I always do bedtimes alone, as that's when DH is washing up and making his supper.

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/11/2018 21:25

That wouldn't work for me Firefly, I always start at the back! I think it's a learnt habit from my granny.

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/11/2018 21:30

Picked DS2 up, dropped him off at a party, had spaghetti Bolognese, picked him up at 6, he was in bed by 7.45, DD was in bed by 8.05, did wash, did DS2's snack: half a baguettine and carrot sticks, in bed now. 🎁🎂🎈🎉🎊😋🍝😴

mhilley · 05/11/2018 21:47

Just bought this cute plate as the countdown is getting closer! Can't believe it's nearly here... www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AngelasXmasPlates

AceyMac13 · 06/11/2018 05:22

Thank you all once again for your kind words :)
I love the name too, and it’s a wonderful way to pay tribute to my dad :)
When I got home last night, there was two parcels that had been left, I was confused because I haven’t ordered anything. I opened them and it was the flamingo pushchair and a flamingo cot, my dad had ordered them for Addison before he went into hospital. So sweet.
I’m doing okay at the moment, even managed some breakfast. It’s like waves of grief followed by hours of gut wrenching agony, then waves of being numb.
I appreciate all your kind words and wishes. I have my 20 week scan on Thursday, so I am focusing on that and seeing Addison again whilst I sort funeral arrangements.

We're into the 40s! Xmas Shock

Morning! Up early for DD's reading booster.

Drinking coffee and watching BBC world news. Brew

Ordered DS1's Lego eGift card yesterday, the first present I've bought! Xmas Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 06/11/2018 06:00

WreckTangled · 06/11/2018 06:53

Acey it must still be such a shock, it happened so quickly. Do be kind to yourself.

Raining in Lapland today 🤔 some snow forecast at the weekend though. Man this is stressful!

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/11/2018 08:12

I translate that as 7 Mondays Fluffy, as the CTC get paid in on a Monday, so that's when I buy presents.

DD left at 7.30, she'll be doing her booster now. 😆

Redgreencoverplant · 06/11/2018 08:54

DH has just won £150 in Amazon vouchers at work! Such a relief as due to my new job being less well paid and DH not starting his new better paid job until December it was going to be a lean month. Now I can get the remaining presents without worrying :)

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/11/2018 09:05

Brilliant news Redgreen and what a relief.

I'm going to rub my lottery ticket on this thread for luck after your's and Fluffy's success.

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/11/2018 09:54

Brilliant Redgreen! I'm 3 weeks and 3 days ahead on dinner money for each DC, so I don't have to pay anything until 25th November (Rudolph day!) when I only have to pay £7.20, then back to £18 the following week! 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆

There's definitely something about this thread!

Looked at Christmassy things and costumes for DS2 for Christmas, they don't have Batman in his size so I'll order it click and collect, having super scrambled egg and a banana today. 🎅🎄🎅🎄😋🍌

FrangelicoCandyBoughs · 06/11/2018 10:25

It’s proper Christmas in our house! We put Christmas songs on as we got ready this morningGrin

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/11/2018 12:55

Just had 4 spelt and fig flatbreads with Welsh rarebit and far too many lebkuchen stars. 😋🎅🎄

FurForksSake · 06/11/2018 13:08

Place marking! Don't think I'll catch up on what I've missed now, sorry.

Will try and read back later.

Hugs and waves to all!

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/11/2018 14:42

DS2's got basketball club today. 🏀

NerosFiddle · 06/11/2018 14:45

It's another day of sickness in the Nero household. I might have to put my secret weapon of Arthur Christmas on later to make everyone feel a bit better.

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/11/2018 14:51

Hope everyone gets well soon Nero. I've just bought DS2 Mr Bean's Christmas, he loves the cartoon, and he saw Mr Bean's Holiday on TV at the weekend, which he enjoyed.

