorn was the next best option paddy has had me in fits of laughter already this morning, he’s 6ft4 and he was walking around our house wheeling the hospital bag practically bent in half as the handle isn’t long enough he’s found a way of adding something to it so he can extend it further
Aye it’s so nice whoever gave us the turkey, but I can’t work out who in gods name it could be and it’s driving me mad! 😂 I’m going to have to pay it forward and do an anonymous good deed for someone else 😁

Morning, I have to collect our Booths' order today. It should be OK though as Booths-busy is usually rather more refined than, say, Asda!

It's DH's birthday today and I think we are going to the pine woods if it's not chucking it down as forecast! Chippy tea tonight for dinner as his birthday treat.

I need to make the Yorkshires for our Boxing Day roast today while I remember!

Must also remember to buy butter and cream in Booths too.

At least I can hand some of these subs back to the driver when he arrives. I ordered a terry’s milk choc orange, they don’t have that so are delivering 3x dark ones instead?! I don’t eat dark choc and why on earth are they sending 3?!
