Here we go again. I think the last thread was the quickest ever, so this one probably won't even get to Halloween, but we shall see!

I'd be the only one who ate the crisps, the DC and DH don't eat naice crisps. If the DC ever did shopping with me now, they'd be asking me for the stocking filler chocolates for puddings.

WreckTangled · 30/09/2018 08:16

Morning everyone.

We went to Brighton yesterday and had a mooch and some food. Primark are starting to get their Christmas bits out.

Morning all. I have a bit of a sore throat today so I'm going to feel sorry for myself. I'll make myself a big pot of tea and read my Christmas magazines when dc are having their nap.

curly100 · 30/09/2018 10:22

Morning all,

Haven't posted for ages but thought it worth mentioning that they had the Boots Christmas Gift Guide in the Gyle store, Edinburgh yesterday :-)

PhilomenaButterfly · 30/09/2018 11:27

Fnar fnar Mrs.

I only realised he was the Sorting Hat when I googled, and said exactly what you just did: "he IS the Sorting Hat voice!"

Afternoon all! Gonna try and keep up with replying to everyone on this thread as I always let it slip after a couple of days!

Acey Hope you got some sleep my lovely!, I bet you’re excited to go home!

BB Hope you start feeling better soon!

It’s so lovely to hear that all these shops are putting some Christmas things up now, not long to go now at all!.

We went to see the house yesterday, I really like it. It’s close to a few good schools and there are shops nearby. It’s also really close to mum and nan. The only problem is the gardens small and slabbed so we will have to get rid of our chickens unfortunately and maybe get a jungle gym style thing for the boys. We’ve put an offer in so just waiting to hear back now then hopefully we can make the move as quick as possible!.

PhilomenaButterfly · 30/09/2018 12:20

Love the Santa biscuits! 🎅

Making creamy peppercorn chicken with sautéed potatoes for lunch. 😋🍗

Redgreencoverplant · 30/09/2018 14:51

Fab biscuits!

We have had a busy weekend with SIL visiting but DS is currently asleep on the sofa so we are having a quiet sit down :)

Went to the RSPB reserve earlier and they had their Christmas stuff in. Gorgeous designs!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/09/2018 15:36

We went to TKMaxx today , (they have HomeSense on the top floor)
Fair bit of Hallowe'en , but the Christmas stock is sneaking in too Xmas Grin

They do the most gorgeous Christmas gift boxes , I used to buy them for the CEH and the DC used them as storage afterwards.
Last year I bought huge bags for the CEH, DD uses hers for tights .

Costco has some decorations, paper , candles, couple of trees (7' and 12' so way too tall)

I bought my usual olives, water, orange juice, soya milk, pasta, cheddar, looroll

They do really good own brand detergents and dishwasher tablets. Binbags , puppy pads .
Its interesting to see what everyone is buying , but there are some of the worst trolley pushers in there . And people who just abandon their trolley and aisle block

I don't like the womens clothes but I've bought jackets for DH and DS over the years .

YY to the trays of iced buns and the croissants but we'd never get through them all (though I did give a tray of almond croissants a run for its money a few years back ) Xmas Grin

FurForksSake · 30/09/2018 16:03

We were having a discussion about what chocolate we would add to the tub of christmas sweets. We decided that a gold bar would make a good addition. Just a square of it. I know it is really a biscuit, but I reckon it would add a nice touch. That and tiny boosts.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2018 16:13

We're listening to Michael Buble's Christmas CD today. The DCs were writing their lists and I was cross stitching the Scandi tree design I'm doing. It all felt very festive!

I've got a Costco card. We need to go and see what they have. You have to be careful with their prices, as I know that some things can be found cheaper elsewhere, even if not in bulk. Worth a peek, however!

FurForksSake · 30/09/2018 16:18

We freeze the cakes and croissants from Costco, they freeze really well!

