Here we go again. I think the last thread was the quickest ever, so this one probably won't even get to Halloween, but we shall see!

This month's good housekeeping has the gift guide in it, it's pretty good, lots of ideas from there.

PhilomenaButterfly · 30/09/2018 22:37

It seems to be a cold Mrs, but I think he should stay off with a temperature. Apart from sneezing, he's otherwise fine, although the temperature's making him very touchy, you can't talk to him without him properly full-on sobbing. 😭

Mrsmadevans · 30/09/2018 22:40

Ahhh PSB bless him Sad l would defo keep him off if he is like that he can't be feeling well Flowers
Fur is that the Boots gift guide m'dear?

FurForksSake · 30/09/2018 22:50

No, goodhousekeeping do one every year, round ups of gift suggestions for foodies / women / men / kids / techy gadgets. I always find it a good list for ideas for me as much as anything!

Hope DS is better soon PSB, that temp should kill off the bugs x

Morning! Drinking coffee and waiting for Carol the Weather. Brew

PhilomenaButterfly · 01/10/2018 05:52

Yes, as DD and I keep telling him Mrs!

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2018 06:18

Morning!

Nothing new to report here. Back to work today. Boo!

Might take my GH magazine to read on the train actually. Save my data allowance as we currently have no home internet due to Openreach breaking our connection while fixing next door's! 😭😭

Oh dear! My uncle lives rurally, BT broke his phone line, they keep adding an extra day to when it'll be fixed. I've offered to lend him DS2 to terrorise them! 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2018 07:13

You'd think they would hurry back as it's their fault, but no sign of that so far!

It's October!!! Which means Christmas is the month after next :) Hopefully M&S will release their food this week!

WreckTangled · 01/10/2018 07:35

Brr chilly this morning! Work today really can't be bothered I certainly wasn't designed to work 🤔😁

BiddyPop · 01/10/2018 07:46

Morning all, I plan to catch up on the chat (all that chat!!!) later at work when I have a proper screen. But I need to placemark. Can’t believe we’re on thread 7!

Manic busy weekend but mostly successful. (I forgot the cakes for the end of 1st day of winter sailing training). But after a full day of scouting stuff across the group on Saturday, my cub leaders only left my house at 1am, so I was slightly fuzzy waking at 7.30 and forgot to buy buns on my way to the club at 8.30.

Managed to do about 30 minutes of knitting, and tick off 2/3 more jobs from the HGP (who needs to sit down for that 5 spare minutes - grab a duster and clean the cobwebs that are annoying you !😂)

NerosFiddle · 01/10/2018 08:22

Morning all. Everyone has such busy weekends, I don't know how you all fit it in. Last night dh and I went to the cinema and out for a meal. I think it was the first time we've done that since dc were born.
I must get on the pinching thread so I can get some ideas of things to do when dc take their nap in the morning.

FurForksSake · 01/10/2018 09:47

Morning all!

I'm excited for October, my favourite month! DH started his new job this morning, I have become employed instead of self-employed this morning and on Thursday I will book my Christmas food slots! woohoo!!

PhilomenaButterfly · 01/10/2018 12:03

Oh dear Fluffy! All I can suggest is keep annoying them with phonecalls until they give in!

PhilomenaButterfly · 01/10/2018 13:08

I had to go to school to pay the dinner money, had super scrambled eggs for breakfast. DS2's off today with a temperature but as bouncy as usual. He's just had bangers and mash for lunch. 💷💷😋

FireflyGirl · 01/10/2018 13:43

Glad to hear he's doing okay, PSB. You're more sympathetic than me - if DS is fine in himself, he gets shipped off to wherever he should be. He loves just staying at home and playing with his toys, so I want to discourage him from trying to pretend to be ill.

I've been very lax with the HGP, Biddy. I've come off the pill to see if that helps my energy levels can you tell I'm clutching at straws, and started vitamin D thanks to someone on here, and I do feel I have more energy, but it's set off against the fact that I've not been able to do much because I've had horrendous stomach ache for the past week Sad So the upshot is my house is not as sparkly as I would like.

PhilomenaButterfly · 01/10/2018 14:19

Firefly I think sending him to school with a temperature that can only be managed with Calpol, which they won't give him at school without a prescription, might be neglect. Well, it is in my head anyway. The secretary agrees with me, so that's okay. We'll know how ill he is tomorrow, it's the first basketball club, he wouldn't swing the lead and miss that! 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2018 14:43

I'm the same as you, Firefly. I trust the school to tell us if they need picking up!

Quite often they perk up at school anyway. I don't think either of us are neglecting our children by doing this!

PhilomenaButterfly · 01/10/2018 14:48

I was just talking about me! Just my mum-guilt! 😂 He had a roaring temperature half an hour after he woke up, so long enough to cool down after being in bed, so I'd rather keep him at home and manage his temperature with Calpol.

PhilomenaButterfly · 01/10/2018 15:12

Having said that, his temperature's stayed down all day after that 1 dose, so he's back at school tomorrow. 😆

PhilomenaButterfly · 01/10/2018 15:16

Making pigs in blankets for a pre-basketball snack for DS2 for tomorrow. 😋

WreckTangled · 01/10/2018 15:24

Fever or vomiting are the only reason my dc are allowed a day off school. I think if there's a fever in the morning it's a sure sign they're unwell as they tend to spike in the evening and cool off by the morning if it's something mild (for my dc anyway).
