Here we go again. I think the last thread was the quickest ever, so this one probably won't even get to Halloween, but we shall see!

Hello Neighbour's a horror video game Mrs, for some very odd reason, you break into your creepy neighbour's basement and try to avoid getting killed by said neighbour. It makes no sense. Halloween Grin

Had slow cooked beef in red wine with potato gratin for lunch, duck in plum sauce with egg fried rice for supper, DS2 was in bed by 5, DD will go at 7.50. 😋🍷😋🍗😴

PhilomenaDeathsHeadHawkMoth · 26/10/2018 19:26

Just realised I typed that last bit twice! Halloween Grin

PhilomenaDeathsHeadHawkMoth · 26/10/2018 19:27

Those are very pretty Mrs. Halloween Grin

WreckTangled · 26/10/2018 19:31

Thanks everyone. I phoned the gp (who phoned back in one minute and saw us in half an hour 👌🏼) and she referred us to peads at the hospital. She wasn't concerned but wanted an expert opinion. Peads saw us immediately and after an hour sent ds home as they're not concerned because it's just the temperature and swollen gland. We've been given 72 hour open access for if we're worried though.

I think I'll have a hot chocolate and early night.

Ooo I saw a spode Christmas tree dish is home sense this morning for £12.99. I didn't buy it as we're trying to be careful money wise. Wish I had though 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 26/10/2018 20:14

And that's why the NHS is bloody amazing, Wreck! Did they take any bloods or anything, or was it examination only? At least they're not worried though. That's something!

Mrs, the kids aren't too bad; the coughs are loosening, which is good. See what the weekend brings for them now!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 26/10/2018 20:20

No they said there's no point in doing bloods as all it was show it what we already know already; that he's got a bug of some sort. I bet he'll be fine tomorrow after all this! I was a bit worried because he was so hot yet his hands were freezing and lips slightly blue but they're happy so I am too now.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/10/2018 20:25

There's some evil bugs around, that's for sure!

FireflyGirl · 26/10/2018 20:45

Glad to hear you managed to get your DS checked out, Wreck.

I love Aldi. I'm having problems with my energy levels and don't get a lot of free time due to learning stuff for the new job, so we decided to do online shopping for a while and bought a delivery pass.

In Aldi, weekly shop was £30ish - you have to spend over £40 to get it delivered at Morrisons, and I can pass that easily!

As a bonus though, it means I got to book my Christmas delivery slot. Even though I thought my pass finished before then...

We've had Turkish takeaway for tea as it's DBIL's birthday on Sunday. I'm trying to lose weight before Christmas, not sure if eating a mound of Turkish bread, hummus, other dips, falafel and chicken shish followed by baklava will have helped... It was good, though Grin

It's a bit chilly tonight, think it might be time to get the winter duvets back out!

FireflyGirl · 26/10/2018 21:21

I'm nithered - I've put the winter quilt over the top of the summer one and jumped in. Snuggly early night for me, I think! Grin

NerosFiddle · 26/10/2018 21:34

Glad your DS got seen Wreck. These children do like to scare us.
I'm supposed to be getting an early night tonight as I still have every to get ready for DS party tomorrow. Why I thought it was a good idea to throw a 2yo a birthday party I'll never know.

FireflyGirl · 27/10/2018 06:41

Woohoo, into the 50s now!

Consequence of my early night is I am now awake!

Enjoy your party, Nero. Are you having it at home or have you hired somewhere?

WreckTangled · 27/10/2018 06:46

I too had an early night and am now awake. Dh has been in with ds overnight they're both still asleep. Dd snuck into my bed about half an hour ago and is snoozing.

It's cold here too I gave in and put the heating on Thursday evening and I'm glad I did.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2018 07:40

Morning!

Enjoy the party, Nero and MiniNero!

It's getting really cold here. I added an extra half an hour to the morning heating during this week, but it's currently only 15.8 degrees in the lounge, so needs to warm up a bit before it's bearable. If it's sunny today it'll help a bit.

We are off to the pine woods today as DD has to make a sculpture with natural things, so we will collect a load for her to crest something in the garden.

I need to mow today really, but it has to be at about 4pm as it won't be dry before then. Hopefully it'll be the last one now.

Morning everyone. Can't believe we're in the 50's already!

Plan today is to hit the Sainsbury's 25% off sale and start buying the Christmas presents which have been sat in online shopping baskets for weeks as it was payday and bonus day for me yesterday.

First I have to get out of bed though, and I was out and drunk yesterday so my head hurts. I'm trying to bribe DH in to bringing me tea and egg on toast in bed

Mrsmadevans · 27/10/2018 08:55

So, it's snowing... Confused

Not hard, and not laying, but still!

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2018 10:09

We had hail yesterday, so similar icy stuff from the sky! I've left the central heating turned on as it's so cold today!

Morning! I wish I could hit the 25% off sale, the DC haven't told me what they want yet! Haloween Sad

PhilomenaDeathsHeadHawkMoth · 27/10/2018 12:26

Making a lasagne for lunch. DD doesn't want to do the trick or treat trail in the local park, so we won't do it. 😋🎃

PhilomenaDeathsHeadHawkMoth · 27/10/2018 12:29

Mrs DS2 says "Yeah, it is a good game!" Halloween Grin

Heavystream · 27/10/2018 14:06

Hi all, sorry I haven’t been active we’re moving in Monday so been packing!. It snowed by us today and now it’s rainy and windy. So lovely though. Arthur had his last day at school yesterday and he got some lovely cards off his friends, hoping he settles in well at his new school. We’ve decided on the name Edmund for this little one!. Hope you’re all sell!.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2018 14:48

That happened so quickly, Heavy! Is the sale of your house going through OK?

We went to the woods and got conned into paying for the kids to make broomsticks while we were there! We collected a carrier bag of woodland bits to make DD's sculpture homework with (in the style of Andy Goldsworthy, who we'd never heard of until being given this homework!).

I'm now making mince pies to freeze for Christmas. I'll make 2-3 more batches before the day so we can eat them throughout advent! 😋 Despite having a cupboard full of mincemeat, I made more for this recipe as it had its own recipe for it included. I'll use my own for the next batches as I'll use an Ainsley pastry recipe for those.

I don't remember what time I put the pastry in the fridge, so will just get it out soon, I think! Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/10/2018 15:03

Fluffy DS's half term homework is an Andy Goldsworthy piece too. What a coincidence. He must be the artist du jour in schools. Given that we have a square of lawn with a shed and a patio blank canvas of garden for him to source his materials from we may have to head off to a country park for some inspiration.

Heavystream · 27/10/2018 15:10

It has gone very quickly we’re very very lucky. The sale has gone well too, neighbour ended up buying and we’re just finishing off last of the paper work.