Mrsmadevans · 06/11/2018 16:05

Your DS2 has great taste PSB [smile[
Been really busy , Dad had a huge appt yesterday with the Haematologist , he has been c/o back pain and lethargy as well as stomach discomfort. Anyway yest was his routine 3 monthly appt and when we go they take his Bloods for everything, he had a low Hb so she gave him an iron infusion , he had a chest x ray and back xrays , then to top it off he had Conjunctivitis. Anyway she sorted him out but we were there most of the day only to get home and see that Mums legs have flared up again and she was feeling poorly. So today l took her to see the Gp who took her temp and it was raised to 38c , he has diagnosed cellulitis AGAIN and given her a 2 week course of Antibiotics. We came home and l had to peel the top off her she was sweating so badly , poor thing. Anyway that is my Monday & Tuesday ! Hmm So forgive me for not keeping up , l did just share a pic of the LOL bigger Surprise to the bargain thread because it looks a heap of junk for 85 quid , will show you now . Then came home and made a broccoli cheese and a Brioche Butter pudding for tea Xmas Grin yummy heehee.
Hope all ok l will go through the msgs l have missed now and write back properly .

Acey big hugs, take it one day at a time. How lovely and thoughtful that he'd ordered the pram. Flowers.

Philomena Those spelt and fig flatbreads sound amazing!

Nero I hope everyone gets better soon, Arthur christmas is a very good shout!

Mrsmad Sounds like a very busy day for you, you must be glad to be home and out of a medical environment! £85?!!!!!??!?! That's crazy!!! Both of those meals look yummy, especially the brioche butter pudding. Do you have a recipe by any chance?

mhilley That plate looks lovely :) we have something very similar but the names bit is wipe clean as I don't want to get a permanent one till all of our children are born. (cheapie me!).

redgreen brilliant win!

BiddyPop · 06/11/2018 16:58

There were Christmas songs playing in a few stores this morning. Although some people are grumping about that. But the office countdown has reached under 50, so most are starting to see some festive spirit building (I think most feel a need for it, to release some of the other stresses building around work issues!!). Office Christmas Lunch now booked as well, thanks to a surprisingly festive Christmas Elf! (He's normally a bit of a Grinch character!).

This evening, I have my garland to bring home from under my desk, and a few more small things I've picked up along the way. Tonight, I have paperwork for Cubs to do, and some knitting. And getting a good sleep ahead of another day of serious debates...at least it's different to today's job of ploughing through legal arguments in old files....

NerosFiddle · 06/11/2018 16:59

That's a lot of illness to deal with by yourself Mrs. I hope you get some downtime soon.
Ps if you won't eat all the bread a butter pudding, it won't go to waste over here

Mrsmadevans · 06/11/2018 17:01

Candy boughs are you Heavy? Only Heavy has gone and you have come and l don't know whether l am coming or going lol Grin anyway , welcome if you are not Heavy and if you are Heavy forgive me for not getting the gist of it m'dear Xmas Grin
Acey your lovely Dad to get you the pram and cot ah bless him, hope you are doing as best as you can be m'dear , big hugs Smile
Shower room is finished hooray!
Have been chasing the Ocupational Therapist to get Mum a shower chair , all day Fri, all day Mon, all day Today , (in between the other loads of things to do ) finally l got her and a chair is coming in the week YAY!
Gave Dad's bedroom a massive clean today so that is one room down and about 8 to go Hmm the dust is horrendous from the shower room but the shower room is lovely so it is all good.
The DPs had the cheek to tell me that they thought they were going to have a cubicle for them to stand in, not a wet room. Quite honestly l could have cried , my DH was fuming with them because l am not exaggerating now but l have had to work so hard to get it for them. He said they are very ungrateful. He is right too! How on earth they think they can stand in the shower cubicle when they can't stand on solid ground has actually made me laugh at the complete ridiculousness of their warped thinking ! WTAF!! LOL Xmas GrinXmas Grin
Anyway that is my feedback lol
Off to scoff the brioche pud and sod the flipping diet Xmas Grin
Hope all well and have a good evening Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 06/11/2018 17:26

Great news, Redgreen. What a relief!
