Here we go again. I think the last thread was the quickest ever, so this one probably won't even get to Halloween, but we shall see!

It's one of those mornings when I don't know why I'm awake. 😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2018 05:24

Whoop, Heavy! Great news.

I've just tried Waitrose and they've stopped delivering to us here! 😱😱 I used to book a slot as back up, but clearly no more!

PhilomenaButterfly · 02/10/2018 05:59

Waitrose are gits for doing that Fluffy.

Sainsbury's is on our doorstep, I mean 2 minutes away, so no need for online ordering, in fact I'd feel very lazy! Anyway, I have an excuse to have a gingerbread latte before shopping! 😂

Redgreencoverplant · 02/10/2018 06:06

Congrats Heavy :)

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2018 06:51

We talked about it last night and have decided to not buy from the Christmas ordering pages as it's all about catering for masses of people, and there's only 7 of us including the kids. So I'll just get a normal delivery with everything we want in it, topping up from our butcher.

Our Sainsbury's is tiny and a couple of miles away, so no good for a big shop. There's planning permission in place for a massive store with petrol station. Homebase closed almost a year ago now to make way for it, but no building has started yet. It had to go all the way to the Secretary of State to get permission, so I'd be surprised if they don't build it! I can't wait for it to open.

Congratulations Heavy!

Redgreencoverplant · 02/10/2018 09:39

So we have decided to have the traditional Christmas dinner the weekend before Christmas when family are visiting. And then a buffet on Christmas Day for the 3 of us as DS won't want to sit and eat a roast when there are new toys and it would be lovely and easy. Has anyone done that before?

NerosFiddle · 02/10/2018 09:51

I've just been informed that Tesco won't deliver to us on Christmas Eve. We're in an area that doesn't deliver at all on Christmas Eve Xmas Angry.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2018 10:06

Red, we do that!

Our two are 4 and 5 and we've had a buffet for the last two Christmases. It's bloody ace.

We do the roast on Boxing Day instead though.

Hope I'm not too late to jump on this thread!![santa]

FurForksSake · 02/10/2018 10:37

Mine are 3 and 5 and love a roast dinner. last year both mine were ill if you remember (I was mummyreindeerlegs or something then) and it was the worst Christmas. Wilf ended up in hospital Christmas week throwing up blood. The week before he had horrendous tonsilitis. Gabe was being sick on Christmas day and we just muddled through some how.

PhilomenaButterfly · 02/10/2018 10:56

Oh dear Fur, that must've been a miserable Christmas.

After dropping DS2 off, walked to DD's 2nd choice secondary school, also lovely and tiny! I think she's still going for the girls' school for 1st choice though. I've done so much walking this morning!

Just had eggs and bacon and a banana. 😋🍳🍌

Heavystream · 02/10/2018 14:16

Thank you all! Very excited now!.

Getting Arthur in an hour then popping to Sainsbury’s to get some food. All the talk about shops has made me wonder what shops are by the new house so will be having a quick mooch now to see whether they all deliver to us!.

Seafoodeatit · 02/10/2018 14:25

fur that sounds horrendous! I hope this christmas will make up for it.

orderofthenix It's never too late to join!

I'm off to the do school run but feeling very festive as I've ordered our christmas food now :) Feels like the free chocolates aren't as good this year? I remember they used to come in a jar, think it's just a box now ...

PhilomenaButterfly · 02/10/2018 14:33

I bought roast turkey and herb stuffing crisps yesterday, I've had half a bag, I've bought parmesan and garlic twists today.

I still have no idea what Sainsbury's Christmas coffee is Acey! Confused

DS2's got basketball club today, so he doesn't finish until 4. DD will just get home and then I'll have to go and get him! 😆

AceyMac13 · 02/10/2018 14:44

Hiya!
Haven’t been on much, just trying to get everything finalised ready for the move back home next week 😁

Congrats heavy that’s amazing news! So happy for you 😁

Philomena - here is a picture of the Xmas cofffee before I ransacked the shelves 😂

Afternoon all Smile
Just got back from Cardiff, had a lovely day Smile
Got myself a new Moto G play 6 phone , my old one was the original Moto Gplay with no numbers lol Xmas Grin
I hate having a new phone cos l can't remember my p/words to any of my apps or my emails or FB Hmm l am hopeless, anyway DD has come to my rescue and l am not in possession of a new Gmail password and l have noted it down lol Xmas Grin so hope it goes ok , fingers crossed
Went into Whittards I tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding White Hot Chocolate it was very nice on tasting it initially but awfully sweet , l won't be buying any . l felt awful leaving the shop without buying it but l could not see myself drinking it.
Went into Marks , they did have some lovely clothes that (Smug) Holly Willoughby is advertising , l wanted to hate them all but they were very nice Hmm, lots of chocs & biscuits on sale for Christmas too.
Boots Christmas shop was ready & Primark was full to bursting of Christmas stuff & presents. I didn't buy anything Xmas Grin just my lunch Had some Turkey & Cranberry sarnies PSB lol and a free cakey & coffee in John Lewis.... very nice too Smile
Lots of nice toys in TKMAX and their Christmas stuff is filtering in. It seemed very quiet in the more expensive stores & Howells very quiet Sad it seems as if the high street is going down the pan. That is progress for you !

FurForksSake · 02/10/2018 17:22

Ooh I love over sweet hot chocolate, I add hazelnut and caramel syrup to mine so maybe that would be for me :)

If I can get my hours in I might have a mooch in town Thursday morning. I should have a free cake voucher somewhere. I never use them as I don't drink hot drinks :(
