I'm trying to get some inspiration because I'm trying to switch mine up this year. I'd really appreciate it x

Here's mine. I have a puppy that can jump high and likes to chew anything she can get her hands on so this is my tree this year! Ha ha

Ha ha @poodlespoodles just made me chuckle. It's still up though and no matter how a Christmas tree is up they look magical. I have a friend who has flocked trees and literally just has lights on them, her house always looks so festive x

@mumof2sarah not til December, I'm hosting a Christmas Fair next Saturday so might be in the spirit to door then...or might be shattered and wait til Sunday!

Jakethekid · 24/11/2018 16:11

Sorry, I know this isn't my thread but are the trees above real or fake? I always use my fake one and keep saying I will buy a real one/invest in a really good fake one every year and never do.

Annandale · 24/11/2018 16:14

Lanebro I absolutely love those. It's inspired me to go for a bit more bling this year.

I always have a real tree because the smell of the tree is the single thing I can't do Christmas without. It does cost though, I budget £30 which is a lot.

mumof2sarah · 24/11/2018 16:18

@Jakethekid the last tree I bought was from studio 24, it's the most realest looking fake tree I've seen and it's lasted amazing, I do love real trees but they make sad when they start to shed x

Here, a fake tree. A real one gets the dcat going and he brought one down once, tub of water and all before, so this one is a little safer when he attacks it,...we hope.

@Bath9000 I love that tree, it's look so beautiful xx

I use those sentsicles on my tree on a Christmas tree scent (can't remember which) and it does genuinely smell like a Christmas tree. I would just love a really bushy tree. I have a 2 year old so I worry about a new tree and him destroying it.

lanbro · 24/11/2018 16:42

Both my trees are artificial, all the decs are twisted onto the branches so no one can pull then off!

mumof2sarah · 24/11/2018 16:51

@Jakethekid - @lanbro has the best tip ever, I don't use the string of the baubles I buy plant wire (the really strong wire you use to tie the plant to the stick things) and use that to put all baubles on they don't budge then. As for the tree, my daughter soon began to get bored of hearing no after the first day or two and stopped bothering to touch it xx

mumof2sarah · 24/11/2018 16:53

@Jakethekid sorry another tip, I made up a sensory style Christmas basket with baubles (plastic obviously),tinsel, a tree branch, acorns and other little bits (inc. a little light up snowman) and gave my DD that as a distraction too,,, it worked wonders x

Love your tree curiousSmile

Jakethekid · 24/11/2018 17:01

mumof2sarah good idea. Although my son gets bored very quickly of the things I allow him to have. Like most children he only wants the things you say no to.

The red tree is beautiful! I love the bow on the top. I always put a star on and I hate how mine sits.

Curious2468 · 24/11/2018 17:01

Should say I’m not done decorating it yet either, need to send my husband up to the loft again

mumof2sarah · 24/11/2018 17:06

@Twotome that's so pretty, I have red and gold and keep thinking of new colours but I love the tradition of them so much xx

@Curious2468 I've been waiting to see this tree done since a last post we spoke on. I love it so much, please post an absolutely complete tree for me when you can.. thank you xx

Did it last weekend, tbh I don't do it this early usually but I'm so busy for the next few weekends so ...

I do turquoise, silver and red in the rest of the house but on the tree all bets are off.

beeefcake · 24/11/2018 17:34

Mine going up tomorrow will post a pic then!

mumof2sarah · 24/11/2018 19:44

@MissBehaving1000 that's gorgeous, I love those colours together xx

@rosieposey that looks so cozy and festive xx

@Annandale sounds lovely xx

@beeefcake I can't wait to see it xx
