Here we go again. I think the last thread was the quickest ever, so this one probably won't even get to Halloween, but we shall see!

DD had a chicken and mushroom Pukka pie for lunch. 😋🍗🍄

AceyMac13 · 10/10/2018 17:10

evening!
Just got back to the hotel, going out for dinner with 2 of my brothers, friends from work and some other friends here for my final night in England! Be nice to say goodbye, I just can’t wait to get home!
We fly at 9.10pm tomorrow and I have midwife in the morning Grin

Mrs - I think you’re right, it was definitely meant to be. I’m sad that baby daddy doesn’t want to be involved, and that he can walk away from his child so easily, but I’m so blessed to be able to raise this wee miracle where I grew up, and for him or her to become close to my family. Everything definitely happens for a reason 😁 Oh god the nightmare neighbours, I’m so glad to be away from them, I forgot what peace and quiet was like Grin

No problem Philomena 😁

Better rush off, need to get ready! Have a lovely evening all!

WreckTangled · 10/10/2018 18:50

Had to take dd back to school for six for a school council thing then got stuck behind a tractor and then got stuck trying to squeeze pass someone who was awful at reversing. Pleased to be home even if dh is grumpy

Grin at the Christmas tree!

Dh has gone out (for the third night since Saturday) he's being selfish at the moment but if I dared to say anything he would jump down my throat and turn it back on me so I'll just let him get on with it and won't do his washing

Mrsmadevans · 10/10/2018 19:52

Ahhh Wreck Flowers , l know sometimes it just isn't worth having a go , sometimes it is more trouble than it is worth . I love my DH & he is a good man and l am so lucky but ......he turns into a monster when he drives , he is very arrogant on times and can be very annoying Hmm
Just fight the battles that are worth it, imho sometimes it just needs to go over our heads Flowers Wine and if in doubt plenty of Brew & Cake Hugs galore my dear Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2018 19:56

Evening!

How's your DD doing, Mrs? I hope the ABs are kicking in good and proper!

Hi Biddy, you're always so busy!

Acey, have a fab last night here. Your excitement at going home shines through the screen!

No job news yet. It was meant to be today, but wasn't! HR think tomorrow morning now. Two different people interviewed, so they're deciding whether to offer or go for a second round so the male interviewer can see the person he'd be working with. I like that they're taking their time as you know they've really put thought into the decision (though I hope it doesn't go against me!).

Fluffy!!! ahhh they are taking their time ! Like you say though they putting a lot of thought into it so hopefully it will mean you will be going to a great team if you get it Smile
DD2 is having a bit of pain tonight but she has taken Ibuprofen & Cocodamol and hopefully she will be able to get another good nights sleep tonight Smile
I did so much washing today for the parents, 3 loads of bedding and a load of whites . Dad was sick yesterday all over his bedclothes (he is fine now Thank God ) so there was a lot more than normal, great news is though l managed to dry all the bedclothes and they are now airing so l am feeling very pleased lol . I find it a bit daft how satisfying it is getting the washing out on the line & dry . I think it might be a Mrsmadevans/woman thing lol !
Hope everyone has a lovely night tonight and a great nights sleep Smile

WreckTangled · 10/10/2018 20:18

Eek fluffy how nerve wracking for you!

CrazyBaubles · 10/10/2018 20:59

Fluffy - It's good that they're being thorough about this job but surely they should have thought about this and given you the correct timeframe rather than just pushing it back again and again?

Acey I'm so happy for your move tomorrow, it sounds like you're going to be so happy to be home. Also love that your brothers are happy to pack up a car and drive back so you can fly with just your hand luggage.

Thank you MrsMad apparently the ladybirds do hibernate and they're swarming to find somewhere to go. Fingers crossed they disappear soon because they're everywhere and it's really making me tense and DH is being an arse about it

That upside down ceiling tree is just wrong. Who on earth came up with that??

Ah Wreck how frustrating (the tractor I mean). Why is your DH being selfish? I second refusing to do his washing / cooking / anything else you do for him until he apologises with something festive and amazing

Me and my DH are butting heads a little bit lately too. Both stressed by work for very different reasons and I don't think either of us are being particularly nice (although I'm definitely being nicer than him)!

