Just noticed vogue published their favourite beauty advent calendars for 2018 - with prices and release dates here (don’t look if you want surprises as you can see what are inside some of the calendars.

Is anyone planning on getting one or more this year? Which looks the best?
I know my dd would love the look fantastic one, I can only dream of the diptyque one, or Liberty if they release one again this year [santa]

I've had the L'Occitane one for the past couple of years and I will have it again this year. I like the fact that they are all bodycare/skincare products, rather than make-up. I will use all the products from the calendar, whereas if it was make-up that I wouldn't use, I have no-one to pass it on to - DILs don't use make-up and no other females to pass it to, so they'd end up in the bin.

Never bought a beauty advent calendar, have signed up for notifications re the Liberty one.

I'm seriously contemplating the elemis one but it's a massive treat for myself so I'm hoping it would actually be worth it!! Did anyone get the elemis one last year?

RJnomore1 · 27/08/2018 22:46

There is an NYX one mentioned on one of the other links there. It's not all lips thisxyear from what I read.

DanSullivan · 29/08/2018 07:53

I got the No 7 one last year and really liked it. I like No7 anyway, though. It had a good mix of skincare and make up, plus a few tools (fancy tweezers, brushes etc).

Baileystruffle · 29/08/2018 21:37

No no... Holland and Barrett one is 25 days this year, it was only 12 last year.

I got M&S last year and L'occitane the year before. Wouldn't get L'occitane again to be honest because all the bottles were super tiny and a bit samey, and things like shower gels so I didn't feel it was very good value.
Might get M&S again this year... also interested in Rituals and H&B. The ASOS and amazon own ones looked good last year but don't know if they're doing them again this year, no sign of them yet.

The Fenwick items look familiar - a lot of their products feature in the Liberty calendar. Isn't Fenwicks part of House if Fraser?

nickdrakeslovechild · 30/08/2018 08:26

Ah missed that! thanks RJnomore1

@70isalimit - Wrt to your DD wanting cruelty free I noticed that Green People are doing an advent calendar this year, they’re cruelty free.

Fstar · 31/08/2018 09:39

the body shop calendars available to buy today

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 31/08/2018 10:48

They look lovely!

GreenthoughtInAGreenShade · 01/09/2018 21:53

Just looked at the superdrug ones and realised i was officially Old because i don’t recognise or understand any of it Grin

Had the l’occitane one last year and liked it because as pp said it was all skin care and not make up. Does anyone know if any of the others are like this?

Isadora2007 · 01/09/2018 21:58

£195 for an advent calendar. Seriously??

duckling84 · 01/09/2018 22:00

I think I will order myself the body shop one, dh will have khiels and dd(14) will love the look fantastic calendar

purplecorkheart · 01/09/2018 22:04

The Look Fantastic looks good to me from the article. Must do a bit of research

CanIhavedessertfirst · 02/09/2018 18:43

I want a NYX one too! Had the lipstick one last year and loved it.

I8toys · 05/09/2018 12:32

Ordered the Rituals one yesterday. The cheaper one because I want the Amazon and M&S one as well!

WellTidy · 05/09/2018 14:39

I bought the Rituals ones for friends last year and it was fab. I am a huge Rituals fan, I love their hand creams, shower foams and body lotions.

I bought the Occitane one for (the same) friends the year before and it was also fab, better than Rituals, they thought.

So now I'm looking this year for something similar for them. Budget is about £60. Would prefer not to do make up, but more skincare/body stuff. Any recommendations please? I didn't think much of the M&S one last year, and would prefer all one brand.

christmashope · 05/09/2018 14:47

Does anyone know when the benefit calendar will be on sale? X

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/09/2018 22:05

18toys what's the difference between the Rituals ones? I've looked online , one is flat , one is a 3D tree with boxes but that's all I know

What is in each (without being spoiler-ing ) Xmas Grin

£59 v £89 ...............

I8toys · 09/09/2018 16:39

I think its basically the same but with the expensive one you get a travel perfume and a room fragrance I think.

Looking4wards · 09/09/2018 17:04

I've just pre-ordered the Lookfantastic one... first time getting it. I looked through the contents spoilers and thought I'd use/wanted to try most of the items.

I really want the Harrods one... but the price tag Shock... maybe next year with a lottery win Grin

JustLurkingAway · 09/09/2018 17:20

Just ordered the mid-priced body shop calendar! The other two on my list are M&S and No7...maybe I'm obsessed with advent calendars.

Fuzzyend · 09/09/2018 18:55

Quick question.

I've been lusting after a beauty advent calendar for a couple of years and have decided that if I manage to shift a stone before December that I will get a mid priced one as my reward.

Do they sell out? And if so when by?

I'm wondering if I should get one early show then give it away if I don't meet my goal......
