Christmas Villages - do you have one?

Can I see your Christmas village please? I love Christmas villages but only have space for a small scene. Mine is Christmas Carol themed as my houses have the names Scrooge and Marley, Cratchit, Butcher and Candles above their doors. I also have Scrooge and Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim figures. The billboard carrier is advertising a showing of A Christmas Carol.

these are lovely! we've got the lego christmas market set & the lego christmas train, so not really a christmas village, but we love building them on the first weekend of december each year :)

Nearly forgot this cross stitch village which I made a few years ago. I haven’t put it up this year

The dc love setting this out. Each year I wait until the after Xmas sales and buy another item. The multicoloured house clashes with the other ones but the dc love switching it on and watching the Xmas tree go round and round.
You can just spot the little wooden reindeer they made years ago at a winter wonderland we visited.

Puddle...I wish I was as clever as you. They're gorgeous.

Riotingbananas · 05/12/2018 14:46

I've got an American village Blush In my defence, I would like to point out that I bought it second hand from a friend. The detail and quality is amazing. Love it for all its snowy tackiness. Most of the buildings I've got have been retired now, but this is the current range: rubs hands

Puddelchen · 05/12/2018 14:57

The American village is lovely, but expensive! Second hand is definitely the way to go.

If you like model snow scenes get down to the Harry Potter studio tour and see Hogwarts in the snow, it's jaw-droppingly good.

MoaningSickness · 05/12/2018 16:36

Every year I wander round the garden centre and look at the houses etc and imagine the future day (probably never to come) where I will have the space and money for one of these. Lovely to see everyone's Smile

Clicked on this thread because I had no idea what was meant by a Christmas village! Having googled, I'm not a big fan generally, but Mysttryharder - I love your Lego one!

NigelGresley · 05/12/2018 17:36

Puddelchen · 05/12/2018 18:04

Thanks to everyone who has shared. It’s been a pleasure to see the different villages.

Aww I really want one Star they are all absolutely lovely!

onthenaughtystepagain · 05/12/2018 19:22

Puddelchen We too have a village from the Erzegebirge in the old East Germany, we also have a large collection of the smoking men and a couple of nut crackers, I dread to think what we've spent over the years! There's a little shop in Skipton, Wonder in Wood, that imports a lot of the genuine German pieces, as well as superb advent pyramids, they have a website and are very helpful, whether they have the Lichthaueser I don't know. (I'm not connected with them btw!)

Puddelchen · 05/12/2018 19:52

Onthenaughtystep yes, I have bought from the shop you mention, it is very good. But a lot of my wooden bits and pieces have been bought from German websites and German eBay. I too have spent a fortune over the years. But they are worth it.

Ours is coming out on Sunday. It's my husbands pride and joy. I'll post photos then. X

IceRebel · 05/12/2018 19:58

@musttryharder Where did you get the lights for your Lego tree? I also have the same tree, and would love to illuminate it. Smile

Puddelchen · 05/12/2018 20:08

Unlurk, you have the same rotating Santa Claus as I do. Ours isn't plugged in this year as it's not near any plugs, but last years our wobbled a lot when Santa rotated. Does your's wobble or do you stabilise it?