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 21:13

No, sorry, Mrs, just an ordinary oven one. They don't sell the microwaveable ones in Sainsbury's. 😭 Also, DD will only eat the chicken and mushroom ones. Hmm

Picked DS2 up, had Thai green chicken curry for supper, DS2 was in bed by 8.15, we're not supposed to move his bedtime to help him sleep, but it's unavoidable on Adventure nights, DD will go at 9.40, doing wash, put uniforms out, put PE kit and swimming kit in bags for Tuesday. 😋🍛😴

WreckTangled · 10/10/2018 21:15

We're struggling with money right now (thanks to an hmrc fuck up) and we always end up being snippy with each other when we're short of money. But he just thinks he does so much and because I work less hours I should do more. Also though I don't think he realises what I do. Example: before school this morning he got the dc breakfast and unloaded the dishwasher. Also made DD's lunch (didn't pack it just left it loose on the side Hmm). I made sure the dc were dressed, teeth brushed, beds all made, curtains open, dishwasher loaded, hoovered downstairs, mopped kitchen, packed school bags and wrote in reading diaries. I leave thirty mins after him so I think I do more than him. He thinks he does plenty. I'm sure lots of parents have similar arguments and I know it's pointless to argue over it but every now and then it really pisses me off. I finish work at three but on Monday I came straight home met ds off the bus, did his spelling, got dd from after school club, gave them dinner, took them to swimming lessons, got home and put them both to bed because dh was at football. I do both and I can say running around after dc and trying to get dinner/homework/clubs etc sorted is more stressful than work. Blah. Sorry. Rant over. I'm going to go to sleep now Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 21:36

People are forever asking if DH can help with the DC in the mornings. Not really, DD's still asleep when he leaves for work. I'd quite like DS2 to still be asleep too.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2018 22:33

I'm already gone by the time ours get up, but I do a fair amount when I'm home.

Crazy, it was always going to be this week, and this is the first 'definite' deadline they've missed. Though it's HR giving the deadlines to the agency, not the decision-makers, so it could all be Chinese whispers!

I've spent the evening doing more cross stitch. I should have it done by the end of next week!

Dozed a bit, woken up by my app. 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2018 06:22

I'm up, have been since 5.15. I did mooch about a bit before doing anything though as I'm on a late (9-6) today when I normally start at 8.

Today is my Friday. Woooo!

WreckTangled · 11/10/2018 06:52

My Friday too woo hoo!

AceyMac13 · 11/10/2018 07:03

Morning! Grin
Running on about an hours sleep, I’m just too excited to care how tired I am now 😂

Midwife at 9.30 then off to one of my brothers to see if he needs help with any last minute packing Smile

Mrs - the meal was lovely thank you. I will definitely keep in touch with you all Grin hope your DD isn’t in too much pain with her toothache! Love the Christmas tree idea, that made me laugh Grin

Fluffy - I don’t think I can contain my excitement any longer Grin it’s good that they are taking their time making a decision, and putting a lot of thought into it. Keeping everything crossed that you get good news!

Crazy - thank you, I’m so happy too Grin my brothers are awesome, couldn’t be without them Grin I’m definitely going to be so happy to be home! I just want to be on that plane Grin

Wreck - I hope things get better for you and your DH soon Flowers

I’m being inundated by texts and calls from family checking I’m still coming home Grin my grandad is sending me hourly countdown updates god love him Grin

I thought I’d have a bump by now, I just look like I’ve eaten too much! Hopefully I’ll have one soon! Can’t wait to find out what this wee one is tomorrow Grin

Have a grand day everyone, I will try to get on again before we fly tonight, if not I’ll post tomorrow Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 11/10/2018 10:34

Just had super scrambled egg and a banana. DD's playing Minecraft. 😋🍌

flowerycurtain · 11/10/2018 10:36

Hello. Bit of help needed. I need to do 60 Santa presents for the village fair.

Will I get cheaper than 10 books for 10 from the works? Thinking of one of those and a selection box. £3 per child. Would you be happy with that?

WreckTangled · 11/10/2018 11:01

I don't think you'll get cheaper but if you can find a discount code then obviously that'll make a difference. Also Tesco usually do buy one get two free in selection boxes in November I think.

FireflyGirl · 11/10/2018 12:33

That's what I would expect from that sort of event, flowery. It's difficult to do toys without them being gendered; books and a selection box are a good compromise especially as DS is lactose intolerant so I'd have to eat the chocolate Grin

There are discount codes for the Works but they don't work on the 10 for £10 books.

You could also look on the toysforapound website - a few people on the bargain thread have used it (I think - is that the right one, Fluffy?) and been really pleased with the quality of the toys (ie proper toys sold for £1, not poundshop tat that falls apart).
