Had a steak and ale pie for lunch. 😋

FurForksSake · 06/09/2018 14:10

Oh my goodness, I have spent 3 hours making the toppers for G's birthday cake. They aren't as good as professional, but I think he will know who they are! Aside from the squirrel, that's the scariest looking squirrel.

Heavy your life sounds idyllic, if busy!

Fluffy - sorry the shoulder is still playing up. Hope it turns a corner soon.

BiddyPop · 06/09/2018 14:20

Fur I'd hate to see the standards you set for a professional!! They're AMAZING!!!

Heavystream · 06/09/2018 15:11

I love having chickens Seafood it’s very fun!. The kids love them as well. They’ve gone alright, you have to inject honey into the middle so very sticky!.

Thank you fur we worked extremely hard to get here. Both me and DH had rubbish childhoods and when we got pregnant when I was 19 all the odds were against us but we’ve both get very good jobs now and trying to give DC the best life we can give them. Still not always good times though!

AceyMac13 · 06/09/2018 15:39

@Mrs - thank you very much :) my brothers are my rock so always happy to help them out when I can.
@Seafood - it practically is the middle of the night, what a ridiculous time to wake up😂
Just home from the booking appointment, absolutely exhausted! Midwife is lovely, notes will be sent off and should have a scan date through in the next couple weeks. They couldn’t get any blood out of me whoops, cor she gave it a good go, my arms are already bruising 😂
My local Tesco had their Christmas stuff out, I may have squealed in excitement Grin
Relaxing with my feet up before cooking dinner!

AceyMac13 · 06/09/2018 15:40

@Fur cor they are incredible, well done you! Made me well up seeing that and I have no idea why, gahhh hormones 😂

Redgreencoverplant · 06/09/2018 15:53

Wow fur really impressive! So glad the appointment went well Acey :)

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 16:56

Do you have invisible veins too Acey? So do DS1 and I. Not great for DS1 as he spends a lot of time having blood tests and has a needle phobia. 😭

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 16:59

Picked DS2 up, had sweet and sour chicken for supper. 😋🍗

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2018 17:02

Those are amazing, Fur. You're so talented. My toppers are godawful!

@redgreen thank you, I’m glad it did too :)
@philomena - ah I’m sorry to hear about your poor DS1, that must be horrible for him and you! :( I’ve never had a problem with my veins before, but today she just couldn’t do it and she tried about 8 times! Your food always sounds so yummy!

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 18:39

Acey he's nearly 28, he has cystic fibrosis and CF-related diabetes, so lots of blood tests. Now he just kind of goes quiet. He's really good at testing his own blood sugar and taking insulin at home.

CurrentlyAwayFromTheCompuer · 06/09/2018 18:46

Sorry to crash your thread, I was wondering if the Christmas shopping threads are starting up soon? Thanks muchly!

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 18:55

Currently the third one is already up and running in the Christmas topic.

Butterfly I remember that now about your ds. Is it steroid induced or purely down to the CF? My hba1c yesterday was 6.9. Pretty pleased with that as I've taken my eye off the ball a bit.

FurForksSake · 06/09/2018 19:13

Thanks for the kind comments. I am wondering if I can do something like that for a Christmas cake..

Glad your booking in went well, exciting time!!

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 19:22

Wreck the diabetes started when he was 14 and we were NC, rather complicated family reasons, so I'm not sure. I've just texted my mum to ask her, as God forbid DS1 to ever answer a text. Hmm

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 19:23

6.9 sounds good. 😆

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 19:44

It's purely down to the CF Wreck. The tubes from his pancreas are blocked with mucus (sorry), so he doesn't produce pancreatin to digest fat or insulin to digest sugar.

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 19:46

Ah thanks. That's interesting. When I worked at a drs surgery we had a patient with steroid induced diabetes after having cancer so I wondered if it was something similar but it's completely different. Very interesting

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 19:50

Yep, CF causes all kinds of other problems.

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 20:15

DS2 was in bed by 8, DD will go at 8.30. 😴

Seafoodeatit · 06/09/2018 21:38

fur those look amazing, I would assume they were made by a baker!

Acey Glad to hear the appointment went well - apart from the bloods bit! I get all my bloods done at the blood bit of the hospital as midwives and most nurses can't get them - they end up going into my hand which makes me faint embarrassingly, I've got weird tiny veins apparently! Make sure you drink lots of water if you have any more done, warm the area is what's been suggested too, oh and ask for a butterfly needle if you have small veins.

Philomena I'm very sorry to hear about your son, blood tests are awful I can't imagine having to do them that often.

Heavystream · 06/09/2018 21:51

Wow! Fur, them cake toppers look amazing!. I didn’t see them before. Have you made anything else?

candlefloozy · 06/09/2018 22:02

Anyone thinking of getting the lol house? We were in two minds then I've just gone on smyths to pre order and you can't anymore!!