WreckTangled · 30/09/2018 16:40

Dh and I were discussing how we would love to go away for Christmas one year to a snowy log cabin. I've had a look on air bnb and it might be doable that way, they companies that advertise are ££££

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/09/2018 17:15

YY , the coffee in Costco is really ££
We don't buy meat or fish .
Looroll is brilliant value , kitchen towel not so much because I'm never going to use it all.

I bought some Calvin Klein knickers for DD which were £17 / 3 pairs (but I knew how mu they cost in store so a bit of a bargain there)

But it's the huge rolls of foil and clingfilm , and their binbags. If I run out and have to buy in the supermarket , I'm "Whaaat ? How much?"

CrazyBaubles · 30/09/2018 17:25

Hello on the new thread Xmas Smile

Acey I completely agree with MrsMad - your ex should be ashamed of himself! The childhood your planning for your little one sounds ideal though.

70 Another one here who is jealous of your Costco trip. I've never been - my friend has a card and offers to take me but I'm scared of bankrupting myself!

Funny you mentioned the Christmas gift boxes in TK Maxx - dm works there and gives me one every year with my presents in with a little sigh and a comment about how she knows I won't regift it so what will I use this one for? Xmas Grin

Fluffy this cookies look lovely - what a fab cookie cutter!

Fingers crossed for the house Heavy

PSB your meals always sound delicious. Do you cook it all from scratch or is there some wonderful ready made / easy way you do it that I could blatantly steal?

I am having a lovely but busy weekend. MIL is staying with us so we went for a walk earlier (from Folly tower to Pontypool Park and back for the locals)! My poor legs are aching a little and DDogs have been snoring ever since. I'm now about to work a little more on the blanket as MIL is going to visit friends before we go out for tea with her. She's heading home tomorrow (a few hours away) and we won't see her again until after Christmas.

We are currently debating going away for Christmas again, breaking our own 'one at home, one away' rule because plans have altered on both sides of the family so if we do what we want (which is visiting others but having lunch at home) my parents and FIL will all be on their own, but if we're away they will make alternative plans (my parents will go to my aunties or out and FIL will go to stay with SIL)... currently looking at Scottish Highlands because we love it there.

AceyMac13 · 30/09/2018 17:57

Good evening everyone Grin

Philomena - thanks for the heads up about Sainsburys having Christmas stuff out, I went earlier and saw they had their Christmas coffee out. I loved it so much last year, so I’ve stocked up and will take it all home with me, ready for when my coffee love comes back 😂

Mrs - I’m sure your DD’s would agree with me grin thank you for your lovely words, I just want my precious wee baby to have the best life possible 😁

Love the Christmas biscuits - very festive!

Heavy - thank you my dear, I didn’t manage to get much more sleep, but I’m getting used to it now! I’m glad you liked the house you saw, and I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible for you all Smile

Crazy - thank you very much, I’m just trying to do the best I can for this wee miracle. He certainly should be ashamed of himself, although in his mind this is completely justified, that’s on him though Smile

My kitten has taken over the baby bouncer; Maverick the mischievous rascal 😂

Evening all. Sorry for being AWOL.

Life is very hectic at the moment, I just about keep up with the bargain thread but this one tends to drop off! Blush

Love that picture, Acey. I have photos of my two in all the baby stuff. Then DS was born and they couldn't get far enough away Grin

Christmas suddenly feels a lot closer! Can't believe it's October tomorrow. Where has this month gone?!?

Got my Good Housekeeping magazine yesterday, it's got a get ahead section. Squee! I'm saving it for travelling on Thursday Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 30/09/2018 19:04

Crazy I cook from scratch as much as possible, but also batch cook and freeze sauces.

Acey Christmas coffee? I'll have a look for that tomorrow. I got my Wensleydale and cranberry crisps and may have eaten half a sharing bag.

That cheeky kitten! 😂

Had fish pie for supper, DS2 will go to bed at 7.30. He's had a temperature for over 24 hours now, so no bath tonight, I'll take his temperature when he gets up tomorrow and decide whether he's going to school.

PhilomenaButterfly · 30/09/2018 21:35

DD will go to bed at 10.10. 😴
