Beauty advent calendars 2018

Just noticed vogue published their favourite beauty advent calendars for 2018 - with prices and release dates here (don’t look if you want surprises as you can see what are inside some of the calendars.

Is anyone planning on getting one or more this year? Which looks the best?
I know my dd would love the look fantastic one, I can only dream of the diptyque one, or Liberty if they release one again this year [santa]

Nothing on my Sparks card either - fingers crossed I get it next week as I'd like to get that one for DM too

I will definitely get the M&S one. Liberty have apparently produced double the number of calendars this year after the one last year sold out online in under 24 hours.

The M&S one will sell out quickly as well. - last year I think it was around for about 2 weeks. I actually bought one in store.

Does anyone know when M&S is launched in stores?

If anyone is planning to buy the LookFantastic calendar make sure you sign up for emails first - they usually have 15% off on the site but will constantly send you 20% off plus free gift codes by email (to work you have to click through from the email and sign into your account). I’ve never ordered from them without a 20% discount! I also managed to get a free £30 neom candle with a £45 reed diffuser from them for mums Xmas gift this week

I'm getting a bit twitchy about the M&S advent calendar now that I've decided I want it 😄.

The MAC one sold out very quickly, on Look Fantastic and Mac 😒

The m&s one looks great. I think I'll go for that one.

I just looked through the contents of Glossybox, and not impressed - the packaging and size are fab, but products disappointing.

I think that the Elle one has excellent contents. I got it for £112 as I get the Latest in Beauty box.

So does anyone know, I bought gifts to the value of £35 and then bought the advent calendar (potentially twice as I might want one for me and one for MIL) then presumably there is no issue giving those gifts with a gift receipt on the off chance they wanted to return something? I think with a gift receipt you can only exchange anyway but don’t want to be in a position where I’m buying gifts and can’t givr a gift receipt.

How did I forget I posed this??

I’m dying to get my hands on the Mac one for dd, a bit annoyed there’s a couple of ‘filler’ days but I know she would love it none the less.
The website says ‘back in stock’ but it’s actually not, frustratingly so.

You can definitely ask for a gift receipt when buying the Advent calendar. I did last year with nightwear for my sister.

@InfinityGauntlet The MAC one is sold out and no more coming into stock - I spoke to them on Friday. Gutted I missed out.

I’m surprised no one is excited about the Nars one. I thought that one looks fantastic but it doesn’t seem to have been talked about as much even in beauty videos etc I wonder if it was a complete surprise?!

I wanted it for my teen too, but when it went out of stock I ordered her another Mac gift (the beauty box on LF) I really can't afford to buy both

Would you give an advent calendar as a gift? I was thinking of getting friend / colleague the M&S one bit obvs will be early. I did get her a couple of other beauty bits ( a Maria Badescu facial mist and face mask - could add something else?) so could wrap those for Xmas?

Yes, last year I gave my mum the Loccitane one as her Christmas gift. I can't remember what, but I only gave her a small token to open on Christmas morning

Was all set to buy the fabulous Nars one until I realised its $150 in the States and £175 in the UK?

That's £75 MORE expensive for the same thing at today's exchange rates! How the fuck do they justify that?!?
