Beauty advent calendars 2018

Just noticed vogue published their favourite beauty advent calendars for 2018 - with prices and release dates here (don’t look if you want surprises as you can see what are inside some of the calendars.

Is anyone planning on getting one or more this year? Which looks the best?
I know my dd would love the look fantastic one, I can only dream of the diptyque one, or Liberty if they release one again this year [santa]

Well @LaurieFairyCake If it helps you get 24 products! 🤔

LaurieFairyCake · 29/10/2018 11:55

Yes, they're mini ones. Would definitely have bought it if the price difference wasn't so much - no idea why they would charge so much more for the same product in UK

It looks fabulous!

Electrascoffee · 29/10/2018 12:20

I always buy based upon how much you get for your money. There is no point if it's not cost effective.

Electrascoffee · 29/10/2018 12:28

The John Lewis one is currently £140 online because they've got a beauty promotion running.

Just had my M&S one delivered - now, whether to keep or sell on Ebay when it is out of stock???

SymphonyofShadows · 29/10/2018 15:23

Last year my local (huge) branch had piles of the M&S calendar for weeks. They seem to take them off sale everywhere on a certain day. They are very aggressively marketing it this year so I reckon there will be a huge amount of stock.

BewareOfDragons · 29/10/2018 15:57

I think advent calendars are great gifts if you know your recipient. My mum bought me the two I wanted for my birthday. :) Weeks of treats!

Electrascoffee · 29/10/2018 17:20

The whole point of the M&S one is that it's a bargain at £35. I wouldn't buy it for more than that because it's mostly travel sizes and this year doesn't have the liquid gold AHA.

PurpleOctober · 29/10/2018 18:12

The M&S calendar goes down to £10 with no minimum spend in stores in December, so pointless trying to flog on ebay. It's not like the No7 calendar (where it sells out within hours), i=there's always loads of stock.

SymphonyofShadows · 29/10/2018 18:29

I've never seen it for £10. In my store they remove them on 1st Dec and staff get to buy them for £10, or they go in a sweepstake if there aren't enough. I have a friend who works there.

MrsCar · 30/10/2018 09:13

The MAC one is out of stock again

youngestisapsycho · 30/10/2018 10:37

I went to our local large M&S store last year and there were loads of calendars piled up.... I decided 2 days later that I would quite like one but when I returned to the store there were none left and was told they wouldnt be getting anymore!

chickydoo · 30/10/2018 13:19

Liberty out of stock online
Was going to get one for DS

MarmaladeTeepee · 30/10/2018 13:44

Does anyone know what time the M&S one goes live on their website for non-sparks card holders? I'm happy to stay up til midnight if it means bagging one epitome of fomo.

Electrascoffee · 30/10/2018 19:44

Liberty is back in stock online now @chickydoo

SymphonyofShadows · 31/10/2018 07:04

According to MSE the M&S advent is available in stores from tomorrow

Howaboutthisone · 31/10/2018 22:22

Glad I found this thread as hadn't noticed emails from sparks as I've been away but have just ordered the calendar and our Christmas pjs. Thanks! Was going to set the alarm for midnight if not!

Electrascoffee · 01/11/2018 06:41

I've ordered the M&S one. That's it for me this year though I may order another for DM.

MarmaladeTeepee · 01/11/2018 07:33

I got the m&s one, although setting my alarm for midnight was a pointless exercise as they didn't go live until about 3am! Oh well, at least DM's sorted now.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 01/11/2018 08:08

Got the dds amazon ones last year. They are £50 but last year Black Friday they were £25 each. They loved them. Thinking of doing the same thing this year. Anyone seen if they are any good. All the others are just too expensive.

AliceRR · 01/11/2018 08:16

I ordered the M&S calendar online. Pleased I did as I was worried whennid hsve chance to pick them up and whether they’d sell out. I ordered two and spent two lots of £35+ but had to do it as two separate transactions as it only applied the discount once otherwise (in case anyone else is thinking of doing that).

One is for me and one is for MIL

SouthWestmom · 01/11/2018 08:18

This one looks good for my mum, just ordered it. £26.66 on Amazon
